  1. Pakistan and China expected to launch a strategic dialogue. Gwadar’s management might be transferred to a Chinese company to revive the strategic project.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Pakistan’s government has summoned a joint session of Parliament and Senate on the morning of December 18 in Islamabad where Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will address the parliament. China is expected to use the occasion to formalize its desire to upgrade the traditional strategic ties with its longtime ally Pakistan.

The story was first reported by The Daily Mail. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has ordered special preparations for the event. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, all provincial governors and chief ministers, chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, chiefs of the armed forces and diplomats will be special guests, according to the paper.

On the eve of US president Obama’s visit to India last month, Mr. Wen met President Asif Ali Zardari in Beijing and hinted he wanted to see a major leap in Sino-Pak ties.

The Chinese premier called to “deepen strategic cooperation” and proposed “the establishment of a mechanism for formal and structured dialogue to ensure smooth and real time communication on all issues of common interest,” according to a report published on Nov. 12.

Simultaneously, China’ ambassador to Islamabad Mr. Liu Jian released a paper calling for a new security paradigm in Asia and pledged his country’s “unselfish and unconditional help and support” to longtime ally Pakistan.

  2. Best news of the day, I'd say. The closer we stand to China, the greater are chances of recovering our lost honour and autonomy.

  3. China cannot be sidelined by the current Pakistani regime as they were doing during their first year in power.

Gawadar Port should be controlled by the Chinese who financed and helped us out on this project, so that a highway from Gawadar to China could also be completed.

Not favoured by the Americans this handover will lead to increased clandestine anti-Pakistani activities by the CIA in Baluchistan.

  4. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

Why is this surprising for Muslims, for Pakistan, for the rest of Muslim UMMAH ?

Why should it be any surprise ? The Chinese, the black Africans have been good allies of Muslims for centuries before today. It is only us, who have 'chosen' to 'forget', to not read/understand history.

ALL those who say anything against this fact that Chinese are friends of Muslims, are either less-knowledgeable, less-aware, or they have 'serious' mal-intentions for Muslims, as well as for ALL! people of this entire globe.

P.S. ..and I will prove my point.

  5. HK, Great comment. Glad you brought Black Africa into it as well, Muslims of the first hour and now practically majority Muslim in the length and breadth of it. Looking forward to reading more from you as you prove your point.

Mirza Sahib, We need China more than ever in Gawadar to offset the growing CIA presence in Baluchistan.

Pakistan should make friends with China, Iran, Afghanistan and Russia. Let America be friends to India. Four of us combined united in defense would be a formidable force.

  7. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

    (1) I don't see how Russia is ever going to help Muslims. Russia focuses more on joining the non-Muslim 'group' against Muslims.

I noted one Muslim scholar noting Russia as one of the 'Yajooj Majooj' (in urdu, arabic) that Islam's scriptures talk about. The characters of 'Yajooj Majooj' (in urdu, arabic) described in Islam's scriptures fit on them to a great deal. I tend to agree with this scholar on this.

    (2) Pakistan + Afghanistan + Iran + China strategic block is a great! idea

We Muslims + China + Black Africans, we can make a strategic block in Asia to repel 'foreign oppression' 'forced' on us by west, or people of the west.

We require strong relations with China, not only in strategic realm, but also in financial, political, and other realms of life. We have to note China as our partner and work with them for our long term goals.

We, the Muslims of Pakistan, Muslims living in other Muslim nation states, coupled with our allies, our partners, we have all been dreaming of this. We have been wanting this to become reality. We have been promoting this idea, for multiple decades.

It is unfortunate, our own people, for decades, have 'denied' us the 'power' we need to turn this dream, into reality.
