ISLAMABAD: In a rare development, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) self-exiled chief Altaf Hussain on Saturday telephoned Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

Altaf and Imran pledged to adopt a joint strategy in future on drone attacks, the Raymond Davis issue and other matters.

Talking to The News, PTI spokesman Tahir Jamil said the MQM leader was highly appreciative of Imran’s stand on the key national issues, including the recent release of CIA contractor Raymond Davis and drone strikes.

This was the last hand shake Imran Khan needed to complete his flip-flop resume. Now he has supported and opposed every creature and ideology on the planet :)

its a good move.... MQM. Jamat e Islami, Achakzi's pakthoon kwaha party, and Threek e insaf should get together and get rid of JUI, PMLs and PPP.

Pakistan;s middle class need to get united under one banner some how.

    @shirazi

    Buddy, you are COMPLETELY wrong.

Sitting together on a well defined, limited point agenda does NOT mean you support the person you are sitting with or that person's ideology.

When Imran Khan sat with Nawas Shareef and Benazir, it was only for Judges restoration.

There was no "liking" or "disliking" of their respective ideologies.

    Same here.

Learn the ABC of good and honest politics and then try to criticize Imran Khan.

  10. Best news of all in a long time if PTI, JI, MQM and, the new one for me, the Pukhtoon Party join up together and defeat all the others at the next polls.

We'll have some guarantee then of having a decent government the next time round, one that works for the people and not just according to the whims of a foreign power.

@gazi, Imran did not sat with JI on Taliban issue, but they PROTESTED TOGETHER on drone strikes and military operations.

    Understand?

MQM has violence charges, and Imran Khan and PTI have never backed off from the position that MQM should face those charges in a court trial. Their leader should come to Pakistan for this.

I challenge everyone to bring me one statement of Imran Khan where he regretted his previous statements about MQM or taken back any of his statements against Altaf Hussian.

This is according to Naeem-ul-Haq (PTI Sindh President) facebook status:

"For the last few days a number of requests had been recieved by PTI from MQM for arranging a telephone talk between IK and Altaf Husain. IK had imposed certain precond...itions which were met by the MQM leadership. IK and Altaf Husain spoke a couple of hours ago and agreed to pursue a 3 point agenda.....1. Afia's release.2. Raymond Davis affair. 3. Drone attacks."

  17. its just nothing but a planning of agencies.
they as well as US are done with PPP Govt, now just to try a diversion and a new player in the market.
they are orchestrating a new set up.

as long as MQM and Imran patch up is concerned.
nobody has any sense of self respect and sticking to their own words.

same MQM use to curse Imran.
use to fill all the walls of Karachi city with writing every disgracing remark against Imran, one can imagine.
now they are getting lovy dovy on the directives of agencies.

on the other hand,i m disappointed with Imran also.
he use to curse MQM the same way,was planning to proceed against MQM in the courts.
and now he is friendly with the same party.

    no Deen Imaan .
    no chance for any betterment.

    conclusion:
they are all the puppets in the hands of agencies.

  18. @Beenai

You supported Imran just because he was against MQM, not because of his ideology or manifesto???

FYI, in politics one doesn't shut all his doors on his opponents!! You agree on certain issues and disagree on certain issues.

PTI vehemently opposes terror techniques of MQM but at the same time acknowledges Altaf's stand on Afia and drone attacks.

No deen no Eman is just crazy talk and holds no substance!!!

When Rasool SAW signed a deal with Kufar, what was that? (Sulah Hudaibia)

Muslim of Makkah supported Roman armies during the wars between Persian Empire and Roman Empire!!

I don't understand this naive and empty rhetoric and illogical stand by PTI supporters and opponents alike??

    @ Bennai

U see there were pre conditions made and Altaf wanted to speak to IK, he's been wanting to speak to IK for a long time now. These 3 points are very big issues. Hope something positive comes out of this.

I really feel for sister Afia, poor sister in US prisons.
