Ms Hillary Clinton stands today exposed. She is playing a quadruple game with Pakistan, which is characterized by stark contradictions. First, she is secretly pushing the World Bank to exercise pressure on Pakistan to reduce the deployment of Pak troops on the Eastern Front on the ground that the grim economic situation warrants a drastic cut in military spending. Second, she is pushing Pakistan to enhance its troops on Pak-Afghan border and to open a new front in North Waziristan. Never mind enhancing the military spending! Third, she is advocating slashing $ 800 million in military aid to Pakistan. Fourth, she is building up India as a regional power. For this purpose she agreed to transfer nuclear and missile technology to New Delhi and still presumes that Pakistan would look the other way!
One can argue that both Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton lack “vision” or at least suffer from “vision-deficit” syndrome. One would ask Ms Hillary Clinton what if Pakistan decided to withdraw its 147000 troops from the Pak-Afghan border. What would happen if Pakistan contemplates using other regional options?
