Explosen near Peshawar , Another Taliban attack

    there has been a huge explosion near Peshawar Airport/university rd...a police station near bye...reports are sketchy...looks like a car bomb.

    PESHAWAR, Pakistan (Reuters) - A big explosion badly damaged a police station Wednesday in Pakistan's volatile town of Peshawar, near the Afghan border, wounding several people and causing widespread damage, police said.

    Police said the dawn blast all but flattened the police station. Local television said 10 people were wounded.

    Residents said the explosion rattled windows throughout the town. Television showed police and soldiers cordoning off the affected district.

    The incident occurred about 1 km (half a mile) from the U.S. consulate and in the same district where a car bomb exploded last week as a U.S. consulate convoy passed by. One man was killed and about a dozen people were wounded, including two U.S. nationals.

    The Pakistani Taliban said it carried out that assault, the first attack on foreigners since a U.S. commando team killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden early this month.

    After removing OBL evil, revenge attacks will continue unless we take a decisive all-out action against the evil of Talibans and AlQaeda; so far our response to terrorism has been lukewarm and inadequate. Terrorists have hijacked Islam and they are roaming free throughout Pakistan planning and executing their acts of terror in the name of Jihad.

    It is high time to take strong action against terrorists and their supporters.
