For years the founder of leader of Pakistan’s Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has spoken about financial misappropriation and irregularities of the country’s feudal and industrial rulers through alleged or real misuse of power.
But British Land Registry records now revealed that Altaf Hussain, the charismatic middle class leader of Pakistan’s third largest political party could not curb the temptation of acquiring a series of expensive and middle class properties in the British capital – one of the most expensive cities in the world.
MQM is the most corrupt mafia in karachi, more corrupt than PPP.
Its corruption is hidden because they act like mafia, if u give security to the people of karachi, then u will see more corruption cases of MQM out in public.

What a hypocrisy! This is a typical story of all major political leaders from Pakistan. I wonder how these leaders forget their own misappropriations and start pointing fingers towards others. Mr. Altaf Hussaien being leader of a major political force in Pakistan has no courage to go back to his own country and face reality. How can he be a leader of a party when he is not in thick and thin of his own people and pulling strings from a foreign land. It is shameful status and people associated with him must think about it.

Altaf Hussain’s source of incomes are not entirely unknown and there is no denying of the fact that did start from a humble beginning.
He owns a pharmacy in Chicago. He lived in Chicago long time ago where he was a cabi. From that money, he bought a pharmacy long time ago, over 2 decades. Owning a pharmacy for such a long time in Chicago could be very lucrative. So I’d say it is not entirely impossible for him to own these properties in London considering you can easily get lots and mortgages in those countries.
However, Altaf Hussain should come forward and give an explanation.

Having said that, I expect Altaf Hussain to come forward and clear his position.
Most of the educated and business class persons are unable to get UK visit visa,
how was it possible for MQM history sheeters, wanted persons to manage UK visa and even get social security stpends there ??
UK government is equally responsible for promoting these Southern Taliban of Karachi.

When Altaf went to London, UK used to give asylum entries to tons from all over the world. Him getting asylum and then getting nationality is no exception. Thousands of people in UK get those all the time!!
In all cases I expect Altaf Hussain to clear his position. I also ask everyone not to believe the story on its face value. Think first, act second.
I also think it is entirely possible and legitimate if Altaf Hussain purchased it from his earnings from his pharmacy in Chicago.
Every one cannot be “Gandhi”…..so this is an ignorable issue….cause non of us can really do anything about it other then just sneer and jest about the reality of corruption all over the label of Pakistan, anything, anything which carries a label of Pakistan is well known to have an ugly label of “corruption” just like the word “Muslim” is not a “terrorist”…..in the west, the word terrorist is now default for Muslim, same for corruption…….in the minds of some, which is a myth now….
Altafa Kaliya (as he is dark Dravidian origin) has wealth way more than listed. I am not sure who paid this newspaper to do this kinda story, (imran khan) but all it serves is useless propaganda……
Gandhi and Muslim Sahaba’s were the only people who were able to display a sadhu type transparency while in power….well gandhi never held office but he did hold the grass roots to the power of political systems.

I tend to agree with you about the credibility of the newspaper but we have to take all journalism (Pakistani and as well as the West) with some grain of salt (off course with some spices مسالہ too) these days.
The strength of this site is in the comments of it participants. People here are smarter than many think. They will fine comb frivolous stories and rip part fake lifafa journalist. Only a fraction of contents are actually produced by the site itself.

Altaf Hussain can have as many as properties in London, and so has Zardari (and Benazir) and also he is number one ally of Zardari, so all Zardari lovers and NRO waali kay lovers must be very happy. Moreover, MQM has won a seat in Gilgit and that has put a damper on Bhutto Party.
I see lot of happy faces and this site as well. This drama is not new one we have seen in the past similar propaganda against hated persons by this site, like Musharraf, Zardari, of course MQM.

As much as I feel strongly that people outside of the country should not be able to do politics in Pakistan, I do understand that Political Family and ethnic mafia based leaders inside the country have majority of their money and children outside the Pakistan.
The second richest Pakistani, Nawaz Sharif claims that he has $61 in the Pakistani Banks, the President of Pakistan has billions of dollars stashed in different phony corporations and bank accounts in the West and USA.
People do not understand that Altaf Bhai is “King” of MQM community in Pakistan and if you digout all the MQM commandos bodies from the graves, you can built a huge “Palace” of bones for the King, or the holly figure who periodically requires human sacrifice of his followers and his opponents.
He is a “God” like figure to his followers. Any MQM commando has a much grater chance to become a milliner, just by association with the Mafia “God father” and his gang of criminals.
I believe strongly that people deserve their leaders, they are part and parcel of their actions, believes, behaviors and their conscience.
No amount of my criticism of the current ethnic and family mafia based corrupt and inept political parties matters, unless and until the people of Pakistan reject them.
I feel that Altaf Bhai is buying all these properties with the hard earned money he “earned” by betraying his country and working for the CIA, and the Indians and Western agencies.

My friend, why can’t we have a “new” party in Karachi which can represent majority of the people of Pakistan, who gave their lives, left their homes, properties, friends and in many cases family members to become Pakistanis.
A party of pious people, party of good Muslims, a party of people of conscience, a party of the most educated people of Pakistan, a party of the most artistic people of Pakistan, a party of the best business people of Pakistan, a party of the true Pakistani’s who are proud of their decision of migration rather using it as a cause for political gains.
A party who can get rid and have these MQM goons arrested and prosecuted by the witnesses of the good people of Karachi. MQM has so much blood and crimes in its hands that it has to be dismantled for a new party, which is run by the people of Pakistan for the people of Pakistan.
I am very proud of the Urdu speaking people of Pakistan’s achievements and the role they played in the inspection of Pakistan, but also I am disheartened by their choice of the leadership of Altaf Mafia Gang.

What are the characteristics of a good leader?
Leaders of the world and of any country particular plays most important role to achieve genuine happiness of its people.
Good and capable leader leads its people and country to a peace and prosperity, while the cruel and incapable leader bring people to the world of sufferings and ultimately ruin country.
Leader must not only be educated and experienced but it is important to be a compassionate and sensible to the problems faced by their people.
Leaders of the government should win the trust of people by being strategically friendly avoiding any kind of provocation or war with neighboring countries and must also allow a degree of transparency in the day to day working and the governance of the country.
In my view most important characters of a good leader is that they must be compassionate, honest, trustworthy, financially(personal) open to public.
No matter what credential they have and how much experience they have in administration but without being compassionate they can’t ever become a responsible and successful leader.
For example Hitler and Altaf Bhai are known for their cruelty. They had no feelings for their own race. They failed to understand the feelings of Jews, the Pustoons,
the Punjabis and other races and thus persecuted them. They failed to know the fact the strength of their country lies in them.
Secondly, with compassion, honesty, trustworthiness, financially(personal) openness , leader must be far-sighted and able administrator. He must be able to organize his government in a way that it would reach the grass root level.
No section of the society should be left out. Policy or scheme initiated for the benefit of public must be implemented in such way that it should not get politicize and corrupt during the process of implementation.
Administration should notice and reach the problems being faced by public and tackle it on time without unnecessary delay. And most important of all he must knows well about the interest of country in today’s global world and able to create a conducive atmosphere to achieve lasting peace and prosperity in global village.
In nutshell, there are many other qualities that are required by a good leader ,example he must be peace lover, trustworthy, inspirational, diplomatic, etc.

A Statement by the Asian Human Rights Commission
PAKISTAN: Human rights defender names his alleged murderers shortly before his death; government fails to provide protection
Mr. Nisar Baloch, aged 46, was shot dead on November 7, by motorbike riders. Police have refused to mention the names of the murderers in the First Investigation Report (FIR), owing to the fact that the accused persons belong to ruling political party, MQM, which has a background of target killings. On November 6, the day before his murder, Nisar Baloch addressed members of the press at a press conference and clearly stated that the City’s Nazim (mayor) Mr. Mustafa Kamal, as well as the Town Nazim of the SITE town, had the intention to murder him. He stated further that he would be murdered the next day by the aforementioned people and by activists of the MQM Altaf Hussain group. He blamed the party in ruling alliance for their encroachment onto the land of Gutter Baghicha, an amenity plot of 1017 acres.
His death is the second incident in the victimization of housing rights defenders in the past five years in Karachi. During both incidents, the MQM was in power. The son of Baseer Naveed, radio broadcaster and leader of the resistance movement against the construction of the Lyari Express, was abducted on November 8 2004 and his body was found with torture marks on the wall of Naveed’s radio station, two days after his abduction. Nisar Baloch was another activist in the movement against the construction of the Lyari Expressway, through which more than 300,000 people were supposed to be displaced.
Mr. Nisar Baloch was a well-known figure who worked against the grabbing of amenity plots by the government and other such powerful people. The land of Gutter Baghicha, a park, was declared to be an amenity plot in 1972. However, when the MQM took control of the city’s mayorship in the early 1990s, parts of the Gutter Baghicha were illegally allotted to officers of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). The local people of trans-Lyari resisted, and refused to allow the KMC to encroach upon the park. The Karachi NGO Alliance, (through which Mr. Nisar Baloch was running the people’s movement against the grabbing of this parkland) got a stay order from the Sindh High Court against construction in this park. However, the MQM, which has remained in power since 1989, (whether the ruling government was civilian or military,) did not respect the court’s order. Clearly, the values which uphold law and order in this country have deteriorated to a state of abjection. When a man says in a press conference that he will be killed the following day by the mayors of Karachi and the SITE town, and the police fail to provide protection to him because of the political pressure they are under, it is clear that the situation is deplorable. Even the journalists present at the press conference did not take Baloch’s apprehensions seriously, and did not give coverage of his concerns to the public. Furthermore, the police at the Soldier Bazar Police Station, in whose jurisdiction this murder occurred, have refused to put the name of murderer on the FIR. This is illegal, and clearly indicates that the police have become sub-servants to the cadres of ruling parties.
Housing and resettlement policies in Pakistan are unclear and ambiguous, leaving room for manipulation by those in ruling political parties, and the opportunity to grab land and convert it into commercial plots. About half of Pakistan’s population lives in slum communities, and often in a state of squalor. Judicial negligence, combined with the inaction and ineffectiveness of the courts in dealing with the housing needs of the people and matters of land-grabbing, has benefited the land-grabber tremendously.
The government of Sindh should act immediately to arrest the culprits on these murder charges including, Mr. Mustafa Kamal, City Nazim and Mr. Izhar Uddin, Town Nazim of SITE town, (the name of the latter was stated by Mr. Nisar Baloch during his press conference, one day before his death,) and the high officials of the Karachi Police, including the Chief Police Officer and Station Head Officer (SHO) of the Soldier Bazar Police Station. A thorough inquiry should be conducted into the extra-judicial killing of Nisar Baloch.

Very informative piece of information and I want to add it here that Nisar Baloch was one of the most active social worker who was waging tough resistance against MQM illegal allotments and KABZA Khoori…moreover when SIndh Govt took out the powers of Nazims for plot alloting etc MQM put strong stance against PPP and even threatened to leave the support.This shows their mischevious plna for grabbin more lands before the Nazim system finishes in Dec.They are in hurry to grab as much land as possible.
The Killing of Nisar Baloch shaheed is one of the sad episode…it means who ever dares to avert their plans,he would be killed…sheer terror.Civil society must support brave ppl like Nisar Baloch who sacrifices their life for others.I request Admin to highlight the role of Nisar Shaheed in order to send signal to whole civil society and social workers that this plat form is with them against any atrocity and more over the Mafia role of MQM should also be discouraged!!

Like the disclosure of purchase of ‘a mansion & multiple homes worth millions for MQM’s ‘pleader’ not leader; I foresee much more ‘spicy’ news coming out of London about ‘undoings’ & misdeeds of ‘Kala Bhatta Khor’ & of other such ‘green-eyed’ but worthless guys of the ‘goras’ who have so far kept them in ‘store’ to expose them at a later opportune moment, just like now.
Like the infamous Swiss bank accounts, their sojourn in London itself ‘bespeaks’ of their ‘black deeds’ which the ‘goras’ only seem to tolerate as long as they themselves are not ‘fingered’ by these ‘brownies’ who escaped from their former ‘colonies’ of the Indian sub-continent.

i know what MQM is all about once i was shopping for coming Eid in saddar cloth market i was taking delivery of my sewed cloth around 5 persons came to same shop where i was standing those boys handed over reciepts of Khidmat Khalq Foundation KKF which is running under MQM , the shopkeeper said to boy that we have already given the Zakat but boy said its good for you to accept these reciepts i saw one boy with TT Pistol in his paints the shopkeeper told him bhai buisness is not going well please give me one reciept of 100 rupees my brother is not at shop i can,t give it to you….i was shocked the boy with TT pistol slapped the shopkeer and told him don,t you want your shop or you are not happy sitting here i will burn your shop ……and then he asked him you want your shop to be burned or u will accept all these reciepts total reciepts was worth 300 then the shop keeper gave him 300 rupess …
many of you would know how many shops are there in saddar and how many would have payed them… this was the day i hate MQM this is what i saw no body told me that i witnessed that and i hate MQM they are bhatta khors corrupt people looting poor shopkeers and also demands money from buisness mans of karachi

The MQM is not only corrupted politician party but their party leader use soft corner for Ahmadiyat (Mirzayee), which is not acceptable for Pakistani Muslim majority, because mirzayee is the name of contradiction of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), so i don’t think why MQM’s leader keeps soft corner for Mirzayyes.
To sheeraz : I have heard a lot like this . I am not a MQM worker but I have been watching this party evolve every day over last 25 yrs. .There must be some good there.

Third, we do not have culture to support political party as most of the political parties are Vadears . They spend out of pocket and make 10 times more lataer. MQM has no means but apparently has lot more expenses than any oyther party and depends on donations .They have no reports of money making while in government . So irrespective of what Sheeraz said, I will encourage people to doante generously to this party and ask MQM to keep a clean record of this so this party thrives.

It tragic how journalists like Hamid Mir can travel to UK for launching of his books but not see these big mansions of political figures like Altaf. I wish these journalists like hamid mir who travel to UK so often could go and interview these politicians too who are living in mansions. I know the same journalists go enjoy with them they get paid to talk in their favor when they get ck to Pakistan. Shame on media for not showing their real faces to the nation and manipulating the people minds again and again!! A recent survey shows that 57& Pakistanis believe that media is coruupting the minds and is not playin a good role at all for the country and truly so I am in the 57%. I believe after the politicians media is the most powerful thing that can bring a revolution in pakistan. We need a good leader but with that we even need a great MEDIA!!

The meida was liberated by Musharraf and now they are being paid by Nawaz group to do one sided propganda against Musharraf.
I just ask one question. Why Geo is not interviewing Musharraf while he is giving lectures to the rest of the word? He was the only sitting president who gave open interview to Kamran Khan and came in Jawabdah Geo programs, but now they are only talking nuisance about him w/o giving him a chance to explain. All the mainstream parties are corrupt. In order of decreasing level of corruptness:

The problem is that we too are corrupt. In order to get things done easily and tax free we opt to pay bribes. So we too are fueling this filth.

It is easy to criticize everyone we think off. An average person, living in Europe or North America for a long time, can afford a million dollars / pounds worth of house or property. MQM leader, Altaf Hussain can afford a big house. He is a leader of a community or part comprising of people, who love him and sacrifice for him. They respectfully obey him and follow his ideology. We can not compare carrots with cotton or oranges with bananas. Peoples party leadership is a product of landlords and riches but MQMsprouted from middle class and poor people. MQM party members volunteerand offer services, help poors and relentlessly serve the country.
Mr. Nawaz Shareef and Mr. Zardari had a history of money laudering and other defaults during their governments. It is up to the courts to do the justice and then implement it (Punish them or give them a chance).
It is shameful for our politicians to stick with their position or chair regardless of the charges or rejections they get from public. I have many examples of politicians in Canada who left their position and politics if they are accused of one guilty charge. A premier of Alberta, once, left his premiership because his son was found guilty of drugs in the court. An MP quit her political career after she was found guilty of unconventional support to an individual. A mayor was charged of a careless driving and went to pay the fine as acommon citizen. A prime minister was charged for a kick-back of adeal and faced the court for last twenty years.
I wish we have politicians like these. If they are found defaults, they voluntarily quit their jobs.

Check online Archives section of Jang. There you can choose Ansar Abbassir and you will see all his articles.
The article I am talking about is about leaders not paying taxes. He criticises all parties and in the middle mentions this. He asks MQM Rabita committe etc to clarify the position if that is not true.
So far, MQM has not denied that Altaf Hussain paid £15 Million as out of court settlement to his wife.
