Was it an attempt on the life of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry or a mere goof-up by the Islamabad traffic police?
Supreme Court Registrar Dr Faqir Hussain says that what had happened to the chief justice and his family on Monday night was something “highly unusual” that needs to be thoroughly investigated.
However, lawyers’ leader and former spokesman for the chief justice during his days of unconstitutional depositions Athar Minallah smelled a rat. He believed that the people’s chief justice was making certain strong circles uncomfortable and added that the facts of the event did not lead to the conclusion that it was just an accident.
“The people’s chief justice obviously makes strong circles uncomfortable,” Athar Minallah said without explaining which “strong circles” he was referring to but added: “The facts (of the incident) do not lead to the conclusion that it was just an accident.”
Talking to The News, he said: “There seems to be more to it that ought to be investigated thoroughly.”

According to the Islamabad Police, the traffic mishap the chief justice and his family narrowly escaped was actually an attempt on the lives of the members of his convoy.
A police report registered in the federal capital accuses two Islamabad Traffic Police officials of attempted murder.
Assistant Sub Inspectors Fazal Karim and Liaquat Ali, who had parked their police car in the middle of the highway where the chief justice and his security convoy was traveling, have been arrested.

this is very unusual that chief justic convey was hit by police van,it is very clear that the police is already made alert about the passage of the convey,this must bthoroughly investigated by high rank judge of supreme court.it gives clear indication that there is very clear threat to chief justice life…….due to opening of NRO any body can make the plan,they can kill any body anywhere to save their ministry and governament………..this must be investigated and the fact should be brought before the public and secondly police must be punished for for so low performance for such a high security convey,this shows their incompetence that any even terrorist can make an attemp………chief justice must be careful by himself as the gov. is himself the key victim of the NRO and they may not bother much about the security of CJ………….

once again another extremism threat. When will this end? The end has just began I think with the army operation that has started in South Wazirstan. The al qaeeda and Taliban are now running for their lives. They know they are loosing and thus they are using the media to damage control. The media should be on its toe how to fail their strategy as inshAllah that day is not far when Pakistan will be free of terrorism.
i think someone try to threaten CJ and gave the message that they can kill CJ with his family in accident.
I dont know why i am remembering the death of Mahsef Ali Mir but i think CJ should not fly in the Helicopter now.
