If one compares Japan with United states; it is some 1/20th of its size vis-a vis United States but Japan after United States is the second largest economy in the world; so I don’t think that a nation be evaluated with the vastness of the land that a nation posses or numbers of its citizen occupying its space.
And neither war is won by the tanks and gun or gunships; it is men behind the guns. If case was other wise; Admiral Mike Mullen would have not been crying in his pentagon offices that how a rag-tag group of Haqqanis of just few thousands is keeping the Mega forces of super power pushed behind their fortified bunkers where as Haqqanis and Taliban rule the entire Afghanistan.
Mike Mullen forces confined to their bunkers are anxiously awaiting one happy news that; —-when their turn is announced that they are picked from their bunkers to fly back home.
Pakistanis are most versatile and resilient nation; one must not under estimate one self.
Turmoil and setbacks do come for the nations; but should we lose the Hope?
US escalation has brought a Golden opportunity for Pakistanis to come out of this turmoil of war on terror; as a united nation

Ok I may be pessimistic in saying this but I am not expecting any good thing coming out of this APC. Do we have a leader of some standing, character, knowledge, vision, resolve-to-solve-people's-problem, strong willed....?
No not a single of them is like this. Some of them may be better than others but sorry no one has impressed with these NECESSARY traits as all lack em...
In my opinion APC should give a message:
1 - We are ONE when it comes to national interests and defense of Pakistan.
2 - We are partners in fight against (whatever) but not the slaves of America.
3 - We can SURVIVE without US aid.
Let's see what our leaders come out with.

The White House has attempted to distance itself from comments made by its top military chief to a senate hearing last week. Admiral Mike Mullen called Pakistan’s intelligence agency the ISI a veritable arm of the Haqqani insurgent network. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister says the criticism is unfair as Pakistan and the US are fighting the same enemy and both countries have lost many lives in the fight.
