Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani Monday said the Parliament has not yet granted approval to the judges’ restoration effected through an executive order and that he will not have any objection if the Parliament grants power of judges’ appointment to the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Addressing the National Assembly here, the Prime Minister said the government will abide by the court orders but it must be told as to who will make the interpretation.
Reacting to the earlier address by the opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar, the Premier said his relations with the judiciary are not bad and that “any interpretation by the judiciary will be welcomed.”
He said the government wants better relations with the judiciary and urged it to find a solution of the current issue. “I myself made the appointment of Justice Khwaja Sharif, so how can I be against him?” he asked.

This statement alone shows that the combined IQ level of PPP government is not more than 5.
I have been emphasizing that government wanted to gain time in the appointment of judges to build up pressure on the courts with the number of currently active cases. And they have successfully achieved this goal. They already knew the approval of the two judges would be challenged and they were sure to get time for which there was a real pressure building up. they have made them wait until the next hearing and then the decision and then again a recommendation summary.
Another important thing the PM said and had not been highlighted is “Agar long march chalta rehta tou hamari hakoomat bhi chali jati aur judges bhi bahal na hotay”. Whereas I think that restoration was bound to happen whether their government had stayed or not because it was one of the biggest pressure seen by any government. Credit goes to all parties including N, PTI, JI and all others who supported this issue and motivated their supporters to come out for it and of course the advocate lots. I wished someone from the opposition could reply instantly to each and every lies of the PM. Most of the time his government has tried to escape from something which was bound to happen. They just wanted to gain time and that could prove suicidal for them in the long run. Most of the big decisions have to be reverted back, and if you remember from the past, is not a new thing for this party. They decide under estimating the consequences as in this case, they had thought they would get away with this but they were caught very badly.
Other delaying tactics include sending Attorney general to Karachi and earlier, when they imposed governor rule, Zardari went to China.

This is a very dangerous statement, especially coming right after the notification conspiracy, where Zardari tried to usurp the power to decide the promotions and appointments of judges. The real reason for this clash, of course, is the NRO issue; the PPP has created this crisis to malign the judiciary and divert attention from its corruption cases.
I think we need to mentally prepare ourselves to participate in another round of the lawyers’ movement. The judiciary, led by CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry, did the right thing by striking the NRO. Any move by the govt to undermine the judiciary to save the skins of crooks like Zardari needs to be resisted very forcefully.

A free, power full and active judiciary which will use the top down approach toward’s the corruption, cronyism, the transparency of all the poetical parties and be the watch dogs of all the elections in Pakistan until we have a good system in place to weed out the criminal and insane elements of the society for joining the Pak politics.

Elected representatives have played a vital role in fighting the war against extremism. They have rallied in the much needed public support to this battle. What other options do we have? The rule of an authoritarian leader did not bring stability and other then that the Taliban do not offer excellent credentials of leadership as they have used young children and teenagers as fuel for their war.
The only sane option is to support of armed forces along with the elected leadership in fighting this battle.

Gilani is a nutcase who thinks himself more important even then Jahangir, who was the Emperor of Hindustan. His lavish life style and extravagant expenditure on foreign trips at the expense of poor starving nation shows how much self-cantered is he. In Punjabi, they say that if the opening of a pot is somewhat bigger, at least, the dog should feel some shame for taking too much liberty.
He is so boring with his repeated slogans of QURBANIS, SHADETS, PRISONS, etc. When he speaks, one gets the impression that he has gulp down lot of Multani Bhang. Instead of being ashamed of his past, he boosts about his criminal ignominious incarceration to look like the political imprisonment of Gandhi, Nehru and Mandela- He needs to understand that in Punjabi they say,’KUJA RAM RAM KUJA TAAN TAAN’.
Now, he is trying to blackmail the judges. The court should charge both him and his boss for contempt.
I am afraid that if PPP is not curbed in time, they will break the country, because A to Z they are corrupt.

A credible source in the Prime Minister Secretariat, while reading out the content of the chief justice’s letter containing his recommendations, told The News Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had referred to constitutional provisions, past conventions and principles as laid down in four different Supreme Court judgments for the appointment of judges to recommend the appointment of Justice Saqib Nisar of the LHC as judge of the Supreme Court, besides seeking induction of Justice (retd) Khalilur Rehman Ramday as ad hoc judge.
President Zardari, acting reportedly on the advice of Babar Awan and Latif Khosa, made history by appointing judges in sharp contrast to the recommendations of the chief justice even though his recommendations contained answers to every question raised.

The honourable retired judges of the superior courts as well as many of the senior lawyers and politicians expressed their reasons to condemn and oppose the two notifications. I am not inclined to believe that the fleet of legal eagles of the president were in anyway incompetent or unaware about the constitutional position relating to the said appointments. On the contrary, it appears the two notifications were issued after considering all aspects and provisions of the Constitution as well as decided cases, in pursuance of a well conceived and cunning strategy drawn in the president house. Even the timing of issuing the notifications was also consciously determined.

I understand that there is a meeting scheduled today with the PM, and if this Sikh PM will try to do deal with Ch Iftikhar then Ch Sahib might give him ‘ hari mirchi’. I can say with confidence that Ch Iftikhar will not do any deal. After Quaid e Azam and Liaquat Ali, I can say that now Ch Sahib is the most respected person in Pakistan.
Ifti is the most respected person? I thought that was Imran Khan.
