Today brought a sad news of the demise of one of the greatest Islamic scholar, Dr Israr Ahmed. He passed away at his residence. He was suffering from a severe back-pain and heart disorders for long time. Although I diagreed with Dr Israr on many issues, but without a doubt he was true man of wisdom. A man with immense knowledge of the world, and Islam. May allah rest his soul in peace.

Assalam-o-Alaikum-Warahmat-ULLAH ALL,
إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون
I wanted, I needed, I was hoping for him to live longer!. For I had many questions to ask of him. I needed to get a lot of knowledge, a lot of education out of him.
He was a library on Islam, the world, politics, Muslims, etc etc.
I have lost someone irreplaceable. I have lost a lot!.

I am very sad indeed to read the news. I listened to him for hours and learnt a lot. He spoke and explained things with logic. He will be missed by many. May Allah bless his soul and provide us with more people like him. Ameen

May he gets the best, a man of sincere conviction.
I first heard him in 80s when he came to my school, was too young to understand a thing of his lecture.
Although his thoughts were never always necessarily accordant with the religious circles, nevertheless they were plausible enough to be valid, reasonable and truthful to minds. He helped understand of a prototype Islamic government in current age striving for compatibility with the Rashida Caliphate. His contribution has been outstanding of a man of no formal religious education.

Our sadness finds no words. But he has gone to a better world now, back to Allah whom he served so faithfully while amongst us. May his beautifully defended convictions live on and his beautiful soul rest in peace eternal.

He is definately going to be missed...he was i think the only scholar in Pakistan who impressed ppl from all ages....young,old,woman etc.. with his logical explanation of Quran and Hadeeth even comparative religions,science,politics....i learned alot from his lectures..i always found him so reasonable..he was one of those ppl who admired me in so many ways....my ardent desire was to listen to him live as i always wanted to see him once but unfortunately there isn't much culture to arrange live islamic programs for women audience like they do in india...wish he could have lived a little long to imrpess and change another thousand minds...his sudden death is a big shock!

May Allah bestow his soul with paradise.
I must say that he was simply the best. I saw him very kind and his words were always convincing. He was not like the traditional clerics and was a well educated person. He passed his MBBS from King Edward Medical College and later on did his Masters in Islamic Studies, from Karachi.
He will certainly be remembered whenever good people will be discussed.

i think he has appointed HIS SON as his successor and hope his son will take the mission further by at least keeping his organisation alive and handing it over to his descendants until the khilafat is established...

Dear Members,
I would like to share one of the episode of my conversation with Dr. Israr Ahmad, dated March 31, 1982.
For me he was a great person of his kind.Posted 2 years ago on 14 Apr 2010 18:02 # -
He was a learned scholar. May Allah Subhana wa Taala award him jannah. Aameen.

We can all learn from Dr Israr.
Dr. Israr left the Jamaat-e-Islami in 1956 becuase it had entered electoral politics which he belived is incompatiable with Islamic Order.
Furthermore, he founded the Tanzeem-e-Islami which aimed to bring about an Islamic Revolution through Non-Violence and Passive resistance, with emphasis on 'sabr'.

May Almighty bless his soul. Following is an interesting article where it mentions that Dr. Israr resigned as an adviser of cruel dictator Zia by saying that the journail lied in his promise of establishing an Islamic system. Dr. Israr did not give any controversial statement in the last two decades of his life.

An active Da’i passes away after spending his life calling for Khilafah and the implementation of Islam
انا للہ وانا الیہ راجعون
After spending his life as a Da’i of Islam and a Da’i of Khilafah, Dr. Israr Ahmed, passed away in the early hours of today. انا للہ وانا الیہ راجعون O’ Allah! Please forgive his human errors and accept his efforts for raising his voice for the implementation of Islam and the establishment of the Khilafah. O’ Allah! On the day of judgement please grant him the privilege of intercession of Muhammad (saaw). O’ Allah grant patience and steadfastness to the relatives of Dr. Israr Ahmed and accept them as well in this great and honorable work of establishing the Khilafah. Ameen!Dr. Israr was the most well-known amongst the band of scholars who openly denounce democracy as Kufr and declare Khilafah as the only valid ruling system in Islam. His struggle is most commendable especially in the times when a considerable number of Ulema have an apologetic attitude towards democracy whilst another small cross-section even considers democracy to be an Islamic system. All his life he rejected the electioneering-politics which allowed him to keep himself clean from the blemishes of this kufr system and as a result he maintained his respect and stature in the Ummah. We pray from Allah that He may grant us the Khilafah for which Dr. Israr yearned for all his life and which is the heartbeat of the millions of Muslims across the world so that Muslims may live under the shade of Islam once again. Ameen!
Regards

May Allah swt' forgive him and give him a place in Jannat, Ameen!
Yesterday I saw 1000's of people in Dr Israr's Namaz'e Janazah. i saw journalists, Scholars, Jamat'e islami etc., and the question kept arising in my mind, How many of these supported the just cause of the revival of Khilafat system by Dr.Israr Ahmad. I knew the answer, NOT MANY, and now he's dead all have come and were praising for the work he has done but never supported him~ that was strange!
Another strange feeling i have is, here we see the talks of dividing Pakistan on ethnic lines and there Allah Swt' takes the soul of Dr.Israr Ahmed. I'm glad that he's no more here to witness the destruction of Pakistan and that he's in a better place and Allah forgive him! Ameen.

@Revivalist
"All his life he rejected the electioneering-politics which allowed him to keep himself clean from the blemishes of this kufr system and as a result he maintained his respect and stature in the Ummah"
Very Important Point.
He was one of the many Muslim scholars who hilighted the incompatability of electoral politics and Islamic Scholarship.Posted 2 years ago on 15 Apr 2010 15:50 # -
Despite my conceptual differences with him on certain issues, I found myself very supportive to him for his determination of reviving the system of Khilafat.
Unity among the Muslims is the most important tool in our efforts to revive Khilafat. For this great objective, sectarianism should be strongly discouraged by the Ulemas of all the schools of thought. Tolerance and forgiveness with each other need to be stressed by all the Ulemas.
Revival of Khilafat is the sole solution to the problems of Muslim Ummah.

I wish and pray someone could continue his mission of revival of Khilafat but Alas i dont see any replacement at da moment...
Posted 2 years ago on 17 Apr 2010 13:05 # -
RhyMe, please don't be disappointed. Please pray to Allah for betterment. Let us start the mission of Khilafat by discouraging any type of sectarianism. Sectarianism is like a fatal poison for Muslim Ummah. Let us ignore conceptual differences and unite ourselves as brethren-in-Islam.
