Is this effort for real or just another time buying tactic and an attempt to divert attention from serious issues raised after Seymour Hersh's report?

I agree with your observation. A popular and effective move to divert public attention.

I dont think it is attention diversion. Balochistan package was in works for a long time and PM was scheduled to present it to NS and opposition long time ago but due to NS's absence from country lately it has been postponing.

There is more to running a government than answering -1 formula or anonymous reports.

Government has undertaken some far reaching initiatives including Thar Coal, Gilgit Baltistan, election reforms in FATA and Balochistan package.

Please dont get stuck in Hamid Meer show.

This is my analysis of PPP's move, not hamid mir show.

Hamid Mir says that Aitzaz Ahsan was offered PM post and this whole thing will become irrelevant because the PM may get changed.

Yes, governments and opposition sometimes try to divert people's attention from real issues. That is true.

Balochistan package however, is too big of an issue to be compared with Seymour Hersh's report.

Pakistani masala media and masala talk shows have distorted the idea of governance and government in our minds. Even regular and commendable government actions such as Balochistan package appear attention diversion tactics. I dont blame us, I blame media for that.

    obaid sb,

Key player in balochistan is Army, not nawaz sharif. We have to see response of army on this scenario, if they are willing to surrender to political leadership then it will be huge change in the history of Pakistan!

  10. since decades, same Sardars & political leaders are present in all governments whether military dictator, PML or PPP.

All the provincial assembly members are ministers and this is world record.

The illegal commission on development works is highest in Balochistan as compare to other provinces.

Even molvess of JUI are now eddicted to ministeries 7 commissions.

Balochistan's actual problem is these corrupt tribal heads/sardars/mulla etc.

Literacy ratio is very low, poverty is common, unemployment is on highest level.

My suggestion is that Government of pakistan immediately introduce 10,000 government jobs from grade 1 to grade 17 and unrest problem in Balochistan will cease to exists immediately.

The cost of 10,000 government jobs will be less than present cost being occured to control law & order.
    controlling departments.

    @JJ Khan sahab,

Unconfirmed reports say army has accepted the package. I wont criticise government on Baloch package. It is a good step and we should all support government on that.

I wont speculate but Baloch package probably includes general pardon for all, including Bramdagh.

It also includes generous financial package.

I'd say the package should also include a formula for revenue distribution between federal, provincial, and private owner of the land.
