    netengr, If we assume from your selection of Iqbal's poem that wataniyat is idol worshipping. Are you now leaning towards Khilafa? Better late than never.

    I consider Watan just as an Administrative autonomy and it is nothing to do with the religion ,If people are happy to live in one administrative unit what they call "country " with their basic Islamic rights then is does not mater weather they call that country Islamic or Not .
    2-State or Country is always divided on territorial ,linguistically or racial ,And the main issue is economic .What I believe that Islam neither ask to have one country for all muslims not it stop muslims to make their own country .
    I am sure If the concept of Khilafa you have is implemented will not last for years just because people from the rich areas will not be agree to share their resources to the poor then fight will begin .
    Lets suppose Bangladesh want to unite with Saudi Arabia and form "Khilafah " whould you think Saudis would accept to share its oil resources with 200 Millions Bangalis ?

    netengr, I lived in Saudi Arabia and there are lots of folks that do not even call themselves "saudis". They are type of people who do not even consider it as "their" wealth. They think it is trust from Almighty. They say the Prophet SAS shared the "wealth" of IslM with all world and they should do the same with oil Wealth.

    The above song from 1959 Pakistani movie "Bedari" was a very popular song.

    However, I was disappointed when I came to know that this song was a copy (CHARBA) of song from 1954 Indian film Jagrati:
