Big storms sometimes begin deceptively small and then in no time become monsters, ruthlessly devouring the unprepared, the unsuspecting. Are Mansoor Ijaz’s revelations in the Financial Times something similar? He claims to have delivered an SOS message from President Zardari to President Obama at the behest of a top diplomat and says that he was specifically asked to approach Admiral Mike Mullen because Mullen could influence both Obama and Gen Kayani. “The memo was delivered to Admiral Mullen at 14.00 hrs on May 10”, wrote Mansoor, saying the very next day in Washington, Mullen had a meeting with “Pakistani national security officials” who had no clue at the time that their meeting had been spawned by a secret presidential memo. Rawalpindi too learnt of the memo months later when Mansoor went cautiously public in the FT.

So Zardari sends a message too Obama through the Chinese/Afghan Ambassadors(according to N-league logic)but not the designated American Ambassador. Some 'smoking gun' isn't it....

@Aftab,
All I want to know is where in that op-ed article by Mansoor Ejaz was Hussain Haqani mentioned? Did it even mention that the "Senior Diplomat" was of ambassadorial level? A senior diplomat of a country besides the ambassador can be the Consul General and Pakistan has at least four of them based in NY, Chicago, LA and Houston. A senior diplomat inside an embassy besides the ambassador is also the Charge D Affairs.
So now the question as always remains to be answered, how did Imran Khan know for a fact that it was Haqqani and only Haqqani himself who delivered this memo to Mansoor Ejaz.

@ Sid
I want to find it too, but can't seem to do so.
Imran is the only one who can answer but from the above article that i posted, it is pretty obvious, that to get a message too Obama, you would use the American ambassador and not one from a third country.

Early on May 9, a week after US Special Forces stormed the hideout of Osama bin Laden and killed him, a senior Pakistani diplomat telephoned me with an urgent request. Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan’s president, needed to communicate a message to White House national security officials that would bypass Pakistan’s military and intelligence channels. The embarrassment of bin Laden being found on Pakistani soil had humiliated Mr Zardari’s weak civilian government to such an extent that the president feared a military takeover was imminent.

In our digressive obsession with who knew what and when, we seem to forget that the main issue is a far more serious one; Zardari and Haqqani's extra-ordinary back-channel back stabbing of Pakistans national defence forces. I am amazed that no body seems to be asking the very simple question; Is this the way the President should behave? Is there a new definition of high treason?
Please try and keep an eye on the real issue. It's about Zardari and Haqqani uttering sweet nothings in Mullen's ears.

ADMIN!
Why are you not blocking 'KHAN' who keeps posting the same shite on multiple threads?
This not the first time I have noticed him doing it. Can you please enforce your banning policy?
KHAN is devaluing this forum and needs a life time ban and possibly a spanking.

It has been complicated by the involvement of opposition politician and former cricketer Imran Khan.He named Hussain Haqqani as a player in the "memogate" affair at a large rally in Lahore on 30 October - before Mr Ijaz had brought his name into the public domain in the West.
Mr Khan has yet to explain why he did so.

i was also member of pti but i left long time ago and u will see all those young people those are being fooled by imran khan ,they will soon be disappointed.
b/c in reality there is no one who can bring inqilab and we dont have any leader of that criteria only Allah will bring it when all the muslims will be united .so please be aware of those people who make u fool by the name of revolution.
the real revolution in ur life u can bring if u follow the deen and fulfill responsibilities and thats it.
following a western agenda can never bring inqliab in a muslim.Posted 1 year ago on 22 Nov 2011 20:16 # -
imran himself is nothing its all establishment that is promoting him all of sudden.
otherwise any person with common sense would think how all of sudden he is under discussion and all lotaz joining him...there must be somehting behind....and b/c all these lotaz thinks that establishment has promised imran to make him prime minister thats why they are joining him.
but i think no matter what establishment would do imran can never become prime minister b/c he is a arrogant person/Maghroor
and Allah dont like maghroor.Posted 1 year ago on 22 Nov 2011 20:17 # -
VERY VERY IMPORTANT.....
why pakistan condition could not changed after 60 years? b/c wherever these western countries/america go their target is to form an establishment with which they can rule always and once they are able to make that set up then they go out of that country and control via remote control.
same thing happen in egypt, people removed Husne Mubarak and they thought their will be change but they did not see that change and now they in streets again against army,b/c the army was controling everything and the remote control of army was somewhere else.
similarly in pakistan is the same problem...they dont want that nawaz sharif or any other powerful prime minister who can change their game...they want only that person who work under that establishment so they can rule the country.Posted 1 year ago on 22 Nov 2011 20:34 # -
KHAN
"i was also member of pti but i left long time ago"
Merciful God be thanked for that!
The tripe you come up with adequately confirms that you have found your true calling in life, an undying love for a "powerful" Nawaz Sharif, who signed a secret deal and went into a hellish life in exile with his family and his money.
What can I say, true love never dies, so enjoy the warm glow that emanates from Raiwind.
Perhaps you like cowards, who knows.

The News published Haqqani name on OCT 15, a full 15 days before Lahore Jalsa. If a journalist could have worked it out (check out the 2nd comment on the story as well), I'm sure others could have worked it out as well.

Could not agree more, the establishment with its dirty games has done more harm to Pakistan then all the political parties together .... they have stolen mandates, manufactured election results..used militancy and guerall warfare to gain strategic depth internally as well as externally....put conditions on civilians and as a result the country is ungovernable now...it is about time that it stopped..

@Scandinavian
Or will you go into hiding?LOL,look whoz talking.. You think i am ISI Khan(Who went into hiding just before Long March in March 2009 and who went into hiding during dictator Mush's time as well and was nabbed by IJT at punjab university and handed over to Police..)
Its no surprise opportunist agents of establishment like Muhammed Malick are now bailing out ISI Khan, after all Pasha is a busy person, you can't expect Pasha to show up every night at BaniGala Palace for "daily bed time story debriefing" , he obviously must have tasked establishment's other proven and tested intermediators & interlocutors(Butlers & Nannies) like Haroon Rasheed and Malick to do the dirty work(Like changing ISI Khan's diapers etc)..
You would see many more of these opportunist establishment turncoats join the ISI khan in coming days..

So with the support of establishment you will bring REVOLUTION, we might have many such revolutions (supported by establishment) through out the history of Pakistan & situation is infront of you.
We need to learn something from our past mistakes for better future of this country.

Mohammad Malick receiving a death threat. From a blocked number
Reporters Without Borders is concerned by a telephone death threat received three days ago by Mohammad Malick, editor of the Pakistani daily The News International, from a blocked number.
The threat followed his newspaper’s prominent coverage of the so-called “memogate” scandal, which led to the resignation of Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States this week.
“We ask the Pakistani authorities to take the telephone threats against Mohammad Malick seriously and to pay attention to his safety in the coming weeks,” the press freedom organization said.
“We do not want to see another tragedy like the kidnapping and murder of Saleem Shahzad.”
The body of Shahzad, an investigative reporter who wrote about Islamic militants and Al-Qaeda for the Asia Times online newspaper, was found in Punjab province on 31 May 48 hours after he went missing....

ISI and Army can't be the ones giving death threats to malick. I don't understand the point of giving death threat now when everything is out in the open. Unless their is more to it than we already know.....Is Zardari sending his cockroaches to do the job?
