CIA took revenge for Reymond Custody by attacking a Qabaili Jirga. Many Khasa Dar (Khasa Dars are similar to police force in FATA area and they are kind of Govt. employees and paid by Govt) and Qabalii Maliks are reportedly dead.

Main reason behind this attack seems to give warning to ISI and Pakistan ARMY: DONT Mess With CIA" OTHERWISE create more problem for Pakistan and Pakistani people

    Current Death Figure is 40.

Suspected U.S. Drone Strike in Pakistan, 38 Killed
    By REUTERS
    Published: March 17, 2011

MIRANSHAH, Pakistan (Reuters) - A U.S. drone missile strike on Thursday killed at least 38 suspected militants in a Pakistani tribal region known as a haven for Taliban and al Qaeda fighters, Pakistani intelligence officials said.

There were conflicting accounts about the target of the attack and those killed in the Datta Khel region of North Waziristan. The death toll was one of the highest in a drone missile strike.

The area is a stronghold of Hafiz Gul Bahadur, a Taliban commander who harbours and sends militants across the border to fight Western forces in Afghanistan.

One official said the missiles targeted a house as elders loyal to Bahadur were trying to mediate between two warring militant groups inside.

Another official said the drone attacked a vehicle in the area that was passing by a house where local tribesmen were holding a meeting, killing them. A tribesman in the area supported his account.

"It wasn't a militant gathering, but a meeting of tribal elders from Ismail Khan village to sort out some differences over a business deal," tribesman Zia-ur-Rehman told Reuters.

"One of Bahadur's commanders, Sharabat Khan, was also present at the meeting as he is also a local elder, but they were discussing business."

There were conflicting reports about whether Khan had been killed in the attack. It was not immediately known if those in the vehicle were also hit.

The United States has been attacking al Qaeda-linked militants for the past few years in Pakistan's lawless tribal areas using drones, which are a source of worry for the government because civilians casualties inflame public anger and bolster support for the militants.

North Waziristan, where most of the drone attacks have occurred, is the only one of seven Pakistani tribal regions where Pakistan's army has not yet launched any major operation against the militants.

Washington has in recent months mounted pressure on Pakistan, its nuclear-armed ally, to go after militants in North Waziristan. Pakistan has said it will do so but on its own schedule and when adequate resources are available.

KP governor accuses US over civilian deaths

ISLAMABAD: A provincial governor in Pakistan’s northwest on Thursday accused the United States of killing civilians and police officers in a drone strike in the troubled tribal region, a statement said.

I strongly condemn this drone attack. “A tribal jirga (council) was targeted in which several tribal elders and tribal policemen were martyred,”said Syed Masood Kausar, the federal representative of northwestern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

“We want to make it clear that the government of Pakistan and its people will not tolerate such attacks. These attacks are against the sovereignty of Pakistan,” the statement added.

US drone fired four missiles into a suspected hideout of militants on Thursday, killing 80 of them.

The strikes took place in the Datta Khel area of the North Waziristan tribal region, the main sanctuary for Al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters along the Afghan border.

The roughly more than 100 suspected militants at the meeting were allied with Hafiz Gul Bahadur, a powerful Pakistani Taliban commander in the area who has focused his efforts on fighting foreign troops in Afghanistan. The insurgents were discussing plans to send new groups of fighters across the border.

The most senior militant killed in the attack was Sharabat Khan, Bahadur s top commander for the Datta Khel area, who was leading the meeting. Several foreign militants were also killed in the attack.

The United States began firing missiles at militant targets in Pakistan in 2004, but the pace of the attacks picked up dramatically in 2008. Last year, there were around 120 strikes, which are believed to be carried out by unmanned drone aircraft launched either from Afghanistan or from inside Pakistan.

There have been around 20 so far this year. Most of the strikes this year and last have been in North Waziristan.

As expressed by some friends on this thread, the fresh drone attacks can be warning signals to ISI. The Americans probably want to give a clear message that their subversive activities should not be thwarted. The Americans want ISI to realize that Pakistan is just their colony against their unfruitful aid.

This is frustrating and sad. Now imagine what the families for the drone attack victims are going to do.....

ISI/GHQ and our politicans are the sole people to blame for this entire mess. Untill we change our rulers we will always be slave to the US.

People of Pakistan are worth zero to our ruling elite and unless they know what we are worth, they will continue to consider this as collateral damage and a means to earn more Financial and Military Aid.

No strong leaders in the history of Pakistan were allowed by the American CIA to rule over long periods of time. These weak rulers like Zardari and Reza Gilani become their mere puppets for saving their seats.

HF, the issue is also our own begherti because we are all sellouts. Our political parties have no loyalty to pakistan but only to their own desire to be in power and hence sells out to the US. IF none of the parties or majority would be loyal to pakistan they would not lissen to the US just to topple the other party in power.

Even BBC's reporting is some what better than our local sell out media outlets:

@HF,, i think RD deal is only a small thing as compared to other deals that we hav done. the only reason why RD got attension was because of media and hype created around it. The drone attacks are killing ppl left right and center every other day and it goes un noticed because the MEdia dos not cover it, there are no live pictures, there is no masala news in it, the media cant sell it.

The IMF has been on our backs like anything, destroying our economy, our development projects and poor mans back but no one is really interested in it because it doesnt get the same coverage.

The city life is aloof from all of this.

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, on Thursday strongly condemned a US drone attack in North Waziristan that killed more than three dozen people, saying the missiles struck a peaceful meeting of tribal elders.

Gen Kayani called Thursday’s strike ”unjustified and intolerable” and said it was a violation of human rights.

In a statement issued by the ISPR, he said such acts of violence will take us away from our objective of elimination of terrorism.

Security of people of Pakistan, in any case, stands above all, he added.

Pakistan Army has already launched a protest in the strongest possible terms, said the statement.

Time for all of us to get even with friggin' CIA ourselves. This spineless castrated General on extension can't even defend military sponsored tribal jirga against Militants so how could he be expected to defend the whole friggin' country.. He and that ISI's scum bag on extention are truly incompetent dimwits.

    --

The case of Ibad ur Rehman the guy who was runover by American agents Landcruiser is still very much unsettled..

A 7 seater LandCruiser was involved in that incident. So that means potentially 7 American agents(CIA Spies) could be onboard that vehicle when it fled the scene using wrong side of the road after running over this innocent man.

There is potential for money to be made by some daredevil Pakistanis.. Lots and lots of it. Rs200 X 7 = Rs 1400 Million.

How could you get your hands on these Rs 1.4 billion..

Well its easy, capture or entrap 7 Raymond type CIA agents that are roaming all over Pakistan and can be easily found and spotted. The News have even posted list of some of these friggin' CIA agents ..

@shirazi, the msg you posted clearly shows that Kiyani is only doing damage control infront of media because he knows that awam is angry. condemning of drones happens left right and center by our politcians but everyone knows that GHQ works with CIA for these drones and the CIA has tacit approval from pakistani goverment. See no evil, hear no evil policy.

Pakistani govt and military has probably condemed the drone attacks a few thousands time but by saying something will not bring back the lives lost nor will it comfort the families of the victims, it will also not stop the CIA. SO this is all BS by kiyani about strongly condemning etc etc... someone would be uterly stupid and naive to take the words for face value.

If the army was really sincere it would actually send a strong msg to the US by shooting down a couple drones but why would they do that.

Even MQM's clown Altaf Bi in his typical demonic style while addressing a rally celebrating his 27th barsi said that if Americans can pay Rs 200 million to the families of those 2 men killed in Lahore then they should also pay compensation (Rs100million x 41) to heirs of tribal elders killed by american drones..

He further said that 'qaum ki baytee' Dr Aafia didn't killed any one still he(Altaf ) is ready to give bloodmoney to US after extorting(bhatha) it from 180million Pakistanis. What ever amount would be collected,Babar Ghauri would match that amount from his pocket money and all of that would be paid to Americans to buy Aafia's freedom.
