KARACHI: Police arrested on Sunday 35 people for allegedly creating a law and order situation and damaging police mobiles in Orangi Town.

The incident took place when a rally was taken out by people of the area protesting against the poor law and order situation.

A similar rally was witnessed when the administration had decided to ban the use of motorcycle in Orangi Town, prompting people to take to the streets.

Police said on Sunday the rally was taken out by residents of Orangi Town in protest against targeted killings taking place in Orangi Town and its adjoining areas, especially after last Friday’s killings.

Taken out from Sector 11 ½ Bihar Colony, the rally passed through Banaras Chowk and marched on Manghopir Road. Police said from 10,000 to 15,000 people took part in the rally.

Orangi Town SHO Raja Tariq said the trouble started at Orangi No 5, when in the garb of protesters a sizable number of miscreants in the rally targeted the police mobiles and smashed the windowpanes of two police mobiles.

They also snatched a tear-gas gun from the police, the SHO added. Following the incident, police resorted to teargas shelling and aerial firing to disperse the crowd.

Till Sunday night police had failed to recover their gas gun.

SHO Raja Tariq said the rally itself was peaceful and no issue of law and order was created by its participants when it passed through various parts of Orangi Town.

He, however, said that certain elements tried to join the rally from the tail-end, attacking the police mobiles.

On Friday, at least three residents of Orangi Town were killed in separate incidents of targeted killings.

In one incident, the suspects tried to slit the throat of a victim. However, he escaped the attempt with a scar and was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

There was speculation that he was trying to form separate group and continue the original mohajir cause.
He was bihari and had strong grip on their voters.MQM had setup a committe to keep close watch on his activities. They feared that if he formed separate group then it could jeopardize mqm electoral strength.

wow this means soon or later we will see another no go areas in karachi ,after MQM haqeeqi there is another pressure group for MQM to show them nuke and expose them with close circuit cemera televion, this mean when nawaz shareef came in power BQM will replace the MQM haqeeqi and new force will be introduced agaisnt MQM.

why MQM afraid from other parties among muhajirs, let them decide and be freee to choose thier leeders,MQM is not solution for karachi except destruction and working on agenda of Israil and CIA as they performed film of target kilings recenlty was a forefplay of this game.because NATO wanted thier stay in Quetta which was refused by PAK agenceies, in the reverse they (CIA) gave signal altaf to start your orginal game to distrub the city law and order situation and start target killings and they done thier job very well, when agencies saw this situation they made agreement with ANTO to stay in quetta ,then MQM got silence and close thier eyes for a moment.but agencies started thier game agaisnt MQM to moblize and provoke another force named BMQ.sooon or latter they will get power and there will be another no go area in the city of lights.

These friggin MQMized terrorist didn't even spared Imran Farooq and pulled off such a gruesome act with a brick in London, obviously this BQM guy was in Karachi and they had to teach him a lesson so basically he had no chance.

But Altaf and his gang hiding in London keep on forgetting one simple fact that bricks are not that 'hard' to procure in London if they can pull off such an act in London and walk away clean then any one else too can use a mason or two to go after British grand terrorist Altaf ? I hope Altaf have got his bori sewed coz he won't fit in standard size bori..

irshad"but agencies started thier game agaisnt MQM to moblize and provoke another force named BMQ."

There is nothing on record to show that BQM is being backed by agencies or that they had any role in its formation.
