I think the article may be bit misleading. It depends how much money is paid for the rooms. Rooms for under 300USD are also available and if booked by embassy, there may be some corporate discount. If he is staying in a room for under 300USD seems ok for a hotel in Newyork. If he is using suits or luxury room then shame on him. still the best option was to stay at Pakistan consulate.

Their understanding of politics is nothing but business. They invest heavy amount at the time of elections and then enjoy their life being parliamentarians. Indeed this is capitalist/democratic way of looking at politics and practicing it.
