I do not have courage to write about this program. Pakistani Army and police is no better than the American warmongers and war criminals. How do people say that they are proud to be Pakistani and get a fit when I call myself American of Pakistani origin.

I applaud Hamid Mir for openly criticising Army. I do not agree with every thing he said or showed but I still appreciate his efforts.
When Army or agencies or law enforcement agencies fail to prevent suicide attacks they are blamed for incompetency. They are blamed for not being able to peneterate in terrorist networks. When they capture militants and interogate them to foil their future plans they are blamed for highhandedness and ruthlessness. They are walking on a tight rope.
JI harbors terrorists and when Army takes action against them they cry about human rights violations. Insurgencies are not fought by respecting human rights. Even the most civilized nations on planet have to keep human rights aside at the peak of the war.
I applaud Army and police for boldly combating the militants and in the process taking unprecedented casualities to keep us safe.
At the same time I don’t have any problem with Hamid Mir for pointing out these violations. As a journalist that’s his job as long as he doesn’t decome a mouth piece of militants.
As far as Punjab police’s routine investigation techniques are concerned I agree with Hamid Mir. It has to be condemed, exposed and checked.
Yes the program was very good.Hamid Mir exposed not only Punjab police but also Punjab Army’s highhandedness in Swat but i noticed that Hamid Mir never mentioned the word “Army”.Yes he showed visuals already available on internet in which Army commandos were beating 70 years old man in Saidu Sharif police station but Hamid Mir never said “it is Army”.
Yes he invited Haroon Rashid in his show and first time provided him opportunity to give his point of view that how his 80 years old mother was killed by Army but Hamid Mir never condemned what Army did with a 80 years old women.Disappointment.It was a half truth.I expect full truth from Hamid Mir.

Najam Sethi was never among any missing persons. His American handlers were given access to him even when he was under arrest on sedition charges after saying in India that he wanted Paksitan to finish and become a part of India.

There is lengthy argument about military role and history of martial law etc but let me tell you that I am agree with your objections and reservations about army role. The only problem is that you remember Gen Yahya and Gen Musharaf but what you don’t remember is those hundreds of JAWANS and officers martyred in this (controversial) war of terror. This is Army who is trying to save us from those intruders backed by US and India. Even if we just put all this on side still we just need to know that Pakistan is our home and if there is any problem in our home we need to tackle it we don’t need to make a fight on it to prove our point. We need to do an effort to resolve the issues we are facing either from army or from politicians but we need to stop blame game.
