A very good issue oriented show. Only Ahsan Iqbal was the voice of reason. Jatoi was just jumping up and down like a rabbit. He is federal minister. Why doesn’t he table a resolution in the National Assembly for creation of a new Province named Saraeki Sooba? Although sub division of current provincial setup is a requirement now not and option anymore. But all the provinces must be sub divided ASAP. And its not a nationalistic issue but an administrative issue.

Its not as difficult as you think. Smaller units do not necessarily mean higher expenditure. Smaller units mean more convenience and service closer to the home for a citizen. There can be constitutional caps on the number of ministers and the budget. Also the new smaller provinces will be responsible of generating their own revenue.
Its not the Punjab that needs to be subdivided, the other 3 provinces also need to be subdivided on geographical basis. Although there will be a very strong resistance from their leadership on this subject. Qaim Ali Shah has already been on record saying that Sind was geographically very small to be subdivided, which is utterly wrong. Imagine someone from Dehrki has to travel hundreds of miles down to Karachi for his issues of provincial level. Whereas if Northern Sind was a separate province that service would be available some where closer like may be Khairpur, which is not too far from Dehrki.
