    Great Show

    Is it possible this could kick of some protests and eventually take the foam of a movement for the release of Sister Aafia from these barbarians in the west, its clear from the last many centuries they are still the same animals with no conscience or compassion for human life or suffering.

  • Hassan said:

    @Aftab

    It should become a movement. These western ruling animals are blood thirsty. They will kill their own nation (which they already are) to fullfil their desire for blood, let alone our nation.

    Imran Khan should be kicked out of the country.
    He is trying to use the emotions of the people in his favour.
    but people have showed him the way to England by giving only 3000 votes in NA55
    He should leave the country and stop degrading our president Zardari and Nawaz Sharif.

    Nobody has ever mentioned who Afia’s husband is? What nationality? What does he do? Does any body know??? May be she is paying for his actions. Imran is just cashing in on the situation. He is becoming a good politician but is on the wrong side of the history.

  • wbuttar said:

    @aligul

    The matter is not who is his husband. The matter is on what charges she is being trialed. If she has linked with Al-Quada, why you beloved U.S do mention these charges in the trial. Suppose it happened to one of your family memebers what will be your reaction. Imran never cash on any situation. It is 2/3 years old interview and today his stance remain the same.

    @amandamariaon

    I very well know the mentaility of you people with strange i.ds, you are surely working for a hidden agenda and If I am not wrong you are not living in Pakistan. Whats this programe do with NA-123, people elect him or not is a different matter but as a Pakistani and Human we should be impartial and do justice with any individual.

  • wbuttar said:

    “her husband”

  • socratese said:

    I agree with closing statement of Dr Moeed, Aafia’s mother and sister are not telling the entire true story. I also believe she is not all that innocent. She deserve trial and fair media to tell her side of the story. Where are the other children of Aafia? neither her mother or her sister press upon this issue. This whole issue is being played by both sides equally, means intelligence agencies and Aafia’s folks.

    As far as missing persons are concerned some decission is due on March 18th, Judges have asked all Concerned Federal Secretaries to present that day, but the organization who are mainly responsible, and towards who every one is pointing fingers means ISI and MI, they will not be present there, since they are not answerable to either Defense or Interior ministry.
    Moreover CH Iftikhar cleverly has kept himself away from this case this time because last time when he was taking suo moto notice of this issue he threatened to call in his courts DG ISI and DG MI, and then he was sacked, and this time he does not want to threat and nor he wants to be sacked. So this case of missing persons will be burried under dust forever.

    Dear these are all the tricks to get the support of the people.
    but our people will not be fooled by these tricks. some times he talks against president zardari sometimes against nawaz sharif and sometimes use these tricks.

    but he will not succeed and president Zardari will lead the country for years to come. we are proud of our president.

    Another great program from Dr Pirzada! Amazingly balanced, with carefully thought out interjections to keep all options open…I suspect he himself knew much more than what he coughed up….in due time we will learn more…I agree with Socrates that both sides are hiding facts… but Excellent Show!

  • bionicwoman said:

    @amandamarrion _ Who are you? your arguments are so out of touch with reality, so disconnected with all what we know and can reasonably believe that I suspect that your only and only purpose in writing these comments is to spark debate and nothing else…how on earth can you compare someone like Imran Khan with someone like Zardari? Good God! give me a break…the only man who is not doing politics to fool the masses in this unfortunate country is Imran..and this is his failure…he is ahead of his times… and I can understand when Dr Pirzada commented on Imran to be one of the rare breed of Pakistanis who has lived in the west from inside…millions of us have lived and live in the west but none of us are actually welcomed and accepted the way Imran has been ….in the upper echelons of western society…and that allows him the moral courage to comment on western mentality.. he is not even anti-west… he speaks like a BRITISH LEFT INTELLECTUAL…

  • bionicwoman said:

    @Socrates_ I fully agree with you that Dr Aafia may not be totally innocent either. And that her family also may know more than what they are willing to divulge and it is not only for the fear of the Intelligence agencies. This was an interesting program because one could clearly feel – especially in the end, with Pirzada’s carefully selected words that even he knows more than what he is prepared to say at this stage – however this does not mean that it is only Dr Aafia’s family who is hiding the whole story…it looks like that story is inter-twined in a way that Americans, Pakistani intelligence and Dr Aafia’s family all are hiding facts that show them in bad light… let me also add that Americans have demonized their enemies — which they always do like in case of Russians or Germans or Koreans or Iranians — in such a way that the moment you accuse someone to be from Al Qaeda you lose rationality and fear is instilled in minds….Aafia may have some relations, with some Al Qaeda or Arabs working against the US interests… afterall she had eccentric Islamist tendencies that also lead to her break up with her first husband — Amjad, the anesthesiologist from Karachi — and Americans might have picked up suspecting to find some real gold mine of information but subsequently they found out that whatever they have is not enough to convict her in a court of law… also her mysterious disappearance inside Pakistan and Afghanistan with children is not explicable unless we factor in some acts or relations with ISI and CIA or FBI or her own family….this is what I think after this program…this program had more meaning than what was visible on surface…Anchor also knew more, that was reflected in his questions and interjections — especially the very halting, carefully worded one in the end…

    I want to expose the people who are trying to destabilize the country. and Imran Khan is one of them. He can hardly get 3000 votes and he is asking for mid term election. and accusing president Zardari all the time.

    I accept he has done some good things, but this does not mean he should be allowed to destabilize the country.

    you are right he should not be compared with Zardari. A person who can hardly get 3000 votes how he can be compared with president of the country and the chairperson of the largest party in the country.

  • wbuttar said:

    If only votes counts then Musharraf also got votes. Even Hitler’s party was the biggest electroal party of Germany. At least Imran Khan got 3000 votes in NA-55. You leader Zardari even not dare to put his candidate. It is no become a fasion when any one criticize goverment wrong doings. They cursed him/them on destablizing the country.

  • bionicwoman said:

    @Amandamarrion_ it is a fantastic argument to say that Imran Khan is trying to destabilize the country…to say this is to say that those who speak truth are a threat to the country…
    Regarding Zardari winning votes: it was only a temporary phenomenon due to Zardari’s hold on PPP due to BB’s sudden death and exit from the scene..his votes are not his own, he has done nothing to win them except tolerating the woman who in the end, if life permitted, would have probably kept him away from her politics…and there is abundant evidence of it…. and unless a miracle like the one that was attempted in NA-55 is successfully done Zardari might not be able to win even Interior Sindh..I fear that even before the next elections…some criminal acts will be done to cash Sindh Card…because the way things are even Sindhis will not vote for PPP next time around in the same numbers which they have done historically since early seventies….

    I am proud of him because he is the most intelligent man.
    people are just jealous of his wealth and skills thats why they keep degrading him.
    but he will not go anywhere for the years to come.

    when he was in jail, no one could prove anything or harm him. and now its impossible that people like imran khan, dr shahid can do anything when he is the president.

    these people are just playing with sentiments of the people.

  • bionicwoman said:

    @Amandamarrion_ Oh God! Are you Faryal Talbpur or Azra Pecchecho to write these sentiments? … ” Jealous of his wealth?” … Excuse me what has he done for this wealth? every man in this world has a job, an occupation, a profession, an enterprise to show for his wealth…so what has your hero been doing to make his money? where is the money trail? … where are the Accounts? …

    When he was in jail..no one could prove anything? because he & his lawyers — thanks to a weak corrupt criminal justice system — would’nt allow trials to proceed… remember those ” Medical Certificates”…???? … and your Hero was continuously negotiating with Musharraf against his own wife… who knows who popped her off in the end and this Hero of your’s became the Dajal for this unfortunate nation….

    Jealous of his wealth?

    Dont try to malign Democracy & People who vote to chose their representation through fair and valid election process.

    Your Claim that Hitler’s Party was the biggest electoral party in Germany is incorrect and you as lots of people who either dont believe in democracy or belong to political ideologies who can never win popular majority, often comes with madeup example of Nazi Party’s majority in order to malign democracy.

    Fact is Hitler never came in to power via popular vote in Germany & his party was at the best achieved 2nd position but unable to have a share in power and only because of weakness of most Popular leader of Germany at that time ‘Paul von Hindenburg’ made it possible for Hitler & Nazi Prty to manuver and grab complete power .

    Read for reference:
    Halperin, S. William (1965) [1946], Germany Tried Democracy: A Political History of the Reich from 1918 to 1933, The Norton Library, ISBN 0-393-00280-2

    or read wikipedia for quick reference

    I hope anyone after knowing this will never try to villify Democracy by sayiing even hitler was elected & that failed politicians like Imran Khan or any other have a right to grab power via backdoor or thru any uncontitutional means.

    If votes are not good way to elect and judge a leader. what else is the way ?
    President Zardari and PPP candidates are elected for 5 years by the people of Pakistan and no one has the right to degrade them or asking for mid term election.

    @bionicwoman

    why president has to explain everyone the source of his wealth. If he explains the source of his wealth then you will find some other reasons to degrade him. its like never ending loop.
    He made his wealth by his competence and skills. and everyone admits it. this is the source of his wealth.

    Lahore High Court says only govt entitled to take action in Aafia case

    Lahore, Feb.9 : The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the Foreign Ministry to consult the Law Ministry and take necessary action for safe and early release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, who was recently indicted by a US court on terrorism charges.

    Hearing a petition filed by one Javed Jaffri, the LHC asked the concerned department to take necessary actions in this regard.

    Barrister Jaffri, in his petition had urged the court to ask the government to pursue Aafia’s case with more intent.

    Search for Dr Aafia’s daughter yields startling results

    Diplomatic sources have also told Daily Times that her repatriation would only be possible if Dr Aafia agreed to maintain her silence and issue no statements regarding her arrest and subsequent treatment during captivity in Afghanistan and US. They held that since the issue had become very sensitive for both the US and Pakistan, certain UK lobbyists had stepped in to ask the US to repatriate Dr Aafia to serve out the rest of her prison term in Pakistan. These mediators have also assured that she will maintain her silence while in Pakistan and there would be no cause for embarrassment for any concerned party. Ironically, these sources also revealed that throughout the Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s trial, Pakistan never officially asked for her release or repatriation to Pakistan, and that even now, Pakistan has to officially seek her repatriation before the current US administration starts thinking about it.

    It stinks of double standards when western countries talk about rule of law, accountability and transparency. Why shouldn’t she be allowed to speak freely isn’t that what fundamental rights are all about.

    I tend to agree with Mujtaba Ali , that this “person” is so far-off that it sounds like ridicule or sarcastic remarks, it has some comedy wrapped in tragedy…… The tragedy that we have a President with no morality and an international charge sheet of crimes and his ability to hire all his friends in crime in the government.

    Imran Khan is the only leader which makes sense and does not use “clichés” as talking points, like our holly Prime Minster and unholy President.

    With due apologies and not been called a heartless person, I am looking forward for resolution of this mystery, so I will not have to listion to her sisters child like voice coming out of a grown woman….again no disrespect intended……

    I am bit lost after hearing great khan sahib

    a) Khan sahib admits that in 2003 he became aware that Aafia sahiba was moving to her uncle’s place and then suddenly she disappeared. However Khan sahib conducted the press conference in 2008. So what did Khan sahib did in those 5 years. Why all of a sudden this urge to help Aafia sahiba?

    b) Khan sahib says that the country needs independent judiciary to protect citizens. It is absolutely correct. Between 2003 to 2008 Khan sahib was in parliament and the court was headed by the current honorable CJ. this is the period when there Aafia sahiba disappeared and nothing was done.

    c) Mohatarm imran sahib says that the government shall investigate yet doesnt trust the government nor the ambassdor to US.

    Politics and politics sometimes over dead bodies and most times over live bodies has become a norm in this world.

    For ‘hypocrite’ loser(s)

    a) Watch the prog again – carefully this time – and you will get your answer

    b) I thought missing person’s issue was one of the issues that put CJ on the clash course with Mushy.

    c) NO. It is more like government ‘should’ investigate. Since they dont, Pakistanis cannot trust the government.

    Politics for the people of Pakistan should become the norm !!!
