It's not a surprise, MQM remained very close with Musharraf throughout his tenure and its support was a big plus for him.

Next elections will see more alliances, PPP most probably will also join MQM and Musharraf to further its support, but there is no following of Musharraf outside Karachi, so his support does not mean anything.

In my opinion if Imran Khan has to gain strength, then he should form an alliance with PPP and Q-league, in this way he can give tough time to N-league in Punjab and he will be able to form a strong party with sizable strength in NA.

I would not be surprised if N$ joins in as well, he has given an open invitation to lotas so give me a reaqson why he and GM cannot kiss and makeup..........

MQM and GM together cannot do much anyway, nothing to worry about. MQM will stay with there seats in Karachi, in fact they should be worried that they may lose some, unless the jaali vote brigade comes into use. Punjab sorry, jaali vote brigade N$ has it under control. They cannot do nothing MQM, join with whom they will it will make non difference to poor awam. (bunch of no hopers, good for nothing).

I agree with you that MQM and Musharraf has no support outside Karachi, and even in Karachi this time around MQM will loose much and we might see many seats loss for them.

But there is no possibility of N-league joining them, NS will bring as many Q-leaguers into party and a big defection from Chaudhris is on cards which will strengthen his party.

PPP did played some cards of announcing its support for Saraiki province and bringing Q-league into its folds but that seems to have died down.

Imran's factor is still there but without any other big party's support he cannot win even a sizable seats and seeing him concentrating more on N-league areas, I am sure he has his eyes in North Punjab belt, but still he has to form an alliance with both PPP and Q-league to get these seats, since both these parties have a vote bank in these areas. Combining those votes can get Imran into a favorable position.

Bhutto prospered with the help of dictator Ayub Khan, then Shariff Bros. prospered with the help of dictator Zia ul Haq and lastly MQM prospered with the help of dictator Pervaiz Musharaff. Good about MQM that is not ignoring Musharaff the way Bhutto and Shariff Bros. ignored the families of Ayub and Zia.

As per agencies, two sort of alliances will be made in next election. one is of mush, mqm and ik, as mush has already disclosed it. another is of q league and ppp with functional league and anp. N league will stay alone. may be jamat e islami will ask them to join them in elections.
as a result, n league will not win enough seats to make a govt, and ppp-qleague etc and mqm-mush-ik group will join them in assemblies and will rule us.
NS is not liked by agencies anymore, our mard e mujahid the second, gen hameed gul even has asked to hang him when mush came. similarly, the way NS is condemning agencies and in APC he questioned agencies, will never ever be welcomed in GHQ. so all efforts are being done to finish N League by hook and crook.
so you can imagine easily, who is going to get benefit from all this?

as per agencies? or should I say as per your dream

Ik with like minded parties such as maybe JI.
N$ with there new found NO1 supporter of GM.
PML Q and PPP and MQM.

People are saying that GM time was better than now, and u are talking about condemning agencies. Load shedding, drone attacks, over priced food, jobs, justice are things what people are concerned with, not agencies bro, u are way way out of it

Some people are still living in the past.

THe situation on the ground is totally different. Firstly, the two big parties had, since long, lost the support of the masses. They have won elections through wielding money and power, electoral rigging and exploited the lack of a third option.

In essence, majority of Pakistans have been BOYCOTTING the elections for years. The turnaround has never been above 40% which also includes a big chunk of jali, bogus votes. This means vast majority of Pakistanis are not giving any votes to these corrupt parties.

Some pandits have no idea when they analyze the politics of Pakistan based on the views of paid intellectuals and journalists who are beneficiaries of the big parties.

The new voters who will vote this time around due to increased awareness owing to free media and judiciary and the overall worsening situation of the country, would largely consist of youth and educated people - majority of whom without any doubt are fed up with the old parties and support Imran Khan and PTI. Secondly, there are many people tilting towards PTI that belonged to traditional parties and this creates a perception among the public about the inevitable change, which will really have an effect. I yesterday talked to a friend who was very eagerly mentioning the induction of some political heavy weights in PTI like Mia Azhar, indicating the changing perception of people.

I have little doubt that IK is right when he says that PTI will clean sweep and wipe out the status quo forces. Some people are simply unable to contemplate the Tsunami that is coming (this does not include PMLN supporters, of course, they have no choice but to pretend ignorance).

The rationalists and the realists, the "analysts", could never predict change even when it was looming over their heads. They were telling only 6th months before Obama wining the US presidency how unlikely it is for the Americans to elect a non-White president (BBC documentary), they were talking about the iron grip of Hussini Mubarak on Egypt and Egyptian institions at the onset of the Egyptian protests. In fact, I interestingly encountered a report which mentioned something to the effect that "it would be an achievement if the current Egyptian protests bring out something good out of the government, even if there is little hope of toppling it".!

This is the mindset of the "analysts".

Alliance are established or broken on the directions of internal or external agencies. The funding or supporting agencies play political games in their interests with the help of our politicians. Our politicians are merely puppets of internal or external agencies.

The alliances are already there, PTI+MQM+PML-Q+PPP Vs PML-N, as far as ANP and Pagara League is concerned they will be partners with whomever is in power. So big deal about them.

Now Mushy have jumped in the wagon, this will strengthen MQM in Karachi and PTI on Internet. PTI may not call an official alliance with them but they would be their partners in the coming election against NS.

The reason PTI will not be able to have official alliance is that if they do it, they will loose whatever hopes they have in central and Northern Punjab ans in KPK as well, so yes they will be their partners in minds and would be having same agenda.

On the other hand, Nawaz League have already started moving in Sindh and would be soon moving in Punjab, Balochistan and KPK. All they have to do is to get their ex-members back, that is from Q-league, members who are not happy with the PPP alliance...

The stage is set and things will be more clear in coming days.
