Those of you who have been to Saudi may have seen the shuttle monument on corniche that took the first "Muslim" astronaut, so called Prince Salman into space. A relentless media hype was done for that "feat". Allah only knows how much America milked Saudi to get that playboy into space.

A nation that prides itself in directly producing astronauts has no clue to the progress of a nation. Any nation that values progress and aspires to uplift its citizens has to start with humble professions and methodolically climb the ladder to a astronaut or scientist. This attitude of relying on foreigners to even cut their hairs is nothing but disaster in the making. The limit was set when they "bought" the foreign armies to protect them. But money and oil has its limitation. They have to wake up before they get a rude shock.

RIYADH: A man touted to be the first Saudi barber ever to open a salon of his own has decided to quit the field for want of customers after practicing his trade for over two years, Al-Jazirah daily reported on Monday.

“I decided to close my salon in the Al-Rawdah neighborhood in Riyadh because of two reason. Firstly, no Saudi patronizes my salon, and secondly my partner left me alone,” said Ahmad Huzzazi, who has the distinction of being the first trained Saudi barber, who graduated from the Vocational Institute in Riyadh.

The local media made much ado of Huzzazi’s debut as a barber two years ago. At the time he said he was encouraged by a soft loan given by the Abdul Latif Jameel Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises, which enabled him to rent and set up a salon. “I could not repay the loan in full because of the failure of my venture and other obligations,” the barber said.

He could only repay SR15,000 of the total loan of SR55,000. When he told the ALJ Fund about his difficulties, it reduced the monthly installment from SR1,696 to SR945. Huzzazi said he offered his salon to another barber to rent.

Saudis always use filipinos, pakistanis, indians to cut their hair....

    first Saudi barber? unbelievable.

Saudis dont do this sort of labor under most circumstances... they use Bangalis as slaves and Indonesians as maids.

if you stay there for a while you will know what im saying.

    Brothers and Sisters,

Let me add an incident from the Khilafa of Omar RA about dignity of labor.

Once Omar RA was having a halaqa with companions when one of the companions noticed a beheshti-water career passing by. It was one of the lowest professions in the society during those days. He pointed at him inadvertantly saying "look at that person working hard". He may not have the intention of degrading him at all. But Omar RA noticed that and kept quiet.

Next day the streets of Madinah were witnessing a spectacle they had not seen for long time. They saw Omar RA delivering water from house to house. The companions rushed to him and cried: Ya Ameer al Momineem. What are you doing?
Omar RA shot back: Never look down at any profession. I want to remind you all that every profession is for Allah and never ever point at someone lower than you.

SubhanAllah. That was the dignity of labor that we need to learn and emulate. Unfortunately we think it emanated from West but it is very well part of our heritage.

    ya point well made chechen,
Saudis give absolutely no "dignity" to labor.

all what their young generation wants to do is to escape to Bahrain for a weekend to get as drunk as possible.

    Daur-e-Jaahileeya.

yeah fine, Pakistan has remained a poor country with lots of illiteracy and chaos, but even we arent as jaahil as these arabs who have all facilities but remain dumb.

    Posted 2 years ago on 08 Sep 2009 17:59 #
  10. I do not really belive arabs are dumb or jahil...

yes they lack technical ability and cannot learn as well as we can. but they are not dumb....

they have zero sectarian issues almost.

    they have steady financial systems

they have gora to serve them

    they are not dumb.

On my recent visit to saudia I was treated with utmost respect and I was pleasantly surprised that the Arabs treated me very very nicely along with Pakistanis.

I have lived in middle east and I have seen them treat non Arabs harshly which I condemn but once you put yourself in a begging position, of-course they will beat you.

They have been brain washed by molvis that they are the chosen ones thats why working with hands is a low thing to do,but I am sure they are capable of doing it and kingdom supports them no matter what!

The king will give money to anyone who is able to get admission to any university....and I can prove it. MIT has seats bought by the kings for their people but sometimes they cant find anyone to come, which has changed now....many arabs have women from non arab countries and their kids are studying ....

    they play excellent football....

they are not as jahil as others......

    Mulla!

hmmm... maybe you are right Mulla. that might as well be the other side of the coin. ;)

but my experience does not really match up with that... maybe its because i was not in the educated metropolis of Jeddah or Riyadh.

they are not capable of working with Hands,,, thats for sure.

Ever heard of Lawrence of Arabia? He was the one who brainwashed those bedoins into nationalistic "Saudis". I met saudis too and they never want call themselves "saudi", the name of a tribe.

One of them told in an interview: I am a Muslim who happen to be born in this country you call Saudi Arabia. As long as monarchy of corrupt Kingdom continues nothing good will happen in this country you call Saudi Arabia.

The biggest Munafiq is one who eats from the provisions of Allah and lives on the premesis of Allah's vast creation and does not thank Allah SBT but gives credit and thanks for the provisions to a country, King or a President.

  16. Nabi Allah s.a.w said, those who do not "thank the people" are actually not thanking Allah..."
