If you have tawakul, faith, worldly education, the ability to undertake diplomacy, belong to a community that are known for their technological/educational/research advancements, have respect as a person within your work and peer groups......... do you not think that we can achieve so much more?!?!?!?!?

Excel in deen and duniya. No doubt but after calling spade a spade. The western secular education cannot be accepted as it is. It has to be evaluated, scrutunised and brought in line with Quran and Hadith before dwelving into it. As one well known scholar from Malaysia- Mohammad Al Attas said: you cannot mix one drop of lemon into water and call it pure water. Same goes with knowledge. You cannot adulterate it with secular sciences and call it knowledge. First you need to cleanse the water of all impurities of secular infested ingredients before labeling it as pure. The concept of ilm-knowledge and a aleem- knowledgeable is not same as Western definition. Aleem is an attribute of Allah SBT. In Islam, the Abdul Aleem is one who is close to the source of knowledge that is the Creator, hence the criteria of tawakkul and faith is paramount.
Understand your view point.
I don't think I once referred to Western Secular education. Education is education. The broader the better. If there are Muslims that are able to scritinize, approve then educate the children accordingly, then great, there is nothing better. But our state is dire.
If you are starving, and nothing else is available, you may save your life (not have a vast meal) save your life, by eating haraam. (Attempts are being made here to be common-sensical, please do not misintepret as misguidance away from halaal on my part). Our people are devoid of knowledge, are misguided into the realms of superstition and bidaa. The connection with Allah is so loose and misguided that it becomes easy for Shaitaan, secularism, baqwaas of any manifestation to take hold of weak hearts and minds which results in chaos and anarchy within our lands and people.
Educate with what is available around you, the longing for more knowledge will cause you to make dua for more avenues of righteous knowledge. Allah will open the doors to these avenues.
Where logic, wisdom and sense fails, the non-sense of Nuclear Technology might work to clean up the dust.

Forget those that preach separation of religion and science, deen and duniya, after-life and worldy existence; ignore them. Those that do are incomplete and can never offer holistic solutions to our problems.
The only way for Muslims to move forward is to recreate the era of educational prowess. Advance in academia, sciences (all of them), arts(fine and other), re-learn our true world history. Excel in understanding of Qu'ran as an applicable guidance within each and every aspect of our lives and being.
Our collective vision is marred in this era of history. Each one of us has a vision impairment of some degree. Meaning we need to revert ourselves back to the Qu'ran and Sunnah, having layed our foundations upon solid ground can we build ourselves up with education and knowledge practically/academically. We need to become competitive in all the markets of the world as Muslims. Become self-aware and self confident in our skins, our identities, our ethnicities our deen.
I would sincerely like to say for atleast the next 100 years we need to forget the white-man, the West, the non-muslim and simply concentrate on strengthening ourselves, the Muslims worlwide.
Get ourselves out of the ashes and into the light.
Become a collective pheonix that all others would aspire to become, flock towards, or at the very least question with an intention to understand the secret of our success.

Sure, we will forget him but he will not forget us and will keep poking his nose 24x7x365 from Morrocco to Indonesia. His shadow will always be there and wouldn't leave us unless we eradicate it as Salahuddin Ayoubi did and chased the crusaders back to their lands. Right now the great satan has one foot in Afghanistan and other in Iraq, MidEast and its tentacles everywhere from Turkey to Indonesia. Don't misquote. Science and technology as taught in schools and colleges is definitelt haraam if it denies existence of God Almighty and Prophets and Shariah. Sure it is haraam if you are taught bandar ki aulaad secular education.
Whatis required is to bring science and technology within theframework of Quran and Hadith and not vice versa.

I guess you have completely misunderstood the chechens posts. All nations experience ups and downs. Now technology is coming from the west so western vocabulary is creating its space in every language and in the past when Arabs were at the top it was arabic language which did the same.
Unfortunately in our times our nation is falling down day by day but that does not mean that it will be the same always and it will change only when intellectuals like yourself instead of only criticizing will work for the future plan and will identify where we went wrong.
Now coming to the topic, the purpose to initiate this thread was to identify that in my opinion our real problem is not Talibans, our real problem is the foreign hand which is supporting talibans. These morally, religiously and technically corrupt people could not fight with anyone until some one is training and supporting them for his own benefit.
