I visited Karachi last month and my unbiased and honest opinion on the development of Karachi infrastructure for Mustufa Kamal and city government is Positive .The quality of the road ,bridges, pavements I never seen in Karachi before .also the water problem is solved in many areas ,Karachi is much clean now and we see city government serving people .

The main problem in Karachi we have is the law and order issues every one scared going to banks ,ATM and carrying mobile phones .

Yes MQM take "bhatta " ,I agree but any one can visit those areas where MQM has no presence in Karachi you can see ANP ,PSA or Police bhatta khorr ,In MQM areas some people are happy to give MQM Channda/bhatta/Tax to protect them from police "haramipan " or from other "ghundagerdi " .

25 pecent of the prime location belongs to cantonment areas but we do not see army is serving for common man .

The Myth "Civilian institutions are corrupt cannot perform well in Pakistan " become invalid here .

I do not like Altaf Hussain but I appreciate Mustufa Kamal and his team for excellent work in Karachi.

Anything good must be praised no matter who is doing this and i never had doubts about the development conducted by Mustafa Kamal.

i second this...but kindly dont think tht i m a supporter...yes i m supporter of whoever brings a ray of light to my country....whoever...and in any form...if i see a positive sign...i ll appreciate it...yes i have to give bhatta..yes i have to avoid gun culture..yes i m livign in ghunda gardee....so whd...kuch paanay k liye kuch khona bhee to parta hay na...atleast they haev started a trend...they are corrupt..they are NRO zada..they are killers...i dont care...if i see a nice smooth 3 lane road..rebuilt to perfection...meray liye yahee kaafi hay..!!

*chahe aglee baarish main woh beh he kyun na jaye..!! :P

I hope CJ means to say to take the spirit from him and not the actual work done on the ground.

From the reports emerging the quality of construction is below par and even the new sewage/drainage system can't handle the rains. That's sad! What kind of planning are the doing?

lol!!!..han or gulshan chorangi ki beauty bhi khatam hogai hay wu ugly greyish sa over-head bridge ban-nay se ;)

waisay i think they should paint all those over-head bridges as well...their architecture is good but their outlook is ugly!

janay do netenger bhai mujh badnaseeb ko unhi dino karachi jana para tha, airport se le kar drigroad station tak adhi gariyan pani mai theen, aur laug apnay muhaloon se guzarnay nahi de rahay thay, it took me almost 2 and a half hours to reach my home which is in gulshan btw!

Bhai Europe say compare na karain ,pehlay media itna nahi tha tou pata nahi chalta tha ,i know pehlay jab barish hoti thi tou Landhi ,Korangi kay log ger per hi baithay rehtay the dou teen din ,trfiic na honay kay baraber hota tha poray city main ,aur bachay bilbotiyan paker rahay hotay thay :)

Well, I do give them the credit for continuing the trend set by Naimatullah Khan but it'd be great if they'll ensure the quality. Infrastructure work can't be done every few years. It has to be lasting!

Karachi ka sab say ziyada kabara nawaz shareef kay dorr main hua tha aur saray urdu speaking were called terrorist that time .PPP kay dorr main tou phir bhi kaam hua per nawaz shareef nay tou aik paisa bhi nahi lagaya .

@netengr..i think NS put more emphasis on lahore..i heard tht in his tenure he devloped lahore..but some say only a part of it where he had to go..the rest is still the same..havent visited lahore fr quite a while..so cant comment..

@msohail...meri reports to kehtee hain k ab ki dafa LUSH kaam hua hay..nuthins substandard...sub kuch grass root say dubara shuro kia hay..n thts y sum of the projects are taking long...fr example..drive in say jauhar chorangi wali road...it took a lot of time..but it looks perfect now..kabhee aa kar chek karo....jinnay aye naya wala karachi naee waikhya na..oo vee jamiya he naee hayga.

@ucsher...yaar tum batatay naee ho k kahan par.gulshan or disco say agay barho yaar...tum exit control list main to naee ho...block 3 main kahan...asal main i m exaclty frm the same area..and i had loads of frinds in and around block 3 and 4 and they all use to sit and hang out there..cz i use to live in block 4....so i thought i might know you..!!

It was good.

The most striking thing for me was the number of flags I saw in Karachi. Every inch of the way they had a party flag (MQM,PPP,ANP). During my stay of 15 days, I didn't spot a single national flag but every time we drove around we witnessed a sea of red (sohrab Goth), tiranga in Gulberg and PPP's flags on shahr e Faisal. I didn't see this trend in Punjab. weird.

@msohail....yaar..woh asal main banners hain..flats or plots ki advertisement k....dhuaaan or barish or mitti k mixture k baad hawa bhee kaafi chaltee hay karachi main..to woh kat phat kar mix ho kar tumahain jhanday lag rahay hain....:P

national flag sirf 14 august par meray bhaii.:)

on a serious note...khamboon par charh charh kar jhanday lagana har kisi k bas ki baat naeee:)

Yea, but it represented division of the city based on political affiliation. e.g you'll ONLY see ANP flags in Sohrab Goth area. Does that mean everyone who lives there supports them? I don't think so! Similarly, every time you cut a corner, you run into giant paintings of Ugly peer sahib on the walls of big apt complexes.

I personally didn't like it. Its all good during election campaign but not all year long.

@msohail..yaar..asal main...there is no other city like karachi whn it comes to diversification...from siraykee to bangali...i dont think there is one single qaum which you cant spot there...so whn they live there they have to show thr presence as well.....!! but ofcourse this flag bearing stuff is a lot out thr...!! and yes sohrab goth is ilaaqa ghair...!!

@ucsher...acha hay na...mashoor ho rahee hay disco bakery...waisay ab to un sahab k baytay handle kartay hain sub kuch..counter par bhee wohee hotay hain.....waisay bhee karachi main chaye k dhaabay he sub say ziyada informative jaga hotee hain...like quetta unnabi hotel..on rashid minhas..!!
anyways..the whole area is familiar agar Maisam plaza k aas paas thay to phir to KDA market main kafi ana jana rehta hoga..specially ramzan main :)...!! i thought your nik is pronuounces as asher and i use to know 3 or 4 of them thts y i was askin...anyways..thts ok..!!

What ever you see in Karachi is not the achievement of Mustafa Kamal. This is all done ,well thoughtout and planned by ex Nazim Naimatullah Khan (who was among the best few nazims of the world). The things are being completed in the time of Mustafa Kamal only.Mustafa is only making funds availabe to his DON BOSS Altaf in Londone from Karachi.

@saza....i or anyone else never said tht naimatullah khan didnt do anything and gave all credit to mustafa kamal and even if you see above you see naimatullah khans name quite often...but nobody said tht only one guy did tht and the other one didnt ...........but here you go.........this cud well be an initiating point fr another war.....thanks to you..!!

i doubt tht ranking fr mustafa kamal as thr were a lot of issues abt tht as well but still do you mind telling me any source where i can see that naimatullah khan was rated amongst the best?

we will continue to appreciate the good things with our own eyes no matter who does them...

for me MQM is the most forward looking party of Pakistan with clear vision to improve.

I lived(late 70s thru early 80s) across Maisam plaza, those one unit houses.Corner one was mine.There used to be a clinic next next to the bank in the plaza.The Doctor was a good friend of my father.
I remember Agha juice in that area and my hang out place used to be Vimpy.on main Rashid Minhas Rd.We sold this house because of Thana which had shifted from Disco Bakery.

I have also heard this from other sources that all this was planned by ex nazim.

But credit goes to Mustafa Kamal who completed these projects. And I salute the guy. At least some one has given people of Pakistan a few things for their comfort/benefit.

I hope there are more people like Mustafa Kamal in Pakistan.

@peterpan.....nice to hear tht u lived in the same area....i was thr last year march..s i dnt know if anything has been changed after tht...bank is all refurbished and lush pash now...i thought the clinics name was ali clinic...dnt knwo if it is still thr or nt....agha raza is the most busiest place now..you can hardly get parking thr..in between 6 and 10...tht whole lane has become so much commercial now...wimpy is either gone or if its still there it must have been in the background since there are loads of more bigger wimpyss thr now thts y i cudnt spotted it.....as for the thaana..its still feature rich with all of its blossom..you always see a busted zang alood hilux standing outside ready to move like a flash....!!

In Pakistan people are praised when they perform the duties they are supposed to do.

I was praised as a teenager saying prayers. I often thought every muslim should be saying prayer. It should be normal not extraordinary. But UNFORTUNATELY in Pakistan this is extraordinary when people start doing what they are supposed to do.

I remember a similar person Mr. Manzoor Hussain Butt. He was a councillor in Rahman Pura area in Lahore. Friends this man was an angel. He really made Rahman Pura a nice place to live. I am compelled to write this. The job done by Mustafa Kamal is known to everyone as he has done this to a big city. But this man was Mustafa Kamal of his time for his small area. He provided Rahman Pura whatever was thought to be a good thing about an area in those days. I wish more and more of gentlemen like MK amd MHB for my beloved homeland Pakistan.

@iamsowise....yes we can give a bit of credit to media as well since they are like keeping an eye on everythin but whn it coems to telling it..they manifold it..but atleast after all twist...we still get some sort of info..which is way better thn 9 bajay ka khabarnama..!!

SC Judge should not involved himself in political matters.

Imagine of SC judge in US would praise any mayor of city or governor of state. He/she would be removed from office next day.
