If you guys had compare Talat’s interviews with Genrals like Tariq Khan, Abbas Ather even ex-military men with those he did with politicians, police and others you didn’t to ask Muhammad Usman.
Talat is GHQ’s hit man like Zaid Hamid. He asks very blunt questions to politicians that we have absolutely no problem with as long as he can maintain 10% of that tone when he talks to military leadership. If instead of asking questions to Genrals you give them talking point to elaborate their view point and ask politicians all kind of questions what ‘d be the impact of it? People will think military leadership is capable and politicians are not. PMLN, PPP, judicary no one can stop military interventions unless masses stand by them. How ‘d people stand by political forces when they are told politicians are incapable and Genrals are competent to govern.
The reason it doesn’t happen in India or US is bcaz Genrals are not projected by media as saviours. Prof. Ibrahim yesterday very rightly said GHQ controls media and Talat is the prime example of it.
I used to admire talat a lot and i thick intelectually he is way above all anchors. he ha sdone great programs.
But OFF late he was intially subtley and now openly trying to discredit politicians and system. i am not 100 % sure that this is by design/ intention or intellectual exercise.
for god sake give politicians enough time.
bring jurnails, beaureaucrats and journalists to show and grill them like you do soft target politicians.
like take for example statement by aaj correspondent save country not the system.
what does that mean sharef should join hands with jurnails and topple elected govt of president zardari– media must not say this.
I support president zardari, nawaz, asfand, altaf and any other politician even person like pervaiz elahi becuase i believe in democracy and letting the system run.
let politicians complete there term. i can bet they cannot fool people more than 5 years.
