The anchor in this discussion looks and sounds the most idiotic. His job is to elicit opinion, not to jump into the discussion with pre-concieved ideas.

    Good job.

    Good job.

Very heartening to see that we have people like Asia Riaz, Saleem Safi and Irfan Siddiqui in our society. All three defended very well and dismissed the idea that democracy has failed, it is only the govt. of Zardari which has failed. Army is no solution at all. Hats off to this lady Asia Riaz, she was very very specific and ruled out any military intervention. It will take back the country to square one. We have to remember that all this mess was created by the army. They are responsible for the polarization of the society.

Shame on you Mr. Moeed Pirzada, now it is clear that you are actually a stooge of Bhatta force. This MMA (Military MQM Alliance) is no more accepted. Shame, shame, shame on you.

it is the system which has failed, 5 or 6 chances were given 1988, 1991, 1993, 1996, 2007 but each time worst results… democracy is a system of elites who only protect their interests-

I fully agree with Nuzhat Ahmad.this was most hopeless show of Dr.Moeed, whereas the other paticipants, though did not get due share of time because of incessant intervention by the anchor, presnted thier views in a more convincing way.

yeah yeah.. Pakistan has gained too much in military rules.. separation from bangladesh, siachen, river diversion and closure, balochistan issue, collapse of judicial system, extremism implantation and exposure and corruption of socio-political system were all done in Democratic periods. huraahh.. we are ready for another khaki regime..
do we Pakistani’s learn from history? do we? do we? no we dont my good sire and we wont..!

The most nut head anchor, cannot believe, he is not ready to listen. he just towing his line with out giving others a chance to speak their mind. My way or high way :) , good opening statement and then complete waste of time.

I would like to add one more thing, if any body (advocate of Military) would like to read “Military Inc. — by Ayesha Siddiqa” from Kings College London and differentiate between Pak Military and East Indian Company.

irfan siddiqui is paid by nawaz sharif, he is as loyal to nawaz corrupt as is hassan nisar to MQM.

  • Aamer said:

We are giving a way too much attention to Altaf Kalia. If he is so sincere with this country and really wants to do something for this country, then MQM should get out of PPP govt so we can have midterm elections. How he can blame govt when he himself is a part of it.

  • amer said:

Does people really think that there is a democratic system in place in Pakistan ? In PPP and PML- N there is dictator ship . True democracy is only unfortunately in jam at-islami . People don’t like that particular party because of it’s views .
I think to expect that by allowing these parties to rule the country and allowing them in election after election will filter the bad people and one day as a result of this on going election process will eventually good governance will emerge is a total nonsense .
Martial law is not the solution but the current system is not the solution as well. The intellectual and well wisher of this country need to think about this .
At least dr mooed pirzada is trying to provoke these thoughts.

  • aawan said:

This Irfan Siddiqui guy has no shame. Journalism should be ashamed of him the way he act as mouth piece of PML-N. He should join PML-N and say good bye to column writing.

  • Tornado said:

    @aawan

You are right Haroon Rasheed should have been there instead of Irfan Siddiqui.
Anchors should keep on changing the mouth pieces of different parties.

  • usman55 said:

@ Tornado …. lol … this is the most idiotic statement ………. No matter how loyal Irfan Siddiqui is to PML … no one in the world can come close to licking someone shoes (Imran Khan and Army) when it comes to Harron Rashid ……….. !!!!

  • aawan said:

I can quote countless columns of Haroon Rashid where he criticised IK and Army, but Irfan Siddiqi treats NS as “farishta” . One day you will have NS statement and next day he will produce a column full of “qasida goi” of same statement. He never found NS wrong, not even by mistake.

  • KAWA said:

I feel corruption is a lesser evil than the murders and ethnic cleansing being carried out by MQM in Karachi. Don Altaf is deflecting attention from the real issue. Imagine the biggest “daku and qatil” is out to guide the masses of Pakistan…. This joker has no idea how much the country hates him and would do the opposite to what he states. I feel that if Altaf had stated that Democracy should continue, media and people would have opted to support Martial Law and we would be having a pro-martial law discussion.

Now for the “nokar tabka” who sat on the ground to listen to Don, would have clapped whatever the “thug” had said. If Don had said that Pakistan should again become a part of India, the nokars would have clapped.. That is their job and to avoid getting slapped, they have been trained well.

Why you are so pissed and go insane when any body criticize NS who used to sit in the laps of Gen Jilani. You guys need to grow up and be able to accept the facts.

NS seems to be Kaa’ba for your type which is root of Pakistan’s problem. Please try to come out this sick and slave state of mind.

I just read couple of random comments after watching the program. doesn’t make sense to me why people are criticizing Dr. Moeed. He explicitly mentioned the topic in the very beginning.

O people of pakistan the biggest plus of democracy is that it filters worse and bring out lesser worse … and so on things get better … do not let them become shaheed again .. do not let them be victims and get sympathy of public ..

I wonder if most people who commented here had actually watched the program from the beginning till the end? or are actually as brain dead as Aasiya Riaz and Irfan Siddiqi had proved themselves in this discussion?
unfortunately most tv viewers are as brain dead as these comments show…Dr Pirzada was repeating throughout the program that military cannot come back in Pakistan because military has no solution to the problems of Pakistan so military or democracy is not the debate, however many across the country have sympathized with Altaf Hussain’s statement because the political system as it exists also fails to deliver…and may be it’s high time to find what can be done to improve the system and he was desperate in the end because poor Aasiya was continuously stuck in her mind on a debate between military and the democracy…which has been the debate in newspapers and many programs but was actually never the debate in this particular program…unfortunately Pakistan so far has experienced only two kind of systems: Military Dictatorship and Civilian Dictatorship… there is so far very little in terms of democracy…for instance parliaments and elections and media were also functioning under Musharraf, in fact all this free media mushroomed under his rule, what has really changed? and though people beat a lot around this like Aasiya and Irfan Siddiqi were doing but no one can really point out what has changed? how is Zardari/Gillani system any more democratic than Musharraf/Shaukat system? try answering this in honesty and you see the real problem..

    @bionicwoman

many happy returns of the day if you have watched the programme
people may be brain dead but you seem to be free of brain as you took 6 days to comment on this programme
you don’t worry about democracy and dictatorship
does not matter if democracy is not delivering at the moment…let it flourish in the country first…system itself will filter it like other countries
and don’t compare pakistan’s democracy with american democracy…american democracy took hundred years to reach this point…but in pakistan people start barking after two years

you only come here to say “wah pirzada wah”
and another girl like you comes to other programme to say “wah azizi wah”
so you people keep on doing your job
but dont force others to say wah pirzada wah
