Dear Everyone,
We are delighted to announce the launch of beta version of PKPolitics Mobile. This site is now mobile friendly, and you should be easily able to use all the commonly used features of the site using your mobile device.
In addition to using to access news and share comments, the contributing members will also be able to watch videos on their mobile devices. PKPolitics Mobile has been tested with the iPhone and the iPod Touch, but it should also work fine with BlackBerries, Palm, Android and other mobile devices. We have currently enabled videos for all users for compatibility testing.
We need your help in testing it on different platforms so that we can resolve any technical issues with your specific mobile device.
Every member will be able to access videos during its beta testing.
Thanks,
PKPolitics Team
Warning: Don’t watch videos or access the site while driving, or anyother activity which can put you at risk.
Disclaimer: Please ensure that you have generous data tariff or a good data plan on your mobile plan as video streaming is a data intensive process, and therefore PKPolitics will not be responsible for any data charges incurred while watching videos on your mobile device.

Great news. Thanks Admin
I would appreciate if you guys can test it on your mobile devices and share your feedback.
Other than using it on smart phones, you should also be able to access basic functionality on your regular phones using Opera Mini browser, which is available for download at http://www.opera.com/mini/
Thanks
Congrats..
I’ve tried it on my iPhone and it works nice!
admin:
how i can download this application to my phone…as if i go to website on my phone…it does not appear the mobile version on my phone but a general version……please guide me….
I Love this web site “pk politics “….
Thanks Pkpolitics admin
Great news guys! Just one thing I would like to add here that the access to our voices worldwide is becoming easier day by day. We must avail these opportunities to our advantage and as we know the current situation of extremism in Pakistan is at its worst we must take this time out and speak against militancy through all the options we get. Our voice united as one can make a difference to the future of the country.
My N96 and blackberry 8900 both struggles and won’t play videos but try downloading 40mb video which eventually fails too.
First of all thank you so much for this much needed update.
i tried to play videos in my iPhone and found some issues like that
1-all videos who are dated “21 January 2010″ working great, no issue.
2-videos (tested top 4) who are dated “20 January 2010″ didn’t show the “Play video” link.
3-i didn’t check the other back dated video so can’t comment right now about them.
Please check at your side that is this really a issue as whole or my iPhone needs some updates, btw i have 3G 3.1.2 (7D11).
Again thanks for good work
Wonderful! Congratulations.
Great work!!
thank you its working fine
Admin,
I have Google’s Android phone “Nexus One”. It is unable to play videos and displays the message “Sorry, this video is not valid for streaming to this device”.
Tried on Nokia E63, won’t play videos but tries to download .mp4 video file.
I tried it with my Palm pre… and cant post comments..
@Rashid,
I re-encoded Live with Talat of 21st January 2010 for Android. Can you check that video again?
Admin
@DoubleU,
Can you double check if you are logged in? Secondly can you please also let me know if the videos play on Palm Pre?
Admin
I do not get play video option on BB bold 9000 even though I am logged in.
Way to go PKPolitics………………
@Time,
We have only encoded videos of 21st January. Can you confirm if you see links for these videos? Can you also confirm if you see the site in new format as in the above pictures?
testing comments from palm pre
@admin,
Video works as well… I like it
… The only thing left is the “Recommend Link” for the comments, when’s that coming?
Excellent Work! Finally concentrating on the site once again.
Now next step Blackberry please. There are more blackberry’s than iPhones in the world.
Excellent Work!
@proudummati,
Which mobile are you using?
@maikolachi,
Which model of blackberry and what kind of connection you have? The iPhones can play videos over both 3G network and Wireless LAN, but not all blackberries have 3G and/or WiFi.
The traditional blackberries have been the email/texting device and not designed for multimedia and high bandwidth connections.
@admin
I don’t see play video links with 21st Jan videos. Also site itself
Is same as it was before.
@time,
Can you try again now? I have added BlackBerry9000 in the list.
I just tried on N96 And its just opening the same massive page……. but not the mobile version you talking about…..:(

many thanks
@Rashid,
We use ffmpeg on our servers to convert videos to mp4. I have found the ffmpeg parameters for Android but they don’t seem to be working.
I want to convert the videos so that they continue working on Apple and Palm, in addition to Android.
Can you please convert any small video using any tools and test it on your mobile? Please email that video to me once it works and I will test it on other platforms.
Thanks!
When I click on play video I get this message. “safari cannot download the video”.

Admin
Does not work on my iPhone.
@Omar Qureshi,
I just finished fixing the videos of last 3 days. Can you confirm which one is not working? Please also let me know what kind of network are you on.
If possible, download “speedtest” app from app store and test your iphone bandwidth and let me know your speed.
@admin
I have sent to you a video that I was able to play on my Android phone, after conversion. There may be issue with Flash because Android still does not support Flash though they are working on it (http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2010/01/googles_nexus_one_will_have_fl.html).
@Admin
Will your PKPolitics mobile will work on my Nokia 3310?
