Total , utter and subtle but blatant and cynical way in which GEO has been used by the big corporate mineral water pushers(Nestle). Before you read on, I am a Doctor and know what I am talking about.
See how they scared people about water we get from taps (how long it took)
When Dr Umar (I was his house officer once, and he’s a gem of a person) wanted to mention the cheap, domestic way to clean water, he was given very little time and was almost cut out and rushed, to keep his message uclear.
This infact is quite dangerous as, the 100 gm of bleaching powder in only a litre is infact a strong poison. This is the concentrated solution, out of which only 5 to 10 cc (1-2 tea spoons) is then used to clean 10 litres of water. If you drink the original 1 litre you will struggle to survive. The message and the damger of this was not clarified in my opinion and this can have very dangerous consequences, if some one drinks straight from the oiriginal 1 litre. To explain this properly, you needed to give Dr Umar atleast 15 to 20 uninterupted minutes and what he gets instead was less than 2 minutes.
I was in FSC with Hameedullah and respect his sincerety, but what he or the other guy said is nothing new and had no positive impact or public interest value. Total waste of time. Just excuses and reasons why we need to put up with idiots running our country, who have their priorities sooooo wrong.
I sincerely hope that people understood what the good doctor meant to say, bles him and his hearsay stories.

You are absolutely wrong.Just listen to last 3 minutes of this show.
Hamid Mir particularly asked question about the mineral water and Dr. Umar said that it is also not safe.He gave a formula for cleaning 10 litre water by spending just 15 Rs.Its a great program and a great service to poor people.
I think you are jealous with Dr.Umar.
I visited Pakistan few years back.I knew from Pakistani people living abroad always complained about getting sick during the visit.Majority of them complain about stomach problem.I also know while living abroad that mineral water sometime is not clean. If it happens here than you can imagine what can happen in Pakistan.
So I decided to take portable water filtering system along with extra filters during my visit to Pakistan.I boiled the water first and than after it got littler cooler, I filtered the water. My stay in Pakistan was close to about 4 months since I went there to take care of my niece who was left orphan. During this visit I tried not to eat outside anywhere. And by the will of Allah during these 4 months everything stayed well.
What I am trying to say here that why not some rich people in Pakistan look into this kind of system where the labor is not expensive and while this kind of investment could do good for the people of Pakistan but also investor could benefit from it too.
With apologies from Munir Niazi:
Tum ne to bana li hai aadat hi Zardari apni
100 pyaaz bhi khaana or 100 joote bhi khana
I think Hamid Mir made history today by exposing a problem of a common man in Pakistan by labortary tests.
This is the first ever programe in the history of Pakistani media in which we came to know about death dancing in our kitchin and bathrooms.
