As China’s leadership honors Pakistan by inviting the Pakistani president to open Asian Games 2010, China’s ambassador to Pakistan says China’s role in Asia cannot be denied, that China invests in Asia more than any other continent, and that disputes must be appropriately managed and resolved according to international norms.

“China believes a new security concept should be established with mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality and coordination at its core; one that recognizes, respects and rises above national differences in terms of ideology, values, social system and development stage.”

It should have been Pakistan who was saying this, wanting this.

China is asking Pakistan to move towards 'building' a 'regional block' in Asia for 'establishing', 'maintaining', our long term 'strategic' as well as 'security' 'concerns' in this entire region.

Pakistan and China both need each other in this region to ensure their mutual survival, betterment.

    (1) What is Pakistan's response ?

    (2) What is the decision of people of Pakistan in this regard ?

    (3) Do people of Pakistan want to accept 'continuation' of 'indirect' 'slavery' at the hands of the west or do they want to struggle towards freedom, self reliance, regional partnership for dealing with international challenges ?

People of Pakistan, what do you say, what do you want ?

  2. HK, excellent posting. I, for one, am all in favour of our joining up with China in a new security concept. I am not speaking for the People of Pakistan, but only for myself. I agree with you. The initiative should have come from Pakistan rather than the other way round. But we as a country are weakened beyond belief. We were just not in a position to make the first move.

So accept what is being given, say I. Move away from the West and back to our Asian roots. That way lies salvation for us as a country and as the future leading force of the resurgent Ummah.

  3. Let's hope China is aware of the president's commitment to agreements ("They are not Quran or Hadith!") :-P

  4. nota, what say you? shall we pen a little note to Hu Jintao on the subject. Perhaps we'll have to throw in a line or two to explain the enormity of the matter. But I suppose he'd get our gist all right.

  5. Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,

Will people of Pakistan continue to not look beyond their own noses ?

    or

Will people of Pakistan learn to take! charge! of their 'collective' lives, 'collective' 'presence', 'collective' 'voice', 'collective' 'interests', 'collective' 'well-being' ?

The people who are 'slaves', they remain in their cribs, not ready to struggle. On the other hand, the people who have 'freedom', they take! charge!. I'm waiting to hear, to read the answer of people of Pakistan. People of Pakistan, are you slaves of those who have freedom, those who know what freedom is, how it is 'guarded', how 'freedom' is 'exported' ?
