Update: USA Jury found Afia guilty of attempted murder
Pakistani neuroscientist Aafia Siddiqui went on trial in a federal courtroom in New York City on January 19, charged with the attempted murder of US personnel in Afghanistan’s Ghazni Province in 2008. The case against Dr. Siddiqui, 37, is rapidly unraveling due to lack of evidence and discordant testimony from witnesses.
It is becoming increasingly evident that the charges amount to a frame-up that has been staged to cover up the fact that Siddiqui, along with her eldest son, had been held without charges in the US military’s notorious Bagram prison in Afghanistan between 2003 and 2008 where they were subjected to torture. Two of Dr. Siddiqui’s younger children are still missing.
According to the account given by US authorities, Aafia Siddiqui was taken into custody by Afghan security services in July of 2008 after they alleged having found a list of US targets for terrorist attacks as well as bomb-making instructions and assorted chemicals

She was supposed to have shot some soldier but they was no fingerprints on the gun she was supposed to have used. This is just another fake and bogus case like that doggy dossier for weapons of mass destruction on Iraq.
Trial is over, jury is in deliberation. Prosecution and defense have had their closing arguments today.

Attorneys representing Al Qaeda-linked attempted murder suspect Aafia Siddiqui shocked a Manhattan courtroom today when they unveiled video evidence showing that two purported bullet holes in the wall of an interrogation room were there the day before their client allegedly picked up a rifle and shot at U.S. personnel. “The government says you can’t press ‘pause’ in this case, but you can, because we have the video and we pressed ‘pause,’” said lawyer Linda Moreno, as jurors looked at a still frame from a televised news conference after Siddiqui’s arrest.
According to the Post, the footage—produced the day before the outburst-prone neuroscientist allegedly shot at American soldiers and FBI agents in a police station in Afghanistan—clearly shows the two small holes, which prosecution witnesses said were evidence that Siddiqui opened fire. Siddiqui’s attorneys say the video, alongside the fact her fingerprints were never found on the weapon, mean there is no evidence the M4 was “touched by Dr. Siddiqui, let alone fired by her,” and that the prosecution wants to “scare you into convicting Aafia Siddiqui.” The 37-year-old was reportedly arrested with bomb-making notes and was wounded after grabbing a rifle and trying to shoot Americans in 2008, though she denies all wrongdoing and says she was detained for years and held in “secret prisons.”
Prosecutors say her shots might have struck furniture that was moved out of the room before the FBI arrived to investigate six days later. “Forensic science is an imperfect tool in this circumstance….You don’t have a good enough physical or photographic record of that room to know where the damage is,” said prosecutor David Rody, who also suggested Afghan personnel might have hidden the shell casings to cover up the “terribly embarrassing incident.” Prosecutors claim the differences between eyewitness accounts “are the hallmark of the truth” because they prove the witnesses didn’t conspire to frame Siddiqui, and that for jurors to acquit Siddiqui, they would have to conclude that government witnesses “lied to your face,” according to 1010WINS.

- The jury is NOT deciding if she is a militant or she has any ties with militants. She is being tried on case of shooting US soldier, that too during her illegal custody of 8 years, and that too where only Dr. Aafia got 2 shots in her abdomen. The American terrorists are not charging her on terrorism.
If there was any serious proof of any illegal activities, the dogs of Pakistani Army that kidnapped her along with her children or the American terrorists would have tried her in court till now.
May Allah forgive pakistanis for this disgraceful act and punish those who brought such a great trial and tribulation to Dr Aafia.

One thing can not be ignored that you are outright ignorant….She is allegedly caught with bomb making formula and land marks of NY in Afghanistan to attack NY….despite all these funni allegations she is not charged with count of terrorism…that alone is good enough to prove her innocence and your ignorance.
Authorities are embarrassed to charge her with count of terrorism because then things will go down to her abduction in 2003 in Karachi and then they have to cover the period(5 years) of her absence until she was allegedly caught in 2008.
A terrorist who left Karachi for Afghanistan in 2003 and did not perform a single act of terrorism all these missing years but then caught with some plans to destroy NY from Afghanistan….She had a Pakistani Passport with US Visa..how she can aboard a flight to NY from Kabul.

Dr AAFIA Siddiqui is a bright, intelligent woman who has been through hell having being kidnapped, tortured in secret prisons, gunned down by US soldiers and renditioned to America where she is now facing attempted murder charges against those who shot her. Only in the cock-eyed crosshairs of George W Bush’s War on Terror could this happen and I hope to God that the jurors who will go through the evidence during the next few hours, if not days, see through this rotten legacy and recognize the case for what it is … a tissue of lies enveloped in a web of deceit. The last seven years of Dr Aafia’s life could have been penned by a Hollywood scriptwriter, but instead all the folk from Tinsel Town could come up with was the rather tame blockbuster movie Rendition starring Reese Witherspoon. But several days ago those of us following the case closely were given a glimpse into the dark, mysterious world in which Dr Aafia has been forced to live since 2003. And more importantly the details were relayed in a hushed court not by any lawyer, but by the only person qualified to talk with any authority about dark prisons, interrogations and abuse – the account relayed to the courtroom in Manhattan, New York came from the mouth of Dr Aafia herself. Running for more than two weeks there’s been little or no record in the Western media of this shocking case other than some of the most ill-informed, embarrassingly skewed reports which indicate the noble profession of journalism is still in a narcotic malaise in the Big Apple. That the New York Times had to apologise to its readers on the front page for selling them short on the build up to and the unfolding war in Iraq, one would have thought would have had an impact on the quality of future output. That the US press corps, with the exception of The Baltimore Sun, had to play catch up after ‘missing’ the Abu Ghraib scandal speaks volumes.

Please keep your emotions in check, this was a decision by a jury in New York , where they had the September 11th incident. A lot of people were touched by that tragedy and could be biased about it. The young lady screaming about the Jew’s did not help also.
If the Pakistani criminally set-up government, or so called establishment can get a NRO with the help of the American Neo-Satans, they can also request for a presidential pardon on the basses of political fall out between the Americans and the Pakistani government.

NEW YORK: US Court Wednesday held Dr Aafia Siddiqui–a US-educated Pakistani woman as guilty of trying to kill American servicemen in Afghanistan.
The court declared its verdict on Dr Siddiqui at 2pm (local time).
Aafia Siddiqui, 37, a neuroscientist trained at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was found guilty on all charges by a jury in federal court.
She was accused of being a would-be terrorist who in July 2008 grabbed a rifle at an Afghan police station where she was being interrogated and tried to gun down a group of US servicemen.
Dr Aafia was present at the time of the verdict. She listened to the verdict with great fortitude. Also, her brother was present on the occasion.

@uthoyay&jazoo. Its not about brainwashing. The reality is that her children are U.S nationals and she herself had also applied for U.S.nationalty. I think there were some extremism elements present in this case and some shady areas. Give this link a read. You will find it informative.
