I don’t know about others but for personally i want people to be honest and upright and these parliamentarians who cheated they way into assemblies must face the penalty of going to prison and being banned from standing as MNA/MPA for life.
I tell you this Abbas Ather is being really cynical. We all know the superior judiciary has been siding with dictators in the past but on 9th March 2007 they was a change and it was a positive change where they went on this path of defiance against a dictator and eventually it culminated in them striking down his second Marshal Law.
The politicians unfortunately have not reformed themselves and are still stook in they past misdeeds of corruption and incompetence.

You have summed up the argument very well. I concur with your thinking. These three old boring men telling us their old fashioned thoughts is not going to solve any problems. The problem is not “fake” degree’s. It is that these parliamentarians have lied. Once you are a liar you do not deserve a chance to hold a public office. Period.
I hope the nation can see how these liars and other corrupt parliamentarians then go and choose a convict as our president. Shame really. None of them deserves to be in the assemblies. As Rauf Muhammad has pointed out they could not take out one resolution to defend our citizen Dr Afia.

عباس اطہر یہ تو درست ہے کہ کسی اخبار نے ڈکٹیٹر کے آنے پر یہ سرخی نہیں لگائی کی غاسب آ گیا ہے توکسی سیاست دان نے بھی تو یہ نعرہ نہیں لگایا کہ غاسب آ گیا ہے وہ سب اسے خوش آمدید کہنے والوں میں سے تھے مٹھائیاں بانٹ رہے تھے اور ان کی دوڑیں لگ رہیں تھیں کہ کسی طرح انہیں کوئی وزارت مل جاے یہ باتیں آپ کو یاد کیوں نہیں ہیں-
ِI just want to say one thing Abbas Ather yes going against constitution is crime and dictators should be punished for that but does it mean fake degree is not a crime ?
Athar Abbas Lifafa, if going against Musharaf’s law is not a crime, them what about those who made a deal with him (NRO) and gave him safe exit.

You are absolutely right Ather Abbas was stressing so much about breaking of constitution by Musharaf but what about the PPP government who gave him guard of honor before running from Pakistan.PPP government not only made a deal with Musharaf but aslo they were in touch with Musharaf for many years shamelessly.
Most fake degrees of our parliamentarians are from real universities. The only one believed to hold a real degree from a fake university is Babar Awan, the country’s law minister. Does that make him smarter than the rest?
On the comments of Habib Wahab ul Kheri that he was tortured by ZA Bhutto for criticizing him in Lahore fort Abbas Ather did not say a word.Obviously that was not what he liked to hear.It is real shame just because some of these so called intelectuals write in the news papers they think their opinion is most wise, even the dumbest one.

I will to comment on the statement made by Irfan Siddiqui that no body criticize Judiciary,military or agencies every body only criticize politicians.I want to remind Irfan Siddiqui simple reality that judiciary,military and agencies are not elected people but politicians are.Another thing politicians make so many promises before the election where as other three do not have to.
I agreed with Haroon Rashid that if law of BA degree was wrong it was needed to change not break it and secondly our politicians welcomed Musharaf on the sacking of Mian Nawaz government. Our politicians have no moral character.
