    Jamaat-e-Islami basically provided the idealogy to stick with the union of Pakistan while West Pakistan was to continue sabotaging the East and army sponsored rapes. Too bad Jamaat did not have the sense, knowledge or courage to speak against the willful crippling or mutilation of East Pakistan. Jamaat needs a lesson on huqooq-ul-ibad and rights of Muslims in an Islami riyasat.

    BO,

    Jamat only encountered mukti bahni and did not engage in human rights violation.

    Yes, they were against separation and after creation of Bangladesh, Jamat registered itself as a Bangla party and confirmed its loyalty to bangladesh. There is no point in blaming Jamat anymore...

    Obaid bhai: ask any bengali lived through the sepration what was the role of Alshams and Albadar if they were not involved in human rights violation? May be not directly in most cases, but were the moles/rats of pak army and were instrumental in the biger schema.

    @HF: " The result was one most shameful events of the Islamic history."

    Stop beating this Islamic history band. Bengalis were not hindus neither did Pakistan army was invading them as Muslim army. If you pull this Muslim card for 1971, then it's a slipery slope of muslim or west Pakistan against the muslim of east Pakistan.

    sir, albadr and shams were definitely involved in armed and violent activities..no one is denying that...but their activities were directed towards mukti bahni.

    Jamat have been operating in BDesh for decades now but only buddsurat wajid seem to have a problem with them. Jamat has pledged allegiance to Bangla.

    The problem is, B Wajid has problem with anything Pakistani..

    Jamat was equal partner in crime .. as much as the army. Being at the moral high ground they did not speak out against the atrocities. The war dead run any where from several hundred thousand to millions and Jamaat is mute about it to this day. The whole wreck in 1971 independence war speaks volume about Jamaat's practice of Islam. If ever in leading scale, the Jamaat would once again utterly fail the state of Pakistan as their past record shows. Jamaat should work the moral correctness in society and leave politics out until the society rises to higher conviction.

    Yes, Jamat should have spoken out against yahya and other jurnails adventures in Bangla which they did not at the time.

    The question here is the role of Bangla Jamat not Pakistani Jamat. B Wajid is going crazy and she wants to hang 80 years old Ghulam Azaz sahab the ex jamat ameer of bangla. Even international observers have called those trails as mockery of justice. As I said, B Wajid pay oss kee choti behen churail kaa saaya hogaya hai

    Very good decision by Bangladesh Govt to ban divisive literature of Maodoudi; we should do the same to save our country.

    Baning Mododi books is a blessing in disguise for Bangladeshi society.

    @SugarMint

    What about our society? Why should we be deprived of blessing in disguise? Ban the books here too.

    For us it's too late. We already pass the phase, now we have jahadi nation who take pleasure in killing their own brothers on the name of religion. And literature of Modudi and likes played a key role in developing this mindset.

    With Bdesh, that's not the case. They are not radacalize yet so baning any literature which redacalize the society is a step in right direction.

    Jamat's roles in both East Pakistan and Afghan war produced negative results for the nation.
