China trade now bigger than US

China has leapfrogged the US to become the world’s biggest trading nation, bringing an end to the US’s post-war dominance of global commerce.

The total value of US exports and imports in 2012 was $3.82 trillion (£2.4 trillion), the US Commerce Department has revealed. China’s customs administration has already announced that the country’s total trade last year was worth $3.87 trillion.

Economic growth in China, India likely to quicken:

(Reuters) - Emerging economies will lead growth in 2013 as the global economic outlook remains challenged by the euro zone's debt crisis and high unemployment in the United States, according to a report released on Wednesday.

Growth rates in and around Europe look weak over the next 12 months with an expected expansion of 0.2 percent in the eurozone and 1.1 percent in the United Kingdom, according to Grant Thornton's quarterly International Business Report.

Economic growth in the United States remains weak and unemployment high, while growth rates in China are expected to pick up to 8.2 percent in 2013 from 7.8 percent, while India is expected to quicken to 6.0 percent and Brazil to grow 4.0 percent.

Business optimism in Brazil, Russia, India and China, also known as BRIC countries, increased in the fourth quarter of last year.

The survey of 3,200 business leaders in 44 countries found that optimism in the BRIC economies, all deemed to be at a similar stage of newly advanced economic development, has increased to 39 percent in the last quarter of 2012 compared with 34 percent one year earlier.

The so called jihadis were defenders of the American interests during the cold war between America and Russia. American supported them to build an iron wall against the growing communist influence. America toppled ZA Bhutto's govt. with the help of the same political mullahs. These political mullahs are not indigenously grown. These mushrooms were grown up to defend the interests of the capitalist block.

Pakistan can only make economic progress if political molvis are confined to their mosques and madrassas.

Religion and State affairs MUST be separated from Pakistani society if it has to make any noticeable progress.

Majority of Molvis are against women's education and no society can make any progress without educating its 100% children population.

Quote:
'China, Malaysia and Bharat are fast growing economies of Asia.'

If this statement is correct---
Then----that could be due to non interference of Religion into Politics.
Our Scholars talk much about the progress of China, Korea, Japan, India and Malaysia-------
But ignore to highlight a liberal social and cultural attitude of government and population.

With all due respect people please don’t bother commenting on topics as Economy or specifically Asian dominance of global Economy.
“Pakistan will remain at the same position. Don't get excited”
Lots of people say China is the next super power. Well, it’s not. It’s not even close to the US.
Such brain farts expose’s your mental paralysis people so stick to your petty issues like who is granting immigration status easily, how easy it to get food stamps, Medicare and how easy it is to get IRS tax return with bogus claims blah blah ….
Ahh IPHONE AND GOOGLE ANDROID alright
So first of all in which country every single part of Iphone is manufactured and assembled? UNITED STATES OF AMERICA? Or in Asia (CHINA /TAIWAN)…?
Who wrote basic programming codes of Android platform? Larry Page and Sergey Brin themselves right let’s see what will happen if all Chinese Indian and Pakistani Apache and Linux kernel engineer’s leave Android at same time….it will be interesting. Same goes for Apple IOS same goes for CISCO and HP….
Now I don’t like posting links here but to get you out from your mental paralysis
CHINA AND INDIA combine are producing more engineer’s then all western countries

Asian, European and US exports

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Global_Economy/images/chart261112a.gif

China's exports to Asia vs USA

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Global_Economy/images/chart261112b.gif

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Global_Economy/NK27Dj02.html

"What does the United States have to offer Asians?
It is borrowing $600 billion a year from the rest of the world to finance a $1.2 trillion government debt, most prominently from Japan (China has been a net seller of Treasury securities during the past year).
It is a taker of capital rather than a provider of capital.
It is a major import market but rapidly diminishing in relative importance as intra-Asian trade expands far more rapidly than trade with the United States.
And America's strength as an innovator and incubator of entrepreneurs has diminished drastically since the 2008 crisis, no thanks to the Obama administration, which imposed a steep task on start-up businesses in the form of its healthcare program.

Washington might want to pivot towards Asia. At Phnom Penh, though, Asian leaders in effect invited Obama to pivot the full 360 degrees and go home."

People get attracted for the migration to the countries where natural resources are greater in ratio of population. Japan has been the 2nd. richest country of the world, although, its natural resources are very poor in ratio of the population. China has also grown up on the lines of Japan. China does not have great natural resources in ratio of the population, but the good discipline has transformed it into a rich and developed country.

Economy is just one of the factor that determines whether a country is a super power or not. It is possible that a country supersedes USA in terms of raw economic power and not be a super power.

The greatest factor that makes a nation a super power is its ability to attract hard working and sharp people from other parts of the world. They give the same opportunities to these people that they give to the natives. In turn these people work their guts out and contribute to the greatness of the nation.

Since the start of the 19th century, the USA is a magnet for people who want to live their dream and make something out for themselves. They are the real reason for its technological dominance.

Lots of people say China is the next super power. Well, its not. Its not even close to the US.

Tell me. Millions of people from China would like to leave it and immigrate to USA and seek opportunities there. Would any one from the US would want to go to China and make it his/her permanent home?

I have been to China and I can tell you it is gonna take them another 50 years to get where United States is today. You may find fastest numbers of Billionaires in India and China but what about their multi-billion population which is still living in terrible poverty.

There has been very pro-Bharat and anti-China propagandas in the Western media. The West tried to strengthen Bharat against China. No doubt' Bharat grew up as a powerful country in terms of economy and industrial centre. However, China grew up much greater than Bharat.

As per your statement:

“The Paris-based Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said China's economy will be larger than the combined economies of the eurozone countries by the end of 2012, and will overtake the US by the end of 2016”.

==============================

It's not my statement, this is the prediction of world’s very important Paris based economic cooperation group called "Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)".

You can forward all your facts highlighted in your previous post about China and India to OECD and request them to reverse their statement/prediction.

1. Still 70% Chinese and Indian population cannot afford to go overseas.

2. 80% Chinese and Indian population cannot have access to decent healthcare.

3. Pollution in both India and China is 15 times worst than a European city. I have been to Beijing and every second person wears nose mask in that city. I am not sure about Mombay city but I have heard pollution is one of the worst in the world.

Are you planning to move to China?
Would you send your kids to China for higher education?
When would you stop US bashing?

Look at the bigger picture; and do not get impressed with few wealthy individuals getting richer and richer. This is the main problem with Asian mentality where people get impressed with the wealth of few individuals.

Where are you living my friend, you want us to discuss more than 1000BC concept, which people/groups/countries are using since the early civilizations.

Everybody doesn’t need to produce everything. Go and read “Competitive Advantage Theory”, you will find the answer of your question. In the meantime enjoy below news:

“The Paris-based Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) said China's economy will be larger than the combined economies of the eurozone countries by the end of 2012, and will overtake the US by the end of 2016”

It is still hard to beat technological supremacy of USA. America bashing is favourite past time of many forum members.

I would say my iPhone 4s is still the best smart phone and superior quality of iPad is unmatchable.

The West supported Bharat to offer competition to China. Well, Bharat grew up very well with the Western support, but the West's mission failed becuase of the unexpected growth rate of China. China left behind not only Bharat but became a challenge to the economic giants like Japan, Germany and America.

=======

This may be true, but one can see smart phones by all companies having many things similar, particularly the processors, software etc.

Apple or any other company won't bother as long as someone doesn't become its competitor.

The Japanese industry evolved on the world horizon with a new industrial concept of manufacturing disposable items. They developed the products which were affordable and conveniently usable. That was how they swept a large part of the global market. Now, China and Bharat are following similar policies.

Agree with you that apple phone is superior but what about price. Ultimately people decide on "value for money" basis and that is why Sumsung is NO.1.

Rolls royce might have superior cars but Toyota is NO.1 car company and their business model is much more successful.

Asia-Pacific To Launch Talks On Giant Free Trade Zone - AFP

PHNOM PENH — Southeast Asian nations will launch talks this week for a giant free trade pact with China, Japan, India and other neighbours aimed at easing the region's reliance on the struggling West.

The planned zone would would span across 16 countries of the Asia-Pacific that currently account for a third of global trade and economic output, making it the biggest free trade area outside the World Trade Organization.

Rajiv Biswas, Asia-Pacific chief economist at IHS Global Insight, described the initiative as "strategically very important to the Asia-Pacific as it would help offset weaknesses in the United States and the European Union".
