Why not the so called Media is Launching Telethone against Zardari & Nawaz Sharif to force them to Bring there Assets back in Pakistan.Everone may know that the collective Assets of these two Dacoits are 114 Arab Dollars & total Loan of Pakistan is about 70 Arab Dollars.....But this is not Media of Pakistan its the "Feeded" Media.

Let's not dwell on the exact figures for now. Do you deny that NS+SS and their brother Zardari are having huge sums om property and money outside Pakistan?

Nawaz & Zardari are known for their corruption skills internationally, they are trying to beat Bill Gates as the richest man on earth, it is quite amazing that Nawaz with all that money cant find a good hair transplant

Accountability and justice is not the responsibility of the media; this is the job of the Government. Without proper accountability, Pakistanis will continue to suffer at the hands of dynasties and the forces of status quo. Change is not an accident; you have got to make it happen.

The question is very simple.Why not the so called media is launching a telethone to force Zardaro &Nawazo ...etc to bring their assets into Pakistan......If they could not do then they ave no right to do "Political Juggat Bazi" here.

If media knows they 'll find good sponsorship of the telethon, they 'll do it. Money is King here. Media is a business and not charity. We need to understand drivers and motives. Moreover this is not media's job to take somebody out of country, if people reject them, they 'll become nobody?

There was a very informative and interesting program on Dawn TV Channel by one Muttiullah Jan under the banner of "Apna Gareban".

As the name suggests, Muttiullah started bringing on camera people from media, print & electronic, and asking them to explain the "privileges" they acquired from Govt or other quarters.

I was shocked to see many big names exposed, who were unsuccessful in justifying the free Umra/Hajj tickets they got and plots and rental banglows they and their family members received. They were asked point blank simple questions to answer but most started stammering and accusing Muttiullah for playing dirty. So much for the free media and upright journalists. When we preach about moral and ethical values we actually mean others to measure up to those standards.

No wonder that the "Apna Gareban" lasted only a few episodes, and lucky Muttiullah that he did not lose his job.

I wish to read Muttiullah's account as to what sort of pressure was exerted, and by whom, to close that program??

To me Muttiullah Jan is one hell of a journalist!!!

Apna Gareban was one heck of a show and got to see a few of its episodes on Youtube. I must say that this guy Matiullah Jan has got a solid pair!

There is no country in the world which has uncontrolled freedom of expression. No TV channel in the USA was allowed to expose the injured and dead people on the incident of 9/11. Whenever they find any exposure going against their national interests, they control it. We have a totally uncontrolled media. Sometimes, some channels project the things which go in the interest of our rival country India rather than our own.

I think, now we are bit clear about drivers of media business. Ethics have hardly anything to do with them hence our expectation need to be realistic from media?

Apart from the corruption, can we also ask our media speacialy the private channels to stop showing the bollywood crap 24/7.

What kind of professionalism is that to air kachhra indian songs in the background with the news? Do you see it happening any where else in the world like CNN, BBC etc?

in our country.
the word freedom has very limited meaning and it vary from time to time, person to person and place to place.
unfortunately...

here freedom of press and electronic media
means freedom to an extend.
there is a border and nobody can cross it.

some amount of freedom has to be given in order to get the media business running and getting revenues out of it.
plus proving on the world that we are a Govt that allows press to do whatever it wants.

but there is a border offcourse.
jahan Talat Hussain aur Shahid Masood se lay kay Hamid Mir aur Kamran Khan tak kay parr jaltay hain.

You guys are right that these channels should stop using kachra indian songs as background for news. But can't viewers do anything else besides hoping that good sense prevails in these channels?

Why not vote with our remote controls and switch the channels. There are channels like Waqt TV which never show any indian kachra !!!!

Right, but I believe it's the duty of the media to act like a watchdog, and that is regardless of the government delivers or not. Of course they should not go for sensationalism, but do some hard core=professional research. I still believe that they will gain popularity since people value such programs.

Imran khan is one of the few Pakistani political leader who can face all the national & international medias & hard-to-face anchorpersons, unlike Nawaz dollar shareer who just decided to chiken-out on all the national issues & you dont see him facing anchors on any issue specially on corruption allegation on him

@adonis, Expecting viewers to change channels is un-fair. This argument can be accepted if Indian media also showcase Pakistani music or any positive news about Pakistan. They dont even show sports related news about Pakistan however Pakistani media even follows likes of Rakhi Sawan...

Why Geo, ARY show bollywood news reports? We have enough problems in Pakistan that time be dedicated to Bollywood garbage. The Bollywood stuff is really hurting Pakistani culture.

for entertainment all channels have only bollywood news...because Indian culture is promoting by our SAMJHDHAR Government to allow Indian films so how our media can stop promoting Indian culture?

Also there is nothing left in our so called LOLLYWOOD.....

Can anyone tell that does Indian Media promoting Pakistani culture?

I have wrote to main persons of our channels to stop to promote Indian culture but all in vain...every one is running after money and without spreading "FAHASHI" they cannot earn...even they have no thought that these so called LIBERAL channels are ruining our new generation's future.
