Khalid Anwar’s reply was perfect giving example of Israel and France. I Think similar rule should be applied here by the Parliament to force these people to resign and face the court. Otherwise they will not. Dheet
Khud hi Munsif Khud hi Qaqeel. Expecting this corrupt regime to allow a fair trial against sitting powerful ministers like defence, interior…….next to impossible
A high level commission comprising serving Supreme Court judges, like alarger bench of 7 or 11 should be formed to come up with a solution within a week or two weeks, at least on the issue of sitting ministers, ambassadors and other key slots.
The cases of MQM should be handed to another commission maybe headed by a noble person like Justice Wajihuddin Ahmed or Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid to review and announce a verdit and end this controversy.
Similarly, there should be a powerful and honest serving Supreme Court judge who should be appointed head of National Accountability Bureau. A poor, weak civil servant like nawid ahsan will not be able to do justice.
@Awaam
Appoint someone like Khalilur Rehman Ramday as Chairman NAB and FIA’s economic crime wing should be handed over to NAB as investigating agency. Then these criminal should be tried.
Sanaullah was also right to demand that NAB-Zade and those who got their loans written off should also be treated severely under the law. This is public money and their should be accountability of every single penny.
Public pressure is most to mak ethem yield otherwise everyone has issued a statement to clear his or her name, which is not enough that have looted our money and they should be punished, including Gen Mush who was part and parcel of it.
The show was very informative but Nadeem Malik was not fair showing the pictures of houses in US and UK owned by certain Party members. These house do not look like some expensive houses, any one with half decent job can afford to buy such houses.
My point is why Nadeem Malik did not show the pictures of the large mansions and palaces in London, Los Angles and Jeddah, perhaps these mansions are owned by his favorite leaders from certain party.
Please Nadeem Malik try to be fair and honest, do not be a bigot, learn a lesson from Balochistan where Bloch’s are demanding a separate country for themselves because they were subjected to the same type of discriminatory treatment for last sixty years.
Kaira says that NRO is just a list of indictments and ministrs do not have to resign. If someone want to see a shameless man he could see Kaira. He is one of the man who is never tired of talking democracy and democratic values but he does not know that in democracy even accusations are enough to resign.Make your self clean first in the eyes of people through courts and then take charge of the office. But these are democratic values Kaira is not aware of.
Very good point raised by Khalis Anwar how can subordinates prosecute their bosses. There should be a independent commission to prosecute these people and there should be a fair trial. It is really shameful that pretty much all the main office bearers of the current government are accused. If they are innocent they got to prove it. They are not innocent just because they say they are ,they have to go through the process. Not only all the accused should be tried in the court but also there should be laws and courts to make sure that no body loots the nation money any more .
Safdar Abbasi said that PPP made a deal with Musharaf for fair elections. These politicians have excuse of every thing. It is known fact now that the deal was made to bring PPP in to power with the help of Americans and British. NRO was designed in Washington Condaliza Rice was the architect of NRO. I give credit to political parties and their leaders to have courage to lie to the people of Pakistan shamelessly. Same thing with NRO beneficiaries they are all calling themselves innocent. I understand all the cases can not be true but at the same time all the cases can not be wrong either.
I have a suggestion that instead of taking these corrupt politicians and generals to the court and wasting Pakistan,s money and time just tell them to prove legitimate source of the wealth they have if they give the proof it is ok otherwise their money should be confiscated.
The values of our whole society are need to be overhauled .It is not just politicians and military generals who are dishonest our society in general is corrupt. A shopkeeper in our neighborhood wants to make much more than he should have. A clerk in a office would not pay any attention to you as long you wont pay him even for a legitimate task. Policeman will put you in jail if you wont bribe him or keep you in illegal custody. There is not even single institute we could go to get justice.

Can not be more agreed than what you said these are the people sitting in parliament looting and making laws to get away with it.
It is so disturbing to hear when PPP leaders call Zardari SADR_E_MUMLIKAT .Our hearts and minds do not accept this notion.Man is not just accused of NRO we never hear any thing good about him.His whole personality is very shady and dubious. The real PPP leader ship is either dead or keeping distance from Zardari ,above all more than 50% of PPP workers do not trust this man.
AS expected, the release of the list of NRO beneficiaries has provoked a plethora of reactions. While quite a few of the prominent political figures, whose names appear in the list, are pleading innocence, claiming to be victims of political foul play, certain affected politicians within the PPP are unhappy at Minister of State for Law, Afzal Sindhu, for showing indecent haste in making the names public through a press conference. Strangely, some would have liked their cases to be reviewed before making the disclosure. There are also reports that the PPP has even suggested to its NRO-affected ministers to tender their resignations, though Governor Taseer has denied them and observed that the registration of cases did not prove their guilt. A most intriguing response comes from Interior Minister Rehman Malik, who while maintaining that there is no case of corruption against him, has promised to reveal facts about the NRO controversy at an “appropriate time”. MQM chief Altaf Hussain says it was during the operation against his party that all cases against him were initiated and that there was none when he left the country. To help boost the morale of NRO beneficiaries Acting Attorney General Shah Khawar has assured that the cases would not reopen unless the apex court exercises its power of review.
Our stupid parliament should do something. All major decisions were either forced by people in restoration of judges issue or they were taken by the Supreme Court.
Shame on thi sparliament which was elected with so high hopes after removal of Musharraf.
The 2007 Annual Report for the National Accountability Bureau is the most recent that can be found at the NAB website. On page “V” of this report, you will find a list of staff members of the NAB titled “Leadership.” Not surprisingly, the philosophy of Pakistan’s philosopher-warrior king at the time, Gen Pervez Musharraf, shines radiantly through the names.
Eight of the 12 names are preceded by a mighty title of an officer rank in the Pakistani military. Military men made up the vast majority of Musharraf’s trusted accomplices in the business of stealing Pakistani sovereignty from the people, and mutilating its Constitution. If you ask an officer, he will tell you why this was the case. (In fact, if you know an officer, you must make it a point to ask.) He will tell you it is because the military is Pakistan’s cleanest institution.
An excerption of a article in THENEWS about NRO and NAB worth reading.
The anchor is a very soft-spoken person, I like his way of talking, nice but straight and sharp.
Now he must be careful after showing pictures of MQM senior official’s home at abroad.
It is time that media and judiciary show the light of the day to the others. It is not that everyone working in news channels is an honest and all the judges are above super humans, there are cases like those who got plots as Rishwat from Zardari and Musharraf, their names should also be presented in the National Assembly and Senate.
This will make it known to everone about KALI BHARAIN (Black Sheeps) in media and judiciary. I think it is very important no wto make a distinction between real journalists and crooks, similarly judges should aslo come clean. There was a PCO judge of SC during Musharraf period who was used to claim that who owned 14 plots in Islamabad. It should end now.

You are trying to make a big deal out of nothing.I do not understand what you suppose to mean there was nothing favourable or bias.
Any way it was a great show lot of information and few good suggestions. There is a simple fact of the matter that we need to be honest.

You are right ever since parliament is elected it is bypassed on major issues but there is not even one resolution in the parliament to remind the government that there is a body called parliament and national issues are suppose to be discussed there. These parliamentarians know about their personal rights but not the institution they are elected for.Actually they are so busy making personal gains they do not mind if they are not consulted.
I believe that all accused of corruption both civil and military should be put in jail and should not be released as long they do not prove their innocence. It is impossible that every case was registered on political ground and there is n0 reality behind. It is time to settle this issue once for all,and nullify corrupt politicians from politics.
I think media should make it a point to show apartments and mansions owned by all political leaders, including Nawaz Sharif, Zardari, Altaf Hussain, Musharraf and all others to let Pakistani people know about the use of their looted money. recently, a news report indicated “Bhai Sahib” paid 2 million pounds to settle divorce dispute, since his wife got hold of all the proeprty details of the said Bhai. This should be made public.
Rehman Malik paved the way for payments through illegal channels.
