The media has turned into a cartel and has been watching its economic interests. People are just fooled to watch programs and buy the products shown in advertisements during the breaks. An anchor is successful who sensationalize an issue more than other do. More inflow of money through getting more ads means the anchor is making his job secure. It is just job nothing service of the country. The phenomenon is like Sultan Rahi playing with the sentiments of the people. The moment the NRO issue is settled, there is not issue to play with like after Sultan Rahi the film industry is silent and mum. What will anchors and TV channels will do then.
But then why the people don’t realize how are they being fooled? Has any TV channel started mass awareness program to make people educated and aware on the issues concerning them? But then most of the people are illiterate or semieducated, how can they understand what is happening in the name of telling them national interests and whatnot? How to make the people stop believing in the conspiracy theories and start using their analytical power?
Pakistan is in difficult times.

I think media is also becoming corrupt… on all the channels and newspapers all the anchors and columnist are never happy… they are just playing with the nation as these so called leaders too… the only difference is the change of medium only….

Strange why the media is keeping mum over corruption and land grabs by our “angles” in uniform while crying horse over politicians

or is it that the current military leadership (kiyani and co) are protecting their predeccesors- cuz if they dont who will protect them for the land grabbing and corruption they are indulging in right now.

This post is incorrect, if you see the survey on the site, it says…

“Thirty one percent (31%) are of the view that media is responsible for political instability in the country. Fifty seven percent (57%) disagree whereas 12% were unsure.”

I think with these sort of reporting this 31% should be increased. Shame on the reporter of this post, please be responsible.

You need to change those figures as announced yesterday by Dr Shafiq Gillani on Bolta Pakistan that the actual people “who blame media for political instability in the country” is only 31% and people “who think media is playing a positive role” is 57%.

Yes that is true. The failure of our government to get favorable conditions in aid bill was due to media. The NRO not been tabled and passed in the parliament is due to media. The sugar crisis is due to media. The law and order is due to media. Absentia of governance in due to media. 400% increase in corruption is due to media. 150% increase in crimes is due to media. Power shortages is due to media. In fact media is responsible for all our evils. Our government is doing great. Media does not want this government to function. Our government is so sympathetic to public that it has 90 ministers to look after us but media won’t let them work. Damn you media

Media is doing good job making people of Pakistan aware from these corrupt people in our society. Yes I think the quality & verity of programmes needs to be improved, which I think will improve over the time as media realise his powers & effects.
