Do Pakistanis complain more about their government (politicians, bureaucrats and others) than Indians?
I have noticed that in a typical Pakistani American gathering, people talk about what Pakistan should have achieved but did not. They usually complain about rampart corruption, lack of ethics and lack of economic elevation of the poor. On the other hand I have not heard many Indian (Muslim or non) complaining about their government. Probably, you will see more displeasure toward Pakistani politicians and bureaucrats on this site than Indian anger on their politicians and bureaucrats on the entire Internet.
Other than establishing a democratic system, I do not see Indians could make Pakistanis envy of their progress. At the time of partition the area of current Pakistan was contributing about 7% of the total GDP of Subcontinent (IN, PK, BD) while its current share is about 24%.
Size of corruption can be measured from the black money of each country in Swiss banks. I could not find the Pakistani figures but they are not among the top five (5th one is 96B). India being on the top of the world corruption (1456 billion), Pakistanis would have done less than 5% of the total loot of the Subcontinent.
Everyone knows about the comparative number of poor in two countries, standard of living and difference between the rich and poor. The current area of Pakistan was 7% of the total Sub-continental population at partition while it has about 11% share now.
The question arises why we complain more than Indian about our country. Is it something in our national psyche or is it the standard set by our religion in our conscience?
