Article 177 of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan provides that a Judge of the Supreme Court shall be appointed by the President after consultation with the Chief Justice of Pakistan. The Additional Registrar stated that according to the record of this Court no consultation had taken place by the President with the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan regarding the appointment of Mr. Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif, Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court as Judge of the Supreme Court.
This has got nothing to do with the original recommendation of the CJ, This is a totally new Pandora’s box that our genius president has opened. He did not consult AT ALL before making these appointments. Whatever the meaing of “consult” he didnt do anything.
first recommendation sent by CJ was about appointment of Justice Saqib Nisar to Supreme court. and consultation was in process on this issue (no need ot mention that as per article 260 . CJ recommendation is binding in this case).
but there was no recommendation and consequently no consultation AT ALL on appointment of Khawja Sharif to Supreme court.
Hafeez Pirzada was ZA Bhuttos lawyer and he took him to the gallows. Now Babar awan and khosa are personally going to escort Zardari all the way to adiyala.
