Noted religious leader and chief of the Aalmi Majlis-e-Tahafuza-e-Khatam-e-Naboowat (AMTKN), Mufti Saeed Jalalpuri was gunned down along with three associates on Thursday in what is believed to be a targeted attack.
Earlier in the day, an attempt was also made on Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Nadeem, a leader of the banned outfit, Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), in which he was injured, while his son lost his life.
The police said that the attack on the religious leader took place on late Thursday night, when Mufti Jalalpuri, along with his 11-year-old son, Uzayfa, Mufti Qamar Zaman, Mufti Ateeq-ur-Rehman and two others, was heading home after attending a Majlis in the Sohrab Goth area.
The Majlis had ended after Isha prayers, and the men headed back in Mufti Jalapuri’s car (APS-312). When they approached Al-Asif Square police post, unidentified terrorists apprehended their car, and opened indiscriminate firing. The assailants were carrying deadly arms, including 9mm pistols, Sachal police claimed.
Bystanders and passersby immediately shifted the injured to the hospital; however, the men succumbed to their wounds.

Appears to be a big conspiracy.
God help us.
There is no neat categorisation of Muslims. Since there is no established authority among them, since the clergy are scholars rather than priests, the Ummah covers a pretty freewheeling bunch. Even the millennium-old Shia-Sunni, or even intra-Sunni, divides, are no guideline in this new debate, since the modernist-traditionalist divide (or rather spectrum) cuts across sects. Both modernist and traditionalist are radical; for the traditionalists are not conservatives, for they propose substantial change, and can only loosely be called reactionaries, so far back in history have they fixed their reference points. However, oversimplifying for the sake of argument, the modernist-traditionalist debate runs into basic difficulties.

OK this seems to be a big conspiracy so can’t really say anything as of now who were the terrorists. It can be something sectarian of a sort that resulted in the death of the child as well. More importantly the violence that the citizens are becoming immune to needs to be condemned and stopped as soon as possible. People involved in this should be punished strictly!
First They were not “Religious ” leaders .They were from banned Sectarian Terrorist group SSP ,These groups have involved killing of Shias and suicide bombing in Pakistan by Supporting Taliban and Alqaida .Some shia groups have been involved killing these Sectarian leaders
Muslims believe that this anomaly of possessing organic intelligence is the greatest gift bestowed (Hab) byAllah on humanity.
Thus, this gift has a beneficent conferrer which the Muslim calls Allah. Muslims believe that Allah has granted humanity a gift that has placed the future of earth within their hands.
The humans have been given dominion over the earth, air, and sea. It is up to humanity to decide whether they will ultimately become a beneficent and caring giver, or a destroyer.
Allah has bestowed the humans with intelligence and each of us needs to use our own wisdom and humanity to decide what way is the best way to treat each other. Both of these organizations have very powerful names and sound like they are the soldiers of Islam or protectors of the prophet Mohamed being the final one.
The question is are they using this by logical arguments and spreading the true teachings of Islam or by violence and militancy? Violence breeds violence. It is most tragic to hear the Islamic scholars getting killed, assassinated or blown with their family and friends.
Pakistan is the only country where one group of Muslims will declare the other infidels and will start an internal war against each other. People can not accept the difference of opinion on politics and will kill people, burn them alive or will create gangs and try to subdue them on the web sites by mass organized personal attacks, insults and calling each other names.
Pakistani people are an ancient people and they are highly intelligent and have a long history to learn from, but groups of Religious, ethnic and members of political family run mafias and their foot soldiers and their hired goons have systematical made the Pakistani society intolerable and sadistic at times.
Any criticism is answered by insults, verbal assaults, generalizations and flat-out madness, instead of civil conversation or argument. The fanatics last argument is to kill the other person or insult him/her and ridicule him or her to the point of braking their will to speak again.
I do not want the so called patriotic Pakistanis attacking me for being an American or sinner or a man who has the courage to talk about his family, because all that is about one very average and irrelevant person in big the scheme of things. Muslims of Pakistan must be taught tolerance and rule of Law.
No one person, political party, ethnical party, religious group should be allowed to have organized armed wings and ability to create fear of death and destruction to make their point of view orbelief, the supreme.
A country which is run by the criminals, murderers , ethnic mafias, personal armies, political mafias, ethnic mafias and tribal armed militias is a disasters in making and a very freighting place to live.
The Pakistani government must enforce the existing rules of law in the books and create new laws against the religious, political, ethnic and tribal armed militias and gangs and must use the heavy hand of law to crush them.
You can not allow a state with in a state to run via violence and brutal techniques, like target killings and bomb blasts in each others mosques, religious outfits and political and ethnic gatherings.
The yesterday attacks on noted and respected cleric in Karachi are the continuation of violence which aims to create chaos in Pakistan. This tragic incident should not be taken just as an act of sectarian violence as in the bigger picture the Taliban are taking the cover of sectarianism and targeting those religious leaders who have adherently opposed their ideology.
The true motives of such assassinations need to be investigated upon and meanwhile the leaders who have shown the guts to speak out against Taliban we need to give them the much need protection.
This could be an effort by the terrorists to start sectarian violence among us. The recent attacks on shiat’s in muharram and then the killing of a religious leader all point towards a specific group trying to ignite the fire of sectarian violence among us.
“This could be an effort by the terrorists to start sectarian violence among us.”
Oh, so “official”.
Surprised no one mentioned:
Zaid Hamid named in Jalalpuri murder FIR
Case lodged against Zaid Hamid, others
Shias don’t have any issue with finality of Prophet Muhammed. So this can’t be the result of shia sunni issue. Qadyanis(Ahmedis) on the other hand do have serious issues with finality of Prophet Muhammed.
Besides Zaid Hamid, absconding MQMized grand terrorist Altaf Hussain is acting as spokesman and staunch supporter of Qadaynis these days. I am sure Mufti sb must have talked about that coward British terrorist as well which it seems eventually lead to all this, those who attend his majlis could shed some light on who might be pissed with him.
