Khalid Anwar made a good proposal to have a permanent, autonomous body to deal with corruption and every should ne treated equally, and the person heading it should be appointed in consultation with the Supreme Court Chief Justice. It makes a lot of sense to ensure its independence.
News reports regarding new proposed law are highly controversial which almost give immunity to everyone in office from being punished for any wrong doing.

Generally it is true nothing will happen, but continuous hammering on these issues would make a common man to understand and raise their voices. Some day I hope it would happen to force that change in the interest of our people and our country.

Khalid Anwar was saying chairman NAB should be appointed on the advice of the CJ, which is all well and good in the current scenario but what happens when current CJ is gone and another dishonest CJ like Dogar is at the helm of affairs, they should be something in place to protect against this, i don’t have any ideas on this but i am sure some PKP stalwarts will come up with some suggestions.

Khalid Anwar suggested on the advice of CJ, but ultimately it is the Chief Executive who will appoint chairman NAB. If all funtionaries PM, President and CJ are corrupt, then you are likely to get a corrupt Chairman NAB as well.

Otherwise it is a sound and powerful suggestion.

Secondly, I think chairman NAB office should be a constitutional position like central bank governor, who gets autonomy as well. Given such an environment then one hopes it should work.

But we must do something about pervasive corruption, which has eaten away everything now.

You are right when we talk to give responsibility to chief justice of supreme court we always have justice Iftkhar Choudhry in our minds. He is not going to be the chief justice for ever.Once he is gone menace of nepotism and corruption will be back.So there should be amendment in constitution to curve the corruption.

That is the reason why Muslims are in abyss. We are fighting with each other to make our worst enemy happy. Our prophet(PBUH) said never accept any demand of the non believers if you will accept one of their demand there will be another one and another ,one after another one.Take Pakistan example our cooperation started with logistic support and we have reach to the point where we have lost almost two thousand sons of Pakistan and do more demands are never ending.

AFTER getting a questionable civilian nuclear deal from the US, India has now signed an even more accommodating nuclear deal with Russia, on Monday. While the deal is being termed a civilian nuclear agreement, the nature of the deal provides military benefits as well. To begin with, the agreement places no conditionalities on the supply of nuclear fuel for India’s civilian reactors, including the five new ones being built with Russian assistance. In fact, according to this agreement, there will be uninterrupted nuclear fuel supplies from Russia even if bilateral ties in this field are terminated for any reason! Then, unlike the Indo-US agreement, the agreement with Russia allows India to reprocess spent fuel which could eventually be diverted for military purposes. An even more direct link between civil and military is provided for through the transfer of enrichment and nuclear technologies – a gain with no restrictions.

Above is a excerption of the editorial of THENEWS .See what India is up to and our leaders both military and civil are too busy playing dirty games against their own country.

WHILE writing off loans is a legitimate activity the banks have recourse to the world over, in the course of dealing with debtors who somehow become insolvent, in Pakistan it has been massively exploited by the influential sections of society belonging to, or associated with, the ruling classes. The total amount thus given away between 1982 and 2008 came to a whopping Rs 274 billion. Barring the earlier decades of the country’s existence, when such privileged people regarded even the charge of corruption as a matter of shame, the later period saw them first getting loans and then actively working to have them written off on devious grounds. Hundreds of billions of rupees have thus been swindled; the list of beneficiaries would read like a political, bureaucratic (civilian as well as military) and business who’s who; the losers, obviously, are the shareholders and ordinary depositors

THE US military personnel are based in Sihala Police Training College for the purpose of training our policemen. This is what the US government has been telling everybody. Certainly, there is more to it than meets the eye. Investigations carried out by this newspaper reveal that the deployment of the American staff is meant for the surveillance of our sensitive nuclear installations, the Khan Research Laboratories, that are at a short distance from the college premises. So far as training is concerned, no Pakistani official has ever received any kind of training from the US staff in the past six months. It has also been found that the US staff has stored large quantities of weapons inside the college. This provides grist to the mill of various reports in the media, both national and international, indicating the presence of special US squads planning to wrest control of our nuclear assets at the right time.

Eye opening story in THENATION . Make a move Mr Kiyani before it is too late.It is your responsibility. If you care about Pakistan and its nuclear assets act now.

FINALLY it has come out in the open that the US really does not know where Osama has been post the botched Tora Bora bombing. US Defence Secretary Gates declared that the US had no reliable intelligence about Osama’s whereabouts for years. Despite this ground reality the US has pilloried Pakistan for years by declaring that Bin Laden was in Pakistan. The truth is that the US has and continues to be confused not only about bin Laden but also Afghanistan in general. Obama’s policy statement and withdrawal plan has now been undermined by his own people who are retracting on the withdrawal time frame. In all their confusion, Pakistan has become a favourite whipping boy to abuse and slander at will. This is primarily our leadership’s fault for allowing itself to suffer such unmerited abuse.

We often hear a pandemonium of opinions emanating on one issue. For example finally Rehman Malik believes that there is Indian hand behind terror attacks against Pakistan but Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Salman Tseer do not believe that and denying any Indian involvement. Why every body is allowed to talk on sensitive issues? why responsibility to give government point of view is not put on the shoulder of one or two people and all others should be tell to be quite.Indians and whole world is making mockery of Pakistan leader ship and it is matter of great humiliation for the country if our leaders understand.

There is not even one person in the whole of the country who confessed that he is guilty.Instead every body is claiming he is innocent and cases were politically motivated. The standard of ethics has really been dropped to the bottom. We often complain about American hegemony in the world and that might is right policy is being applied by America.Be honest and see are,nt we have same policy in Pakistan. Our elite both civil and top brass is manipulating the rights of masses just because they have might.

This corruption and governance debate is good if it leads the nation to find a solution of this problem. No world is free from it, but no world has that worst leadership, which is involved in corrupt practices from top to bottom. Perhaps no army and no judiciary in the world would be that corrupt like we have. So, it shows that as a nation we have lost our social values and we must find a solution survive in this world.
