The News has reported the Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani is set to dissolve the cabinet next week and will replace it with 15 members cabinet initially.
The new cabinet will consist of about 15 members in the first phase while the expansion process will continue subsequently. All the ministers, ministers of state, special assistants and advisers will cease to stay in their offices immediately after the announcement regarding the dissolution of the cabinet.
Sources told The News on Friday that an ultimate policy pertaining to the formation of new cabinet and timings of the dissolution of the incumbent cabinet would be worked out at the highest-level consultations within two days.

There is one very important point which Dr Shahid Masood brought up in his programme and that is only two years ago when the election were held in Feb 2007, this NRO, these defaulters, confusion on Murtaza Bhutto murder were there in broad day light……then why the public gave a mandate in the favour of Zardari. If we do not accept the mandate of the Awam then we should call the mid-term election or we should accept the verdict of the Awam.

This is the time for Mr.Prime Minister to come out of the corrupt shadow of Mr.Zardari & associates. The ministries should be allotted according to the merit not according to the loyalties to the personalities. This the the time Mr.PM for you to prove that you want merit in every department ( your interview with Aaj Kamran Kay Sath ). If you fail to deliver you will go by drain in the history. For God sack keep the merit first . Don’t repeat the mistakes as in case of promotions of federal bureaucracy as the eligible and honest are running for justice and looking to supreme court. On a sad note, I read in another report on Dawn, the pressure to reduce cabinet was from IMF and the fired ministers would be ‘accomodated’ in other posts in PSO, SUI, PIA etc with similar perks and priveleges.

Why do our politicians always do things without consultations and objective. What is the purpose of firing all these corrupt and inefficient personalities and then replacing them with another 15 corrupt and inefficent bandits.
What the people of Pakistan want is good, honest, educated, experience, hard working patriotic persons and they are in short supply to be optimistic. What we also want is those who are corrupt and those who have plundered our country to pay a price. Unless you do these two very basic things amongst many other, no one is going to succeed. Prime Minister himself has made an ass out of himself in conducting interviews and press conference in English in UK when he does not understand this language nor can he speak. He would have done the nation much better had he used the interpreter services.

@ There seems to be a lot of truth in your reference to the DAWN report. Previously I was under an impression, (like most other Pakistanis,) that one only had, to have a ‘good-bye’ with the ‘highest’ & the ‘mighty’ in Islamabad in order to be ‘accommodated’ in PSO, PIA & SUI (Northern or Southern Gas Pipe Lines Ltd.)
Now, I fully understand why it is ‘essential’ to have one’s ‘connections’ abroad also, in entities like IMF/World Bank, etc; so that one is ‘looked-after’ in Pakistan as was done like the case of our former PM ‘Short-Cut’(or Shaukat) Aziz, who is said to have ‘actually’ made a ‘short-cut’ in order to reach the highest corridors in Islamabad of power to a post which was #2 to that ‘Khunzeer’ Musharaf.
Now it is clear to me why he earned the great title of ‘ short-cut’ to become a Prime Minister in a country like our beloved Pakistan?

I agree, as mentioned in Hasb e Hall, Zardari has given free hand to Gillani do whatever he wants regarding cabinet shuffling, but let RM continue as Intr. Minister because he got mssion from his foreign masters, and he should not be disturbed till mission accomplishes. “Who will forecast sabotage in Pakistan if RM leaves his ministry, and what will happen to Zardari’s Dhabantoo.”

Thanks seen the link. Sadly & very surprisingly, there is just not only one ‘buffoon’ in the cabinet. The whole world knows the biggest of ‘em all, i.e; ‘Ghadari’ who is a ‘joker’ by himself & who amuses Pakistanis & others of this world, by his own style of ridiculous behavior.
This will be a small step in the right direction; if only it will be materialized. Most members of the fedral cabinet are incomptent and have been unable to do the task they were asked to do. They should have been kicked out long time ago. Many of them are NRO benificiaries as well. Most notorious one is Mr Rahman Malik. It’s under his eye thousands of innocent citizenz have lost their lives. His performance dismal dismal. How in the world this imbecile individual is the security zar of internal security of Pakistan. It’s mind bongling. Even the terrorist are smarter than this man. Senseless killing of innocents will continue, as long as Mr Rahman Malik is the Security Zar.
Keep on dreaming. The day the PM replaces the cabinet, pigs would fly.
