  1. A dozen top Pak Army generals to retire this year

    ISLAMABAD: Twelve top generals of the Pakistan Army, including the chief of army staff and the chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, are likely to retire between March and November this year, while eight others will call it a day by September 2011.

    This will mark the end of a generation, which not only saw a phenomenal shift from conventional to digitalised war strategies, but also served under two martial laws.

    I already started this discussion under the;

    Thread: Promotion of 29 brigadiers to rank of maj-general

    Yes, the list of people going out, and others coming in is big.

    But those who are at the top remain at the top. They are not going out.

    (1) First there was no elections in student unions

    (2) Then there was no elections in most of the political parties

    (3) Then there was manipulation in national general elections

    (4) Now this. TOP level Generals are not being constantly cycled through these posts

    What does the trend show us ?
