Now someone would think k y only these activities...so the answer to that is k healthy activities are few and far between....playgrounds and playing conditions are barren..people cant afford to go out and enjoy with thr families cz of mehengai...and even if they do there is always a scare of a blast anywhere anytime or the fear of gettign killed or being looted. CNG is the next doom instead of boom and soon there would be either a rise or may be a crisis.....so i think once you get so much fed up of all this...the bad things since they are more attractive...people tend to move towards them becasue pessimism always lead towards committing bad deeds.
one might say that we should moev more towards our deen as this could be the right time fr our ulemas to spread the light and put courage in us....but unfortuantely...most of them busy somewhere else..no offence..!

Yes, both these activities are on rise in whole Pakistan, however underlying reasons are different. One thing is for sure that this has nothing to do with government corruption. I am not surprised some people are trying to blame Zardari for this which is obviously non-sense.

As long as there is tolerance for the theological basis present for calling each other kafir and killing each other, and justifying the violence taking place, in the name of Islam and blaming outsiders when the reality is opposite, people will unfortunately lose interest in Islam, and turn to other avenues.
It is the fault of the religious leaders that they have failed to counter this hatred based version of Islam and instead turned into apologetics. They have downgraded the sanctity of human life. They are the most to blame.

i remember I was with group of friends and we were taking picture on outside terrace of masjid-e-nabvi.... one ****/indian bearded man comes and says "SHARAM KARO! KAAFIRON KE KAAM HAIN YEH #$%*)($". We kept quiet to respect his age otherwise there was lots too say.
different areas/location of land have different habits/hobbies in pakistan.
you can find different habits in karachi, different in quetta, different in lahore and different in peshawar.
a particular area is never exempted,
where women are freely moving in society there habits are different,
the socities having prohibitions of women movement there adultery is common.
our society is full of wrong doings.
where alcohel is not available there people get the way and use samad bond/charas, heroin, opium etc.
so one particular area can not be blaimed.
Khan-sahab is requested not to get angry for pashtoon belt. evils are present every where.

During my practical life , I found the people from NWFP very friendly, honest, hospitable, straight forward, and loving.

I am not denying existance of Napier Road or Heera Mandi or whatever.
There is really no need to get hot under the collar. Heera Mandi exists in Lahore, frequented by Punjabi, Sindhi, Pukhtoon etc... anyone who wants to buy flesh or sell flesh, ethnicity is irrelevant.
So with that most important detail out of the way, there are wrong-doers in all areas of Pakistan, yet another important detail. However, the most obvious fact is that Pakistan is indeed bleeding. Further, right now, for too many months, Pukhtoon blood is being lost. Lost in the form of Talibs, lost in the form of IDPs, lost in the form of 'collateral damage' during army operations, lost due to poor living conditions (conditions both sides of the D-Line).
I am Punjabi. But the shedding of Pukhtoon blood in its various forms is a despicable fact right this minute.
Adultery and alcohol consumption may well be on the rise in Pak... everywhere in Pak. ~(For the love of God, no need for an East/West complex ridden counter-statement for this.... both these vices are indeed on the rise in the West, due to freedoms of all things and lack of limits within society. But similarly these vices are on the rise in Pak due to poor governance, difficult living conditions, lawlessness and a societal distance from the 'rope of God').
Indeed, when members post lop-sided or biased writings one is compelled to put the other to rights... however, a cool-headed response, embibed with wisdom of word and fore-thought is fitting not only to correct the other, but also to teach haq for remaining members.

Look, reason I mentioned NWFP is because of the unique reason behind this issue. There are no opportunities for people to take out their frustration. There are no recreational activities and also because of the fact that sexes are very strictly segregated in NWFP. I call this - keeping your women inside locker - but people tend to read it in a different way and usually reply with crude remarks.

Khan Sahib, I dont have stats but you are probably right, alcohal consumption is way more in KArachi and Lahore than in Peshawar. Agreed. There is way more pre and extra marital sex committed by people in Karachi and Lahore than by Peshawar people. AGreed again, but really this is not my point. You somehow think I am trying to defame pakhtoon for reasons that are beyond me. People in NWFP are traditionally considered good follower of religion compare with Karachi or Lahori awam. If you suddenly see a rise in non-islamic activities in NWFP, you have to think why?? This is the reason I am more concerned about Peshawar than Lahore.
My point is, there has been too many unjustified self-placed restrictions on people in NWFP which has forced them to indulge in such activities. These are the consequences of ignoring human needs and nature and forcing people to conform with false and artificial ideologies.

Hey NNL, I was reading this book which claims ibn-e-monkey theory was first presented by 2 muslim scholars at different times.
The book is called Khutbat-e-Bhawalpur.
The gentleman quote book names and name of the scholars who presented the idea and also the year when it was presented. The books are kept in some European meuseums and the gentleman also has an original manuscript of the theory.
