This is not the first time. A hafiz-e-quran belonging to Jamat was brutally killed and then dragged on the streets of lahore tied to a motor bike on the same allegation. Ofcourse, the crowd was gathered and incited to violence by a shamma-e-risalat kaa parwana yelling and screaming at his loudest from masjid loud speaker to behead the malo'on shatim-e-rasool as Islam is in danger. Allegation, judgement and persecution - all took place in a matter of 4 hours.
This happened in mid-90s when we only had PTV otherwise the shamma-e-risalat kaa parwana would be made a hero by our azad media and ulema-e-ikraam.

Our nation has a mob mentality! If they had 2/3 armed person then they will be the first to run for their lives. It's just that they are shair (lion) when they see someone unarmed! Kaghazee shair of our nation.

Interesting thing is, molvi sahab himself never does it. He incites other people to act and then moulvi sahab cash the incident to become an important personality. The police chief, Deputy Comissioner, even MNA would come and negotiate with moulvi sahab. Moulvi sahab itni importance milnay kay baad aasmanoo mein urnay lagtay hein aur khud ko sipah-e-salar type cheez samajhnay lagtay hein. logo ko baat baat mein fakhar se batatay hein kay meray pass DC aaya thaa, phir police walay aur MPA bhi aaey thayy.
He is the second most despicable character after choudhry sahab.

At first siasi moulvi used to use the name of islam. Since that does not work as effectively anymore, they are ready to use the name of our piyaray nabi himself to make political gains.

Why is Imam Masjid given only life sentence? Isn't the punishment for blasphemy death? Why are religious groups not protesting on it? Where are champions of naamoos-e-rasalat now?
Blasphemy issue is just power politics nothing else.

@Sufi: The law says death sentence for blasphemy. How is this court decision according to law?
Also where is Mullah's movement against such un-Islamic and un-lawful decision? akhar naamoos-e-rasaalat ka maamla hai.
