ANP-backed thugs, led by Liaquat Bangash, attack MQM's office as a reaction to anti-encroachment in Karachi (especially Rabia City in gulistan-e-jauhar) and recovery of 18,500 acres of land from land-mafia:

KARACHI: An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was killed and six others were injured when armed men attacked its office in Gulistan-i-Jauhar here on Friday night.

The incident sparked violence in the area and minutes later a bus was set on fire. Uninterrupted firing forced traders to pull down shutters and residents to stay indoors.

Parts of Gulshan-i-Iqbal were affected by the firing and main business centres on Rashid Minhas and Abdul Hasan Ispahani roads were closed.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain condemned the attack and demanded the arrest of the assailants.

“It’s not clear but early reports suggested that four to six armed men were involved in the attack on the MQM office in Gulistan-i-Jauhar’s Block 17,” said an officer at the Sharea Faisal police station.

He said that about half a dozen people were injured who had been taken to different hospitals.

One of them died at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Witnesses said the attackers came in a car.

“Our worker Rizwan Shah was killed while five other members of the party and a supporter were injured and they are being treated at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Liaquat National Hospital and Aga Khan University Hospital,” said Wasay Jalil of the MQM.

He said Azhar Ali, a unit in-charge of the area, was among the injured. He said the MQM chief had appealed to the workers to stay calm.

The incident emerged as a fresh source of tension between the MQM and Awami National Party.

Though the MQM chief asked workers and supporters to stay calm, the deputy parliamentary leader of the party in the National Assembly, Haider Abbas Rizvi, blamed ANP workers for the attack on the unit office.

“There was a lot of people present at the unit office when it was attacked,” he said.

“They recognised armed ANP men attacking the office and we believe it’s a reaction to the MQM’s support for the government’s anti-encroachment campaign that led to recovery of 1,800 acres of land.”

KARACHI: Central Leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Dr. Farooq Sattar Saturday called for prompt and strict action against ‘land mafia, drug mafia and arms mafia’ to ensure peace in the metropolitan city.

At a press conference called in emergency, the MQM leader flanked by members of MQM Rabitta Committee Raza Haroon, Nasreen Jalil and Wasay Jalil alleged that Awami National Party (ANP) continued to function as a political party until it was led by Bacha Khan but ‘now the sole objective of the party is to patronize land mafia, drug mafia and an armed group’.

“It was ANP’s armed terrorists who attacked MQM’s office, killing one of our worker while (some) other party members who were seriously injured are still under treatment at a hospital,” he alleged.

Dr. Farooq Sattar said 'land grabbers' are challenging the writ of the government and called for steps to put a strict check on the same.

    1) What are the names of MQM workers who killed those 11 people? These thugs who attacked the MQM's office were identified by the neighbourhood and even their names were presented. Can you present the name of MQM workers who did the killing?

    2) Were the 11 people killed the political workers or ordinary citizens? Not every killing in karachi is 'target killing', there are personal feuds too amoingst citizens, just like any other city. What prompts you to qualify those killings as indeed being politically motivated killing by MQM? Were they killed at an office of ANP in Karachi?

ANP people were always praised by the Black Don in the past.

    Now what happened.

Perhaps MQM does not want any partner in its looting.

More evidence of ANP's desire to stop the anti-encroachment campaign and continue with its target killing in Karachi:

Live footage of retaliation of the land-encroacher against the police:

Hats of to the Pakistani media for finally starting to take a tough stance against the ANP-backed thugs!!!
