Get more cricket match fixing revelations in the News of the World
Following last weekend's match-fixing world exclusive, the News of the World is to reveal sensational new revelations over 18 pages of tomorrow's newspaper.

This includes:

* The News of the World publishing full details of the ENTIRE investigation starting in January this year including printing the transcripts of every meeting, conversation, email and text exchange.

* An explosive claim by a member of the Pakistan touring team that some of his team-mates ARE cheats. Opening batsman Yasir Hameed tells us bent teammates were fixing "almost every match". He said: "They've been caught. Only the ones that get caught are branded crooks.
"They were doing it (fixing) in almost every match. God knows what they were up to. Scotland Yard was after them for ages.
"It makes me angry because I'm playing my best and they are trying to lose."

* How the ICC are now probing a FOURTH Pakistan touring player over match-rigging claims. The News of the World is not naming this player for legal reasons.

* The three suspended Pakistan players face a staggering TWENTY THREE ICC charges between them - each charge runs to six pages.

* Exposing the rantings of the Pakistan High Commissioner who outrageously claimed that the News of the World had "set up" Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif. CCTV evidence proves the meeting with fixer Mazhar Majeed took place before any "no balls" had been bowled. Dated receipts and emails also prove the money handover happened BEFORE the "no balls".

* Pakistan Captain Salman Butt was warned FIVE TIMES about his responsibilities to report any irregular contact with outside agencies. And investigators have recovered between £10,000 and £15,000 of marked News of the World bills from the Pakistan captain's hotel room.

Yasir Hameed just denied (on Geo) giving any interview to NOTW or expressing such views to anyone. Let's see what 'proof' NOTW has to offer.

it is unclear that Yasir Hameed was saying this about himself or commenting about the total lot of the team. According to the reports he was talking about other players and that he tried to perform his best lekin baqiyon ne paisay khaye huay hain.

Wajid Shamsul Hasan and government is crazy to be supporting a sinking ship. Marked currency that was given to that bookie during sting operation have been recovered from players. They are likely to get nailed . Wajid Shamsul Hasan believes that like in Zardari's case we fooled the whole world and made the biggest con man in the world as Pakistani president so we could easily pull this one off as well.

Filth has come out. They have published yasir's photos n they would publish video on his denial what i predict. English media never publishes scam without safeguarding themselves legally.. We r dirty, characterless.. rather than accepting our filthy acts, we r proud to blame for own crimes...

Why our ambassodar is involved:) the reason is very clear... Every dumb man knows tht Ejaz butt was whose choice.. and when millions of dollars r being made by players n team management ...some percentage must go for masters tooo

بے غیرتوں کو ملک کی عزت کا ذرا بھی احساس نہیں. بات کر کے مکر جاتے ہیں. اس ملک نے ان کو اتنا پیسا اور عزت دی اور ان کی حرکتیں دیکھیں. اب اس ملک کو دنیا میں عزت حاصل کرنے کے لئے بڑے بڑے لٹیروں کو لٹکانا پڑے گا ورنہ آپ سیلاب میں لوگوں کا رسپانس دیکھ ہی رہے ہیں. دنیا میں ہمارا امیج بڑی بری طرح خراب کیا ہے ان سب نے جو کہ پہلے ہی زرداری جیسے لوگوں کی وجہ سے بہت بری طرح متاثر تھا.

I expected NOTW having a video like the one above as 'proof' but i thought it would be from a time before this affair broke. Pretty silly of him to get caught on camera over the last week.

BTW: Though honest, it is certain to get him in trouble with the ICC to for not reporting those incidents where he was offered money and what he knew about the players.

But here I want to talk about Afridi, our current 'captain'
Though the story says:
"Afridi was not one of the players Majeed had in his pocket."

What follows is a pretty severe indictment of him:
"I could have signed Afridi five years ago...."

"But he (Afridi) is the kind of player who you have to kiss his a**e every day if you want to manage him. And I am not that kind of person."

Of course I believe Mazhar Majeed is describing Afridi accurately("(Afridi) is the kind of player who you have to kiss his a**e every day") and Afridi is the player I personally suspect the most. And the fact that he was made captain when his performance was so bad itself had me suspicious of him being on the take even before this thing broke. And then his having been made captain again for this tour confirmed it for me. Mazhar might not have him in his pocket (nor want him) but some one does. His performance is too erratic to be naturally so.

BTW: Someone better investigate the "deal" Afridi has with PCB/whosoever forcing Pakistani players to wear clothes and use equipment with the "BOOM BOOM" logo.

I just caught a piece where someone close to the players in London (sorry did not catch who it was) was defending Yasir and saying till last night NOTW was blackmailing Yasir, offering him 40,000 pounds to tell more or else they'd release the video. I don't doubt that. The person also claimed they were sending Yasir these messages by SMS. If that is true, Yasir has a record and he should IMMEDIATELY release them.

Yasir Hameed appears drunk in this vdo - looks as if he was trying to impress his company.
However, I do think in the team, there are a core of players who are corrupt.
Shahid Afridi is one person who I think is honest and clean as far as fixing is concerned.

Following the latest match-fixing allegations to emerge on Sunday, Yasir Hameed attended the Pakistan High Commission in London to explain his comments. He spent four hours with officials before issuing this statement

I would like to respond to comments attributed to me by the News of the World today. I wish to stress I have never been approached by the NOTW and neither did I approach anyone connected with the News of the World to disclose any allegations concerning the Pakistan cricket team or any other players.

The incident which was largely inaccurately reported in the News of the World today was when I was having dinner with a friend at the Holiday Inn Nottingham on the evening of Monday 30th August 2010. I was then approached by a man who introduced himself as Abid Khan and offered that he would arrange a sponsorship deal for me with ETIHAD Airways. I have now seen a photograph of the so called Abid Khan and have discovered that he is Mazhar Mahmood.

Naturally I was interested in what he had to say and we began conversation. He offered me at least £50,000 for the deal, which was for 6"x3" ETIHAD sticker at the back of the cricket bat plus TV and billboard advertisements in the UAE. He also asked me for names of 4 more players who may be interested in a similar deal I thought of Umar Gul, Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal and Fawad Alam.

I also called Umar Gul during this conversation to tell him about this potential contract deal and he agreed that I should continue with the negotiations. Then Abid Khan started asking about the current match fixing allegations and as I saw him as a friend and a potential agent I naively started to answer his questions. He asked me about the match fixing allegations against the current 3 Pakistani players and if I had any further knowledge. As far as I can recall I only told him whatever I had already read in the newspapers about this matter.

It seems that Abid had a hidden camera which I was totally unaware of. I then left the hotel with my friend and came back to where I was staying. Two days later Abid then called me and offered me £25,000 to give a statement against the 3 current players under investigation, which I immediately refused and put the phone down. I neither called nor answered any calls from Abid after this conversation. When News of the World released my conversation, which Abid Khan recorded without me knowing about it, I was contacted by the media in Pakistan to confirm if I gave the statement to the NOTW, I denied categorically as explained above that this was not the case. Subsequently, I received a text message from Abid Khan from his number 0** **** ***6, which I found to be intimidating as reflected in his message reproduced below:

"Pls call me. Incidentally you are in video drinking wine and saying all the quotes attributed to you. Denying it is just stupid as we will be releasing the video to tv. Better that you stand up and speak the truth!!!!."

However, I decided not to respond or react. I brought the matter to the attention of PCB.

Nice to know that Yaser Hamid likes to live on Halal, for this, he turned down £150000 Haram money. As far his drinking white wine, well it only looked like water, so why to make fuss about it.

Moreover, It is possible that his wine and dine at Holiday Inn was also Halal, after all our oil rich Arab brothers have introduced Halal sausages and Halal drinks in England, so they don’t appear backward. likewise, our cricketers are no way less than these wealthy Arabs, so one should not expect them to break their day long fast with Miki Ki Roti and Saag or Daal Roti. Modern people must look forward-looking, even if they are with fake credentials.

No matter how scandalous the affairs of our cricketers might be, but for sure they are still not as disgraceful as the statement of our High Commissioner. His U turn in less than 24 hrs shows his intelligence, it is a sheer shame for the country. I am sure the British press will take full advantage of his dumbness. Day by day, we are loosing at every front.

UK is quite good at exposing the match-fixing corruption in Pakistan, and I wish they also expose their govt & US govt on how they do match-fixing in political games, there zero doubt that political matches are totally fixed and they are the ones who do that... they tell us about small thieves but themselves are major thieves..

I am disappointed how media and Pakistani public reacted on Yasir Hameed's interview. The reason we are in this mess because we are putting this under the carpet for 20 years. All those who demanded tough action against Salman, Asif and Aamir are now bashing Yasir Hameed. Are we nuts or what?

The way Yasir Hameed is clamped down no other player will dare to speak against match fixing mafia. Player like Afridi and Shaohaib Akhter and Akmals will resume their notorious activities. I think after Imran Khan we hardly have any clean cricketer. And the main reason is voices like of Yasir Hammed are snubbed down by match fixing mafia, media and masses alike. Shame on us for jumping on him for telling the obvious truth that our agents are usually our front men to bookies. We as a nation are financially and morally corrupt.

Banning players for life, confiscation of property, heavy fines and a 2 years jail sentence can act as a deterrence for future players to stay away from match fixing.
