"We must stand for Islamic values - even if liberal secularists hate it"
When the Guardian leaked the government plans for the Muslim community called ‘Contest 2’ in February 2009 one thing that shocked many people was the plan to label as an extremist anyone who holds a belief that homosexuality is a sin against the law of Allah وتعالى سبحانه. Only weeks later the Barack Obama’s government formally endorsed a UN statement calling for the worldwide decriminalisation of homosexuality. The imposition of western liberal social values on people in Britain and indeed the rest of the world is a sign – if any were needed – of the totalitarian nature of liberalism.
In Britain rates of Sexually Transmitted Diseases have been rising year on. There are now over 750 000 cases per year. According to the Health Protection Agency in 2007: ‘702 young people were diagnosed with HIV, representing 11% of all new HIV diagnoses. Young men who have sex with men remain the group of young people most at risk of acquiring HIV in the UK’. There are almost 200 000 abortions per year in the UK - a figure that astonishes even people who supported the legalisation of abortion 40 years ago. The rates of pregnancies in under 18s – a substantial proportion occurring unplanned to those who are not in a stable relationship – stand at about 42 000 per year, about 8000 being in under 16s.
All of these matters are considered harmful – even in the west. But the various harm reduction methods tried and re-tried over decades fail to abolish the harm to people. The government plans to solve these problems by more sex and relationship education, starting at 4 years of age through to 16 years and using materials that can only be described as pornographic.
The noble Islamic values promote decency and a stable family life. They encourage the separation of the genders unless the circumstance is either made necessary or permitted by the Shariah. The effect of this is to reduce an unnecessary agitation of man’s instinctual attraction to the opposite sex, which can cause significant disharmony and problems in society – as any observer of modern western living can testify. The noble Islamic values encourage marriage in order that men and women satisfy this human instinctual attraction between men and women in a decent loving way, encouraging love mercy and tranquillity between spouses. These values encourage a sense of family responsibility, and mutual respect and love that are the foundations of any stable society. A society that builds happy confident people, in a stable family unit is one that will have strong communities.
Conversely, Western liberal values undermine stable society, harmony and a solid family – even though people in the west also aspire to these aims. There is nothing encouraged in society that minimises unnecessary sexual agitation. Rather, the media and society’s norms actively fuel sexual agitation without giving a constructive framework for satisfaction of this attraction. There is nothing in society to promote marriage and a stable family. Rather, laws and society’s norms encourage marriage and promote short term and unstable relationships that go quite against the west’s own historic norms, religious values and even reproductive science. The result is what many now call a broken society.
As well as promoting marriage and family, and creating an environment that minimises agitation, Islam prohibits sexual relationships outside of marriage, considering them a sin for which a person will be accounted on the Day of Judgement. This includes homosexuality, which is undoubtedly a sin according to the laws of Allah وتعالى سبحانه. Other Islamic rules about how to deal with any illegal sexual relationship that is witnessed beyond doubt, according to the hudood of Allah وتعالى سبحانه, are conditional on there being an Islamic authority and due judicial process. If, at the conclusion of such a process, under the legitimate Islamic authority, a person is proved guilty then there is a punishment system that deals with this. The punishment in the dunya following such a process is considered a tazkiya – or purification – in the dunya. All of this falls under the responsibility of the Khalifah and not of individuals as Islam does not condone vigilantism.
The liberal fascists who are dominant in the world want to label it as extremist if Muslims believe any illegal sexual intercourse is a sin according to Allah’s law. They also label as extremist the belief in a Khilafah in the Muslim lands - that will encourage the noble Islamic values, facilitate marriage and prohibit illegal sexual intercourse under the law – even if the Muslim world desires to live under such a state. As long as their pursuit of happiness is satisfied they promote ‘personal freedom’ ignoring the fact that hundreds of thousand of others are slaves to a capitalist machine that makes money out of the media industry that promotes this self-harming behaviour. People become wealthy from money from movies, magazines and clubs that demean men and women, encouraging promiscuity and lewdness, and so damages society. They are called ‘businessmen’ but in truth are ‘pimps’. It is they and others who represent them politically who wish to extinguish the belief of Muslims in Islamic values.
يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطۡفِـُٔواْ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفۡوَٲهِهِمۡ وَٱللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِۦ وَلَوۡ ڪَرِهَ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ
Their intention is to extinguish Allah's Light (by blowing) with their mouths: But Allah will complete (the revelation of) His Light, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it).
Translated Meaning Quran Surah 61:8
However, Muslims must resist this assault. We must endeavour to cherish the Islamic values, live by them and try hard to secure them within our families and communities. This, they call ‘separatism’ and ‘extremism’ but we call common sense. And if, by Allah’s permission we are successful, then many other than Muslims will see this community - living by the light of Islam - as a beacon of hope in a breaking and decaying society.
So we ask our Muslim brothers and sisters to stand against this policy, stand for Islamic values and work to protect ourselves and our families from the growing social breakdown that afflicts western societies.
يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَأَهۡلِيكُمۡ نَارً۬ا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلۡحِجَارَةُ
“Oh you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families against a fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones…”
