
Peshawar: The United States has deployed hundreds of soldiers near North Waziristan area of Pakistan, bordering troubled-Afghanistan.
Sources said that the US forces have also shifted heavy cache of weapons besides gunship helicopters in Khost province of Afghanistan. The province is located near to Pakistani border.
Tension prevailed among locals after the news emerged in media, the sources said. The locals have informed Pakistan’s political administration regarding the US advancement close to Pakistani border.
The US forces have also started door-to-door search operation in Khost province, but their is no report of any arrest, the sources added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s political administration said that they were closely watching the advancement of US troops. They said Pakistani forces were also ready to tackle the situation.
Curfew has also been imposed in North Waziristan causing large queues of heavy and light vehicles near Pak-Afghan border.
It is pertinent to mention here that several American legislators have demanded operation in North Waziristan, but US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta had cleared that American has no plan to launch military action in Pakistan.
Tension between both the countries prevailed after former US admiral Mike Mullen leveled allegations that Pakistna’s ISI was supporting Haqqani network.
