If there is judiciary/executive deadlock and army intervenes to conduct midterm elections in 2010, I think result will be:

    15% MQM
    30% PML-N
    20% PPP
    10% JUI-F/JI/JUI-P
    10% TI/Independents
    15% ANP/PML-Q

    End result= ZERO CHANGE

  3. Appears quite realistic, but shall we include 'rigging' by the army itself in favor of xyz or not?

there will be rigging in fata and some other areas where there is either very low turnout or wadera/chaudary are totally in control

but end result would be same "Khichri" with no party winning a majority

every election costs 52 billion to Pakistanis..
I think to end this election drama we need once for all govt comprising all the political parties leadership..

In/Out of the govt should be related with the results of the politicians Ministry..
We should creat electing of the govt without any cost.

This election cost is one prohibiting factor for election!

They would suck our blood and pay for election cost. So let this govt complete its term as even the next one would not change our lives.

JJ your distribution of the seats seems fine. This hung type parliament gives another excuse to our politicians for not delivering.

  8. @ Dear Sufisoul,
One good comes out of the expenditure during Elections that all the money stays into circulation within Pakistan.

It helps to create more economic activity and exchange of wealth just like so many other social cultural activities.

    (I don't favor Mid-Term Elections)

  9. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

Munawwar Hassan in an interview in the program Islamabad Tonight 18-Aug-2009 said that he wouldn't even call the change, a change when asked about Mid Term Election.

Recently, a dawn news article said the same.

I disagree with the %ages which JJ has mentioned in his first post. Moreover there might not be mid term elections but a national government comprised of clear persons, may be formed. Lets see .... Coming weeks are quite interesting .

@JJ khan, aap se 100% disagree kerta hon.. mager End result se 100% agree kerta hon.

Mid term kaya.. rozana bhi election kerwa lu.. Till the day, only factor to reach to power become true vote only.. nothing is going to change. All we need, a process where every voter and candidate is must sure, that there is no other way to come power but vote (as they did successfully in India). Despite corruption, despite everything, we would start marching in the right direction.

    my assessment was based on:

MQM will have same number of seats in Karachi/Hyderabad

PPP will have about same number of seats in interior sindh/south punjab

PML-N might get some more seats in NWFP & Punjab

ANP will lose seats again to JI/TI/JUI

    Same independents
Same families will have control on who to allot party ticket and who to make winner

End result 'King Makers' hold and retain power.
