Citizens of Karachi Hate Policemen

The recent heavy spills of rain have further boosted the public hatred against the police. There were no policemen on roads to control traffic problems during the rainfall. Hundreds of volunteers from public were seen controlling the traffic unofficially. Meanwhile, the policemen were seen enjoying cups of tea and pakoras in their police posts.

In the common days, the same policemen are found active in lifting cars and motorcycles for their heavy earnings in the sums of crores daily. Moreover, they are found making check spots to retrieve money from the car drivers and motorcyclists with some pretext or other. At such times of public difficulties, they are found enjoying tea and pakoras.

When this public hatred against the police turns into any action then these actions are termed and reported by media as the actions of terrorism.

Well how many policemen are really living in Karachi with their familes for past 10-20 years?? How many SSP, SP, IGs DiGs to ASIs are really karachiwalas ?

Forget about what language they speaks what is important to have community policing in all cities in Pakistan, Thandar of Nazimabad has to be from Nazimabad, Thanedar from Lyari has to be from Lyari, if this was the case criminal wouldnt be walking freely around in Karachi

Around 107 most-wanted criminals involved in some 341 cases - including murder, attempted murder, robbery, and possessing illegal weapons - are currently part of the Sindh Police as they were appointed as constables due to their affiliation with the MQM.

These facts have been pointed out in the list prepared by senior police officials, and this list has been forwarded to the Sindh Home Department for taking action against the illegal appointments of the MQM-backed constables, whereas the orders for cancellation of these appointments would soon be issued by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

These activists and supporters had gathered at the Police Headquarters with documents identifying their affiliation with the MQM and attested medical certificates, and these candidates did not even have valid degrees and were physically unfit for the post of constables.

Majority of these politically-motivated appointments as constables in the Sindh Police were made without obtaining formal clearance from the police and the intelligence agencies as well as without fulfilling any other legal formalities.

In this regard, senior police officials have prepared two lists containing data on the criminals appointed in the Police Department on political grounds.

In this regard, senior police officials have prepared two lists containing data on the criminals appointed in the Police Department on political grounds.

The first list contains the names of around 107 constables who are most-wanted by the police in as many as 341 criminal cases - including murder, attempted murder, robbery, and possessing illegal weapons.

The list was prepared on behalf of the police’s Criminal Records Office (CRO), and the second list - which is attached with this report - contains names of 1,400 appointed constables.

The first list, which discloses political affiliation of the constables inducted in the Police Department this year, includes the names of over 1,000 constables affiliated with the MQM, whereas the remaining are affiliated with the PPP and the Awami National Party.

According to the list, Constable Abdul Ghaffar - who is under training at the Baldia Police Training School - is wanted by the police in 34 criminal cases, including a murder case registered at the Nabi Bux Police Station in 1991 and a case (No 393/2010) of possessing an illegal weapon registered at the Jamshed Quarters Police Station.

The trainee constable has been an absconder for 20 years, but he succeeded in getting appointed in the Police Department due to his political affiliation.

Another trainee constable, Abdul Jabbar, is also wanted by the police for his involvement in 24 criminal cases.

The second list contains the names of 1,400 trainee policemen who have not fulfilled legal formalities for being appointed as police constables.

Receiving clearance from the Special Police and the Intelligence Bureau is an essential requirement for this post, but majority of these trainee constables have not been verified properly in their physical examination conducted at their respective town police offices.

In the report, senior police officials have suggested that the names and records of trainee constables be verified from the CRO to ensure that only honest and devoted people are allowed to serve the citizens in future.

Last year, the Sindh Police had initiated the process of appointing over 5,000 constables amid serious warnings that highly politicised persons enjoying the backing of the ruling PPP were being inducted into the Police Department.

The Sindh High Court had issued a stay order on February 2 against these appointments on a constitutional petition, but according to a report of the Sindh government, no appointments were made on political basis, which is why the court disposed of the petition.

The process restarted after an understanding between the MQM and the PPP that the former would have a job quota of 2,000 and the latter of 3,000.

The appointments were made with a clear understanding that only the blue-eyed candidates would be inducted in the Police Department, which is already ineffective and corrupt because of similar illegal appointments in the past.

It just speaks the volume, the two personalities are related to PPP are whoring for PPP. Could they also publish the name or is it just part of ZM's 'half-truth campaign' as we all know of.

They capture these animals from the goths of Sind and Pinds of Punjab and bring them here to control Karachi.

MQM previously taught them a lesson, it seems like they need to do that again soon.

Sindh Police employs 99,097 personnel. Karach CCPO is divided in three zones with Traffic is being overlapped:
West Zone - 30 Police Stations in the areas of SITE Town, New Karachi Town, North Nazimabad Town, Gulberg Town, Liaquatabad Town, Orangi Town and Baldia Town.
East Zone - 34 Police Stations in the areas of Gulshan Town, Shah Faisal Town, Landhi Town, Korangi Town, Bin Qasim Town, Malir Town and Gadap Town.
South Zone - 32 Police Stations in the areas of Kemari Town, Clifton, Saddar Town, Jamshed Town and Lyari Town.
Traffic Zone - divided into five traffic zones in the city of Karachi.

Number of Police Stations in Karachi: 96 from the counting the above but GOvernment of Sindh has a slightly different count: 98
The number of personnel allocated for Karachi: 29326 without taking into account for other divisions within the force such as Special Branch, CID and investigation Sindh. Only a handful of 107 claimed to belong with MQM are targeted. The 107 policeman are 0.004% of the total in Karachi police force. The rest 99.996% belongs to the community of angels. Very funny:)

You are right .Age effects every one.
But I am often surprised of you. You are a wise ,intelligent and perhaps much educated. But you often go at extreme. It is not good. We support people whom we like but never be a blind follower of any one. You are responsible for every your act and word and one day you will be accounted. Think of the day of accountability of everyone.Goray ko kalay par aur arbi ko ajmi par koi foqiat naheen magar Taqwa. Keep this in your mind. God will not like any racism.

Couple of things i would like to mention
    - The title should be corrected to "Residents" of Karachi. There is no such thing as "Citizens of Karachi". We are citizens of Pakistan.
    - They are tired of all the political parties with armed wing which means MQM comes at number one. You probably have forgotten it so thought perhaps I should "remind" you of it.

I know it is sad, it was also son of someone and well-deserving citizen of the country but the criminals in uniform are animals scavenging any and everyone to satisfy their lust. Aren't they suppose to 'serve and protect'? Are they trained at Police Academy for these criminal acts? Is everyone of Police force is like this? It seems like it, they love to drink, dance and sexually molest. Are citizens paying these state criminals for this service? Sack the police force.

The policemen show efficiency only in one matter, that is vehicle lifting from No Parking areas. Every lifting earns them Rs.300/- for a motorcycle and Rs.500/- for a motorcar.

This is not strange that Karachi wala hate policemen this same in Other parts of Pakistan.

Policemen and office clerk are same species, don't let them know about your status becoz both suck blood of poor, however Islambad police is better than other provincial police deptt.

Rawalpindi and Islamabad are adjacent cities in Pakistan, Islamabad police is much better than pindi police, same Rawalpindian respect Islamabad Policemen at same time he has bad remarks for Rawapindian police.

All Pakistanis hate policemen because police has political parties workers working for the political parties instead of general public and controlling law and order situation.

Pak police is fully politicised CM, MPA, MNA just transfer or dismiss police SHO to highest ranking officers if they don't do what is good for their parties.

If we start recruiting policemen on merit today then within next 5-7 years we can have one the best police in the world because when you give jobs on merit then those people work for the country as compared to political recruitments.

In the history of Sindh Police an honest IG was appointed in Zia's regime. His name was Basheer Siddiqui. He started taking strict actions against the criminals of interior Sindh and Karachi. Very shortly, complaints about his actions began to be voiced by corrupt feudal lords and Martial Law generals like Jahanzeb Arbab and Fazle Haq. Zia then transferred him to Islamabad in the department of Registration.

Our police is totally politicized and only politically backed up policemen inducted into the police department.

There was another DIG of that time, very honest and principaled being. I had the honour of knowing him, he was my father's best friend: DIG Karachi, Martin D'Souza. He was DIG traffic in Zia's time, my father have this vivid memory of him clearing up Empress Market area from illegal bus stops. Where the rest of high police officials were sipping tea and counting their illegal income coming in, he used to spend his time on roads catching traffic violators. He could have made millions easily but he took the noose for his honesty. He couldn't survive as majority of the buses were owned by drug lords and policewala themselves. He soon transferred to Interior Sindh, I think somewhere close to Tharparker. Obviously he couldn't survive their either in the domain of feudal lords, He took the early retirement.
