There is a striking similarity of events between Lal Masjid and Swat. Patronizing of a mullah by few govt. people, local projection of the mullah if he is coming Mehdi, confiscated arms allowed to go and store with the consent of some govt. officials. And finally a decisive operation. Who is playing with whom? or just repetition of mistakes?
Lala jee, thank you for standing up to these animals. thank God for brave leaders like you. may Allah keep you safe, Lala jee. we need you and more like you…
hope that kuttay da puttar Sufi Khabees and his khinzeernuma damaad Fazlulah are hanged in an open chowk. better yet, cut their throats slowly too just as they do to innocent Pakistanis. burn in hell har.amis.
Afzal Khan Lala’s talks have clearly confirmed that the previous MMA government helped and assisted Taliban to get firmly established in the Pakhtunkhwa province. The religious parties like JI and JUI are allies to the beast Taliban. In general, religious political parties of Pakistan and their, so called, deeni madaris are greatest security risk to the country. Therefore they deserve no mercy at all. They are murderes and killers. It is the time now that they should be treated accordingly. Afzal Khan Lala is the son of soil and his each word carries a great weight. Mullas are big liers.
Taliban has captured all Afzal Khan propery, killed his two little nephews. Lets think why Jamaat-e-Islami and JUI-F are supporting Taliban? Just for money and lust of power. We all need to condemn both JI and JUI-F.
LALAJEE seems to be a good man..he stayed wid his people when they needed him the most..but he raised a question which everybody is asking these days WHO IS FUNDING TALIBANS? & WHAT IS THE MOTIVE?..we need to know this..every PAKISTANI (specificaly PASHTHUNS) want answer for this..america have given billion of dollars to pakistan in fight against terror but i dont think any of this have been spent in pukhtonkhwa.. LALAJEE thinks that taliban n army are same then i want to ask him why did not he resigned in protest if army is killing there own innocent people.. it is his party who is in government both at provincial & national level, it means then there government is as involved as army and so is he..he was asking what was the pressure on ANP to sign that agreement wid talibans.. i wud like to ask him what was pressure on him not resign?..
in Pakistan everybody is blaming everybody else but no one is taking resposibilty of there wrongdoings..i pray for peace n prosperity of my beautiful country..ALLAH HAMARE PAK WATAN KO AMAN KA GEHWARA BANAYE..AMEEN

Good questions about why Lala did not resign, as it seems a natural step. However, each case has to be seen in its own setting. Whereas Fazal-urRehman not resigning (at a million occasions in the past and now) and partnering with the government, still complaining (sometimes) is clearly known by all of us as his mean character, hypocrisy and wish to stay in power, but on the other hand, a person like Afzal Lala is the only hope for the locals. The locals gain strength from people like him, meet him regularly, and are in touch with him, he lives with them (as you said, he did not run away even when he was attacked), unlike many other leaders of his own party, ANP, and other parties there. In fact, the opponents (Taliban or any other) who wanted to control the region would want Lala to run away or resign. I am sure for a person like him, it would be a decision to make, but the question is your commitment to the people/region/roots by staying in and *not for the sake of power or government*, versus leaving the role he could play.
Still, your question is valid because by his resignation, ANP could come under pressure. Whether he did not want to do that, or that he weighed the option of exerting pressure on ANP or not is unclear.

@naughtypakistani
we need to find out who planned all this – once we findout we need to take that person/agency to task.
Afzal Khan Lala is a brave, classy man.
