I would like to mention two of the greatest military commanders serving in the greatest fighting force in history.
1. Field Marshall Erich Von Manstein was the architect of the German victory against France in May, 1940 and probably the best military mind of the post-Napoleonic era.
When everybody knew that Nazi Germany would lose the war, some generals went up to him and asked for his help in staging a coup against Adolf Hitler.
The great general replied, "Prussian Field Marshalls do not mutiny".
All of Germany was destroyed but this great general, whose performance and legacy can't be matched by the Pakistani property-dealers-****-generals in a 1000 lives, refused to mutiny against the political leadership despite knowing the end was going to be bitter.
---------------------------------------
2. Field Marshall Erwin Rommel, the "Desert Fox", was another legendary commander who pioneered the BLITZKRIEG tactic.
The 7th Panzer Division, under his command, advanced a 100 miles in a single day in France earning the nickname "Ghost Division".
When the British got defeated at Tobruk, Winston Churchill remarked about Rommel while in the House of Commons, "In the havoc of war, I must say a great general".
Rommel was accused of being an accomplice in an assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler on July 20, 1944. He was brought before Adolf Hitler who gave him 2 choices:
a. Stand trial in Military court
b. Commit suicide
The indomitable Rommel said, "I will not stand in a trial, I am no criminal". He chose to take poison but with the condition that he be buried with full military honors.
His wish was granted and his burial was attended by Adolf Hitler himself.
--------------------------------------------------
Now my countrymen, decide whether Pak Army generals can ever match these honorable men.
No they can't, not even if they die and live again a 1000 times.
If such great generals did not stage a coup against their political leadership, then what right do these shameless generals have to usurp power again and again.
